About This Game

Set in Wild West, FESTER MUDD: CURSE OF THE GOLD is a three-part comic saga of exploration, reunion, and redemption...and a love letter to the classic adventure games of the 90s!

Roused from a life of sloth to reunite with his long-lost brother in search of unimaginable riches, reluctant hero Fester Mudd somehow manages to be intrepid but cowardly, ambitious yet lazy, dimwitted but brilliant.

In Episode 1, Fester hits the trail to join his brother, Bud, in the downtrodden town of Loamsmouth. But when Bud is found to have mysteriously vanished, Fester realizes that the journey will be far longer and more treacherous than he bargained for...and he must enlist the aid of an experienced gunslinger to help him make his way through Indian territory to track down both his missing brother and the gold that awaits them both!

But gunslingers don't come cheap...and Fester must find a way to convince him to join him on the perilous quest.

This Episode sees Fester exploring Loamsmouth and surrounding territories. Along the way, he'll meet and deal with an assortment of Old West roughnecks, flim-flammers, and other larger-than-life characters...and give adventure game fans a huge blast from the past!

Dull and slow, don't buy it, really. Dull. It's not worth your money!
Jokes not even close to any good gold era point and click game.
if you want some good old school quest time, choose Detective Case and Clown Bot instead.

Short and slightly funny. The humor doesn't get much deeper than fart jokes. It happens I actually find those a bit hilarious...

An easy clear too if you are one of those without much time to invest in gaming and huge, towering backlogs.

Good homage to the old PC adventure classics too, I felt right back at home with the interface.

Honestly I had fun playing it. The game was good, it felt like I was playing classic Sierra adventure game, the gameplay so far was enjoyable, the dialogue was well written. Warning Extremely( I mean "EXTREMELY") short game that basically leaves you on a cliffhanger. I guess its a given since its only episode 1.
Is it 9.99 worth of fun? Probably not. If your going to pony up the money think of it as a donation and hope for more episodes in the future. When compared to early point and click games this game feels more like a demo.

So I Recommend this game, but with a caution. This game is demo short. Buy it on sale or think of it as a donation because likely your not going to get your bang for your buck.

From what I can see in the Forum likely this game will never be truly complete

I grew up with classics like Day of the tentacle and the Monkey Island series, so i had to buy this game!

It's kind of short, but i really enjoyed it and can't wait for the next episode :)

Pretty enjoyable point and click adventure game, but far from worth $10. You can finish the whole game in under two hours. If you can pick it up on a very big sale, it was kind of fun if you want a simple western themed Maniac Mansion throwback

A quite charming point and click game with fairly good puzzles and the usual "silly adventure game"-logic so expect quite odd solutions. The jokes and references are mostly good but some fall a bit flat but thats quite hard to avoid.

There are a few missable achievements in the game but you will encounter most of them by exploring the game and reading the achievement descriptions for hints (quite hint free).

Time to 100%: ~2 hours

This is an awesome little retro game. The puzzles are complicated enough to be entertaining but easy enough to not put a serious dent on your afternoon. There are many entertaining in-jokes that harken back to the 80s and 90s. I think old-school adventure gamers will likely be the ones who appreciate this game the most, but it is suitable for new players too.

An enjoyable take on the point-and-click-then-point-and-click-again adventure games from the golden ages when LucasArts and Sierra made their classics. Expect plenty of slapstick humor, retro styled graphics, crude sound effects, 8-bit tunes and a very short gameplay experience (episode one of three come).

I would not recommend purchasing this at the current full price of $10, since you can run through it in an hour or so, but definitely pick it up on sale or off a bundle. Nostalgia filled sighs and giggles are guaranteed. 4/5

When Fester Shinetop visits Bumpusville, he plays this game and enjoys it thoroughly.
The journey is quite short, but it's a very entertaining journey.

Funny game, good way to spend 2-3 hours when you're bored. Can't wait for the second episode! :D Though I don't think it's worth €9, as it doesn't last very long, but still fun nonetheless.

Very nice classic style adventure. Really funny but... it´s very very easy and short to medium-advanced adventure players. It would have been better to put a price 5€ max... ¿three episodes = 27€? Maybe too expensive.

Worth the holiday sale price tag but not worth the full price of $10.

It's split in episodes so it is relatively short. A couple hours for a play through. Plays just like older LucasArts style adventure games. Story is moderately humorous. None of the puzzles were overly complicated as I was only "stuck" once. After a lap around the game world I was no longer "stuck".

One of the better titles from Replay Games, Fester Mudd - Curse of the Gold, Episode One has some great ideas within it and a wonderful nostalgic overtone that really sends players reminiscing about the finer Sierra games from the late 1980's and early 1990's. The soundtrack is enjoyable and the graphics are stylish and cartoony. However at the asking price of $9.99 the mere two hours of game play that the audience will receive doesn't seem worth it at this point. It's highly recommended to wait until this title ends up in an Indie Gala or Humble Bundle, or until all three episodes are released; at which time they may be bundled together for one price. Look forward to Episode Two, however wait this purchase out until then.

A decent classic styled adventure game. Very closely resembles games with SCUMM scripting from Lucasarts. Really captures the feel and nostalgia of those adventure games.

Some of the puzzles are obvious and easy to figure out, but did not deter from the overall experience too much. Even most of the achievements are pretty easy to figure out as well. You can get most of them by accident.

The first episode is very short. You should wait for a sale/bundle if you want to make sure you get your money's worth. The regular price of $10 is a bit high for how short it is.
