Put on headphones and jump into an eerie dungeon.
Find shopkeep and drop dynamite.
Shopkeep gets angry and chases after me.
Run loops around the shopkeep and steal all of his merchandise.
Run to next stage only get gimped by a bunch of fishmen.

Think of a resident evil one where you can only carry two items (rock, knife), but with H.P. Lovecraft characters.

One of the best horror games I have played, especially as I usualy dislike horror as a genre. Instead of cheap jump scares this game uses several other great ways to keep the tension and fear, great sound design, unkillable enemies that follow you, weaping angel style characters. Some real great stuff that's worth a play. 9/15

Absolutely love the atmosphere in this game. Simultaneously chilling, yet comforting. A fantastic play on a rainy night.

The exploration feels labyrinthian without feeling tedious or repetitive. It's balanced, too - the character pacing is nice and item placement is fair.

I bought this game after watching someone stream parts of it; even if I'd seen most of what there was to see, I wanted to experience it firsthand -- definitely worth it.

Eldritch is a first person rogue-like game where the levels are always randomized and you go around collecting weapons to help you survive until you reach the exit. The atmosphere and sounds are very well done which really gives you the sense of spookiness and horror of H.P. Lovecraft. The game does get somewhat repetitive after dozens of rounds as the concept is the same over and over (collect items and get to the exit), however the levels become more challenging and require some strategy to complete the levels.

this is my favorite fps ever
granted im not super into the fps genre but i think this game is really a cut above the rest
you kinda die a lot at first as you learn how things work but once you get it down you find you can craft a lot of cool really intelligent workarounds for challenges you face with careful planning and observation and other times you find that the best solution is sprinting past a bunch of monsters and crouch sliding into a hole and falling down two stories
so its pretty cool no matter what happens

Great, great game. Very good to play if you are bored. The first book is quite easy but it steadily gets more challenging. They actually do update it, to my knowledge the Asylum is a new addition! In short, I highly recommend this game.

This game seems like it tries to be too many things at once, and fails at all of them. Though eldritch aspects are clearly evoked (shoggoths, lizardmen, and other things with altogether too many eyes and tentacles and not enough pleasantness), the game inspires no cosmic horror, instead creating jump-scare horror at best. The graphics and design don't feel pleasantly nostalgic, they simply feel like the creators didn't try too terribly hard and just labeled it a "voxel" game to ride that trend. The controls and interface are not user-friendly, and the gameplay swiftly becomes dreadfully same-y.

As it is a roguelike, of course, your gameplay experience will be a bit different every time you play. But my experience was not one which made me at all interested in playing the game more than the earnest try I gave it; you can look at a pile of rubbish from many different angles, but that won't change what it fundamentally is.

*This is entirely based on personal opinion but I think its worth sharing for a few people who might save their money.*
I honestly like the themes and principles of this game quite a lot. It has unique and linear gameplay that still feels open-world and has consequences. The lovecraftian influence is a neat novelty, with interesting flavor.
However:
The game is very, very easy, relying mostly on grinding for supplies and unlocking powers and such. Most of all though, and this is entirely on me, I just find the Minecraft-homage graphics very ugly and distracting from the experience. A game meant to be so immersive and involved just loses all charm in faux 8-bit choppiness.
To anyone this doesn't seem bad to, go for it! Neat ideas here. To those who agree with me, save your $15

Being a Lovecraft fan, this game catched my eye a few times and I finally decided to grab it when it was on sale.

It turned out to be a great decision.

Elditch is a game that could be the example of 'roguelike' genre in game encyclopedias. It shows that permadeath is not the only issue for being a roguelike. In this game, there is a chance that you will suffer a horrible death while equipping a pickaxe and a revolver (best equipment combination in my opinion), while at the same time you can finish the game with a single piece of rock.

With the RNG factor, game gives you ultimate freedom for designing your build. You don't start with selecting a class, you choose your own class with your tactics. You can avoid enemies with being silent and invisible, you can kill everyone on your way with a load of bullets and weapons, you can even be Sanic with proper boots and equipment and run to the exit while ignoring everything.

Atmosphere is simply brilliant. Difficulty is well-balanced and sountrack just fits the dark atmosphere.
Like the enemies weren't already tough, with their noises, you always feel their breath on your back. Better than any thriller. You will sh*t bricks with enemies jumping from corners, especially with a headphone. I also have to mention the invulnerable enemies. Especially Lizard Statues makes you believe in god and beg for mercy from him.
Floors are really well-designed. Traps can possibly be anywhere on a floor and in some cases, you have to be really careful in order to dodge them. So you know, you can always run from scary enemies but you can't escape.

If saying those haven't made it obvious, replayability value is really high. If you somehow become able to steal multiple items from the shops without a scratch, congratulations, you have won the game.

The only flaw I could think of would be the limited item pool, but considering that current items provide you basically everything you could do within the game mechanics, it is not a big issue.

Overall, this game is right in every possible way. A true gem. Can't recommend it enough.

It's a relatively compelling and interesting game. The gameplay is satisfying (albeit repetetive after 5+ hours), with some item collection and upgrades, and the levels are properly designed and have defined ends. Worth looking into.

Heard a familiar gurgle. Jumped gleefully out of my hiding spot. Expected a fountain. Ran into a Shoggoth. It screamed. I screamed. Climbed back. It jumped and followed me. Tried to build walls around it. It escaped and got tired of me, ran after the Fishpeople.

Through most of the negative comments im seeing, most people obviously havent seen all there is to the game. The game is really fun, and creative. There are plenty of items for a relatively short game. I have played this game quite a bit, and the game can get really hard at times. When you get a soul and progress, you can unlock the new areas, but if you die, you lose that soul, and you do need that soul to unlock something. I have no idea what it is, but that still means there is more to this game. Its really fun, creepy, and cool. I really recommend it.

I threw a rock at a penguin. The rock bounced back and killed me. It was at that moment that I realized the true purpose of this software: It is a penguin fisticuffs simulator.

The rest of the simulator, or as I like to call it, "the penguin preperation precourses", also happens to be superb. I am now fully prepared to defeat abnormally large penguins in unarmed combat.

This game is very interesting as in it is able to look so harmless but at times in this game it can be so stressful and heart pounding with those weeping angle lizards that scare the ♥♥♥♥ out of you. Anything can be overcome with some TNT and any enemy can be beaten to a pulp with a rock... The stealth is a great addition too that allows you to be a true ninja.

THIS IS THE REAL TOMB RAIDER!
