Bought this game a few days after it was released, and then I bought The Moon Project and Lost Souls. I really wanted to play this game, but the disks were broken, so hello price of €0.97! Here I come!
This game is a golden classic in every, single detail. No, seriously, this game made the unit-design thing so solid that it was fun, and never looked wrong. For a game from year 2000, it was one of the best from the RTS genre.
Good graphics for that year, which is now left with fecals thrown at it by angry kiddos who were more used to the XXX360N0SC0P3XXX graphics and gameplay of ♥♥♥♥ty Call of Duty. Details are also lovely! When it is snowing, your buildings and units get covered in snow! When it is raining, your units and buildings get all nice and clean! Oh, have I told you about the ability to arm your buildings? Yep, another of these features that made the game amazing.
Three different factions that differ, lots of different missions, good detail and interesting, put-together mainbase/mission map, together with the tunneling aspect! This is good!
If you are not a whiney ♥♥♥♥, and love to play some good old classics, then get this game. I got it a couple of days ago, and I might not have plenty of hours of it played on Steam, but trust me: Back then, when I didn't have the internet, I played the living HELL out of this game.
So yeah, get it if you are the classics masterrace, and not a dickbutt.
P.S.: If you crash at the opening of the design menu (F1), then I recommend setting to OpenGL and choosing a maximal resolution of 1280x1024. Works evry tiem.
