I can't understand all the negative reviews for this game. There is a free demo of this game. All I can do about guys screaming how bad this game tends to be, is to laugh about you being so m*therf*ck*ng stupid and / or having too much money, so you think you don't have to read the despricption and / or try the demo before buying. Do humanity a favour and please never make childs guys.

Anyway ... on to the review of this game:

This is a nice and mindless arcade style top-down shooter. It features nice graphics, enjoyable sound-effects and a stomping soundtrack.

You shouldn't expect anything from this game but aiming with your mouse and shooting. I mean LITERALLY THAT IS ALL THERE IS TO DO! You can't even move because in the first installment of the series as you are in sitting with your charakter in a tower that is fixed in the landscape of each level.

In the second and third part of the game you can even walk around, what makes the game maybe more enjoyable but it also makes it harder as the difficulty setting of the levels is risen up by adding even more enemies and a casual boss-fight here and there. Apart from that each game at heart is pretty much the same:

Each level consists of only one screen. There are rocks (that can be shot) and explosive barrels (that of course can be shot) and most of all there are hundreds of enemies (that should be shot) in each level coming at you in waveforms trying to get to you or to shoot at you to destroy you.

All you can do to prevent them from doing so is holding down your mousebutton and shoot like hell.

The game has three characters to choose from, each one plays a little different as each character has seperate tech-trees which can be upgraded by spending XP you get from killing enemies. Also from time to time there are cyber skeletons running around on the battlefield which when shot leave some extras behind, that once collected (by - you guessed it - shooting at them) can be anything from weapons, shields, smartbombs and so on, to give you a little advantage over the massive agressing hordes of enemies storming onwards.

This game is a lot of fun to me. I already owned it before steam was even there and if you enjoy the demo you might give it a try as you maybe will enjoy it too. Just don't expect anything from this game that it does not even promise or tend to be.

I bought all three installments of the series in a sale and you should most wisely do the same. Though the game offers a decent amount of replayability with it's different characters and difficulty settings, yet after all this years i think it's a little overpriced at it's normal price.

So for now I recommend you to try and play the demo until the next discount is on and then get the full version of the game !!!

If you're up for a fun, no-nonsense, classic style, old-school, twin-stick shooter with very straightforward bish-bash-bosh gameplay then you can do a lot worse.

The RIP Trilogy are basic shooter games. The first one is painful as you sit stationary, and have to shoot enemies as they approach from all directions. The second and third are twin stick shooters that are more comical than anything else. The second one is fair, but the third one is was incredibly easy until a train decided to derail and chase me, which was the most hillarious moment I had in the game. I died instantly, which was totally worth it.

If you like twin stick shooters, try Smash TV, Robotron, Hotline Miami, and just about anything else. After you tried them all, come check this out just for a good laugh.

Simple arcade shooter that does not fit everyone's taste. I like all three games from trilogy even if I rather play the first or third one and not so much second. This retro feel is my liking and characters are cool, what more could I want?

Fun timewaster, especially good value on sale for $1 as you often find it.

Note that I had encountered a crash issue in middle of the 2nd game's campaign which kept me from progressing, but #1 and #3 worked fine.

This was also way back when on an XPx32 system, so your mileage may vary on modern OS'.

Overall score - 5.5/10 (Just about made it to positive)

Gameplay - 8/10 - Very fun and big on action. It doesn't have much to it. It's a great feeling if you win a level.
Graphics for its time - 4.5/10 - Not really advanced and mediocre doesn't have 1366x768. It has good artwork.
Story - 0/10 - There's none.
Worth the money? - Almost worth it. I definely recommend if it's less than £1.

In RIP, you're controlling a stationary turret and shooting hordes of enemies.
In RIP 2, your character can move, but it's still boring.
RIP 3 is ok, if you're into casual games (I'm not). It has pretty nice graphics and actual story (the first 2 games don't have one, although they claim to offer "Story mode").

In all three games, you can play as Death, Halloween character and Devil character (also, additional human characters in RIP 3) and all three games have skill trees, which is nice.

I got RIP trilogy from Indie bundle pack and I was hoping that it would be similar to Jackal (a game on NES), but it's not even near that. Although, RIP 3 is not that bad. It suits as a brainless time killer, if you have nothing better to play or do. Also, it provides a good example of a simple game, you can create in few days yourself.

