About This Game

Control the evolution with the touch of your finger. Climb your way through the evolutional ladder. Start as a little organism and transform into a magnificent aquatic being. Explore the abyss in search of nutritional elements. Attack other species whenever you run out of other food sources. Enjoy beautiful surreal visuals and relax with minimalistic ambient soundtrack.

Can you grow the biggest Sparkle in the world?

Subtle, captivating, addictive. These three words describe the world of Sparkle - world in which you make a tiny aquatic creature evolve into becoming a grown, magnificent being.

We give you control over your Sparkle's development and wellbeing, and you have one goal - to evolve. Whilst exploring the Sparkle Void, you find various nutritious elements to eat. Sometimes you will even have to fight for food with other species. You become what you eat - you get to choose whether your sparkle becomes a fast and aggressive carnivore, a sluggish but fast-eating herbivore, or an omnivore, whose features lie somewhere in between. Insight to your Sparkle's DNA strand will give you information about the progress and will help you plan which microelements you want to focus on eating next. You will also get to fight giant bosses from time to time.

But there’s no rush to keep the game in full swing at all times. You may as well just relax, play the game on a slow pace, explore the sparkle void, consume nutritional elements, enjoy simple and surreal surrounding and listen to the ambient music soundtrack. The choice is all yours.

- Three different ways to evolve. Become a fast and agressive carnivore, a sluggish but fast eating herbivore, or an omnivore whose features lie somewhere in between
- Play through 13 dreamlike looking levels.
- Use GenLab to check your Sparkles DNA strand, your progress, status of your special skills, and plan what to eat next accordingly.
- Relax with great chilled-out ambient soundtrack.
- Compete against other Sparkle in fast-paced competitive mode

This game is very beautiful!
It has 2 modes - single player or competition (against the AI). Single player can become boring very fast, because all you do is eat a certain amount of food (orbs) to finish the stage. Competition mode is fun because the AI actually challenges you and you can only go to the next stage if you win against the AI. But it also can become boring very fast, which didn't happen to me considering the game only has 14 stages and 2 of them are specifics to get achievements.
The controls are easy enough most of the time. It can be a little frustrating depending on the evolution of your spark, but easy to manage.
The game leads you to believe that your spark will evolve in different ways based on the type of food (orbs) you eat. That's not true. Not only the evolution of your spark is the same no matter what you eat, but you can't actually choose what to eat (not in competition mode at least, since you gotta beat the AI). You can choose what to eat in single player (the game only requires you to eat the necessary amount of food of at least one color), but it makes no difference whatsoever.
The game is not worth the full price, but for 90% off I say go for it. You get trading cards and 22 achievements in a few hours. I didn't regret buying it. I suggest you watch a video of the gameplay though, just to be sure.

I picked up this game soley because it was $.49and it had cards which i knew would at some point pay for itself, I figured while I let the game run I'll at leats play a bit and see what quick acheivments i can get and then next thing I knew I had a few hours under the belt and still had no idea what exactly the game was about but I was oddly relaxed.
All in all the game is very repetitive but in a way that relaxes more than frustrates it has a simple gameplay and looks beautiful especially if you are able to sit in a dark room with the moniter on bright the colors and graphics really pull you in.
As far as gameplay goes I'm not sure exactly what they were going for but it was relaxing to play and still fun so 7.5/10

This is one relaxing game. You control a microorganism eating other microorganisms. That's pretty much all there is to it, but it's a relaxing game nonetheless.

Fun little casual game (i believe it is an ipad port). You play an organism and you eat little molecules to become bigger (a la spore, but you never get past small bug-size). Get it on sale if you want a fun 2-4 hour timesink (I 100%'d it in 3 hours).

Pros:
-Fun Gameplay for what it is
-Good chill music
-Great artstyle
-Plays well with controller (despite menus being buggy when trying to swap from kbm to controller sometimes)

Cons:
-AI can go full ♥♥♥♥♥♥ sometimes and pose no challenge
-AI is unbalanced on some levels, (i.e. #7 took me multiple tries, but then afterwards i destroyed the higher levels...)
-Could use more levels (you only get halfway up the evolution chart before you've already beaten everything, it got too repetitive for me to bother to max it out)

If you don't mind repetitive music, tedious clicking, and not much diversity in the name of 'evolution', this game is a buy for the price.

Graphics are pretty, it has cards to trade, couple of hours to perfect the achievements and if you catch it on discount, definetely a buy. Just don't expect anything like Spore, this one is a click and move game that takes 2-3 hours to do everything.

I must admit, it's a strange game. Sparkle 2 Evo is quite relaxing but challenging at the same time, evolving your way, with different paths to choose from, or make your own, how your creature evolves is up to you. I will admit, I got this game quite cheaply from a Steam Badge Discount, but I digress. If you have money to spare or have a coupon and want a relaxing game, this might be for you, with the controller support it ought to please a bigger crowd.

tl;dr: If the screenshots and description sound interesting, it'll be mildly amusing for 2-4 hours. Liked it, 3/5.

Remember that game "fl0w" that came out in 2006 for Flash/PS3/PSP/PS4/Vita? This is a lot like that, with a little more depth, and a little less polish. The goal is to eat more orbs than the other creatures in each level, either by eating free floating orbs, or by eating the orbs that make up other creatures. Depending on which color orbs you favor, your creature will evolve one of three ways, with red moving quickly, but eating slowly, green eating quickly, but moving slowly, and blue in between the two. Each evolution also has a unique special ability. A confusing boss fight aside(Hint: Double click his tentacles, work your way up to his head), it's a decent enough little game. The biggest complaints I had were the things that were unintuitive, and weren't explained in-game. I wasn't aware of how the evolution worked, nor was I able to figure out the boss fight, until I read this guide. Once I read that, it was smooth sailing.

All in all, there's not much depth, content, or replayability to the game, but there's nothing wrong with it either. The soundtrack and gameplay are nothing to write home about, but if whatever the current price is is worth it to you for 2-4 hours of mildly interesting singleplayer fun, then give it a try, you won't be dissappointed or impressed. If you can't decide if you should spend the money or not, skip it, you're not missing out on a hidden gem.

Fun little game you can spend a few hours on. Not challenging and it's not meant to be. If you like relaxing games then this is just for you. There is a competitive mode where you go against the AI but it's not hard at all.

This game is a yes if it's on sale. It's basically a remake of Fl0w (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flow_(video_game)) but with more levels and stuff (at least compared to the original free Flash version of Fl0w). It's pretty good, I guess, and sometimes it's really pretty. But... it's a little less soothing and and chill than Fl0w was. This game does seem to do more and be more than Fl0w, but it's just lacking that same feeling of Fl0w.

Overall, it's not bad, and I can recommend it to pass the time. But, for those of you who are expecting Fl0w, just be aware that you might not quite be getting it with this.

there are thoses fast pase holy crap whats happening
but then comes a clam quiet slow game
sparkle 2 evo is that calm relaxing game that makes hippies look like a rock band
with fun stages different species to eat it jsut makes the experience great
you wont get to many hours out of this is you zoom through every level
the only thing they should have added was multiplayer battles would have made the experience a little bit better
this game is a rewarding game you get about 2 achievements each game
i am giving this 8/10
