"Top down, Google Earth style racing. Really cool presentation and a ton of fun, with more realism than most racers. 8/10 (online isnt very active sadly)"

This is the best top-down racing game on steam. I don't normally play top-down racers, but when I do, it's Real World Racing.

That's about it, there is not much to it. It's a top-down racing game.

Or is it?

Pros:

+Top-down
+Very nice graphics
+Real cities
+Actually fun to drive (try that manual gear son)
+Engine sounds
+Day/Night concept in races
+Bonus objectives to complete during races
+Stuff unlocking
+Different race types (knock-out, one-on-one etc.)
+Multiple DLCs to download (including a zombie filled one)

Cons:

-Handling of cars can sometimes be frustrating - especially on higher tiers (those things fly)
-No car modifications (except colors)

That's about it. There is a career mode where you can climb the tiers up. Higher tier cars are harder to drive. The tracks tend to get harder as well. You will unlock special paint jobs for your vehicles. You will stack up money and buy new cars for higher tiers. I like the whole driving license thingy as well. I always liked that in a racing game. All in all, there is no way for me to not recommend this game.

On a final note, the developers are now working on a confirmed Real World Racing 2!

Bearing in mind that there are few top-down racers on Steam to choose from, i still recommend Real World Racing though if it had more competition then it would be a thumbs-down.
This game has so many flaws that will drive you up the wall, but it does at least remain fun throughout providing you have the patience.

Let's list them, shall we?
- This is a racing game, but one of the game modes (helicopter) requires you to stop-start and not drive as fast as you can. Plus you have to play it many, many times over in order to learn the route. It's dreadful in every conceivable way.
- There is no AI in the other cars, they all drive like morons, and if you happen to touch them then 99 times out of 100 you will come off worst, even if you're T-boning them.
- The main selling point of the game is that each 'track' is a real-world location using photographic data. Unfortunately some of these photographs use a really low resolution and look terrible on any large display.
- The game uses a scale of various vehicle traits with scores out of 10 for each one to help you work out which car is best for each event. But in nearly every case the figures are meaningless and do not reflect the performance of the car in any way.
- The cars are all modelled on real-life vehicles though i presume for licencing reasons, they have different names. A few of the cars appear to be performance-matched to the real-life counterparts which is good, but the rest of them do not. It's almost as if the developer's started down a path and then decided it was too much work and so didn't bother for the rest.
- At least 50% of the vehicles have the handbrake and brake functions the wrong way round.
- You will be restarting races a LOT.
- No really. Some of the secondary challenges require perfect runs and the AI is non-existent so you'll be crashing a lot through no fault of your own.
EDIT: Oh yeah and the game crashes on a regular basis too, especially when after a bazillion retries you finally succeed in a task.

It's not worth the £6.99 regular price, but do pick it up in a sale if you like top-down racing. Just don't expect too much.

Fun top-down racer. Physics and handling are tighter and more realistic/less arcadey than your typical top-down racer, but not quite to the extent of a full on racing sim. It looks great, and has plenty of content.

Really sweet game, and the developers are making a sequel that promises an even better experience. Highly recommend it to the casual racers. This is not a simulator, ok?

The game is alright, but yet for easy mode, it's kinda hard. but above all it's without any problems.
