"The Steam licensing for Curvy 3D is identical to the terms you'd get when ordering the latest version of Curvy direct from this website.
Unlike some 3D software on Steam it is not a simpler or more restricted program compared to non-Steam users - it is the full complete version.
So no restrictions on how you use the output at all, and you are entitled to the same upgrade deals when new versions are released." ( http://www.curvy3d.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=15512#15512
I'm not great at it on Curvy3D, yet I do like how responsive Curvy3D is. It works when I tell it to, not 2 seconds later.
Project Dogwaffle is the send to tool for texturing. Howler by Project Dogwaffle is usually found at a good price if you find a sale on the web.
You can paint directly within Curvy3D if you want.
"Hi, sounds like a good variety of maps coming out of Substance. Not all of them have a direct twin in Curvy.
You might try mapping "Metallic" to "Specular/Highlight", and "Roughness" to "Bumpmap" (with a decreased intensity).
"Height" can map either to "CurvyMap", to actually displace the surface, or "BumpMap" to render the surface as if it was displaced (better for small details)
If you want to make a metal object make sure to set the Highlight Lightmap to be a shiny metallic ball, so it will render like a reflection map.
"Normal" doesn't have a slot in Curvy, it's function is similar to "Bumpmap" but a Normal map won't work in a bumpmap slot.
Finally - Curvy is best for modelling, if you want to use cool material types from Substance it is probably best to Model in Curvy and then do your rendering in Substance or other renderers that support the full range of material settings." ( http://www.curvy3d.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2872
There's 32 of them... the panel is normally hidden. The treatment of layers is hard to explain. This very concise panel is for viewing, selecting, hiding, and showing layers. Think empty and content when looking at it. If 31 layers are empty, there is only 1 layer in your project. If 7 layers have content, there is only 7 layers in your project. You can move content from one layer to another.
There is a 'Sculptie Mode' which should probably be selected before using the Sculpt tools.
There is a 'Wine Compatibility Mode' for using it within Wine which runs on Linux.