Overall rating: 5/10 for RIP 3. 4/10 for RIP2 and 3/10 for RIP 2

RIP (O primeiro jogo).
Jogo bem difícil, viciante e desafiante (no nível hard, é claro).

RIP Strikes Back (O segundo jogo)

RIP 3 Last Hero (O terceiro e último jogo)

I can easily, EASILY say that the RIP Trilogy are some of the worst games I've ever played. They are the secret shame of my Steam library. The graphics are amateurish, the gameplay forgettable, the story could have been written better by an eleven-year old. Do yourself a favor and play Crimsonland, or some other good game of this genre.

Even if this is on sale for a dollar, you'd get more enjoyment physically lighting a dollar on fire, and watching the brief flame.

After sitting through 5 minutes of this complete garbage just to write a review, I can honestly say that it was the worst 5 minutes of my entire life. The fact that this game released on Steam is appalling because it looks to be programmed by a five year old on LSD. Never buy this game, the developers were high on cough syrup for thinking once that this game is worth giving a title. The graphics are awful, the gameplay is worse than Farmville's, and the sound effects are of the devil.

One of the dullest games I've played on steam - all three of them felt like a waste of time. There's nothing in this game that is interesting or motivates the player. No graphics settings, very shallow game with boring gameplay. Don't buy it even if it's for a dollar. Even for free, it probably isn't worth your time.

RIP 1:
In RIP 1, you are a turret. You can't move, and you are usually located in the center of a small map. Enemies come at you from all directions, most of the time in groups and in formation, and attack you. That's it. There is nothing else to the game. Looking at the screenshots you may think, “this looks like it was made in the early 90s even though it was released in 2007.” You may be right, but it does manage to be mildly fun. As you progress through the 40 levels, you will unlock perks, and there are also about five or so weapons available to you in each level. Sometimes you will have access to three or four of these weapons, and you may choose which one you will use. By trial and error you will figure out that depending on the level, some weapons are much better than others. It took me about one hour to beat the game, and I would say that it was a decent hour of simple, yet fun top down horde shooter action. There is no reason to play through it again, but what it provided in that hour was enough.

RIP 2 - Strike Back:
RIP 2 takes your character of choice out of the turret and makes the game much more twin-stick-shooter-like. With that said, there are still a few levels that require you to use the turret, and they have also added two vehicles you could use in several levels. There is a tank and a cumbersome helicopter. In addition to the vehicles and new control mechanics, the developers also added some new enemies and a few bosses scattered throughout the 60 levels. RIP 2 is noticeably more difficult than the first game in the series, but it's still manageable with the exception of having to repeat one or two levels several times in order to beat them. The enemy pathfinding problems are still there, and because some levels have many more obstacles than on the first game, it becomes much more obvious to notice that the game's AI leaves much to be desired. RIP 2 is basically 60 more levels of the original game with the addition of a few things here and there. It's virtually the same game, but with more levels and some new mechanics. With that said, it's comparable in enjoyment to RIP 1.

RIP 3 - The Last Hero:
This is the first game in the series to actually make an attempt at fleshing out the story. This adds nothing to the quality of the game, even though some of the cutscene artwork is decent if you like their 90s style. The AI and pathfinding problems are much more noticeable in RIP 3 than in the two previous games. This has more to do with the level design being generally worse than in the other two games. Strangely enough, even though it may seem like the developers spent more time with this third installment by adding a few more interesting weapons and polishing the graphics and overall presentation a bit, the game suffers technically, as the AI's behavior is erratic at best, and extremely boring at its worst. Not much has been done to make it better than the other games. It's as if the development team had the urge to make the third game, but very little interest in attempting to make it better. RIP 3 is the least enjoyable of the three games, as it steps down in quality quite frequently through the 100 levels.

The other reviews of RIP - Trilogy are quite harsh. I agree that these games aren't good, but the amount of negativity seems to be coming from people who didn't even give it a chance. If you like simplistic, retro style arcade action, this package is at an OK price and will provide you with a few hours of fun.

RIP - Trilogy is okay.
