At first I didn't really feel like I was enjoying it, but quickly I was unable to stop playing it. 2 hours passed bofore I was able to stop playing it for the first time. Was very unexpected. Keep an eye out for when this game goes on sale or is in a bundle. Nice little time killer.

I was actually very surprised by this game! wasn't expecting so much fun. I played through it very smoothly and never got bored of it. gameplay is fun, graphics are nice, the game is challenging (not very hardcore, but it is not the easiest game either). Recommended, absolutely.

I just beat Steamworld Dig, with a little over 10 hours of gameplay. I got it from a Humble Bundle, and it just kinda sat there in my library. I decided to give it a try.

This game can easily be beaten in 2 hours, but I am a completionist and got a lot out of it. It's a nice game, but I wouldn't buy it for the $11 asking price (I'm a cheapass). If I wasn't broke, I'd surely pay $20 for this game. This is the developers first PC title, and it's impressive. It's a nice indie game, and definitely worth your time.

For what it is, I give it a full 10/10.

SteamWorld Dig is quite a fun mining game where you mine as deep as you can to earn ores and money to upgrade your tools and town. The achievements are interesting and I like some of the hidden easter eggs. The graphics are nice and the upgrades are hard to obtain in the beggining as well as the expendable items. Controls are wonky but it can all pass.

>I'd give it around 8.5/10
>Pros: Graphics, Achievements and Cards, you've got to be careful as to what you're doing until you get more items, death is punishing, upgrades are pretty cool, as you progress you unlock your town entirely.
>Cons: Not that many different enemies, death can be too punishing, expensive expendables, wonky controls, controls make you lose some items by accidentaly pressing them, no way to get rid of the placed items/cannot be retrieved, some parts are very annoying.

A bit like Terraria but with more of a console type feel. It's okay. I give it three out of five bagels.

This game is so so so addicting.
The plot is that you are a miner robot exploring the depths of a mine, searching for the clues your dead uncle left you down there, and maybe, trying to reach the end?

It's basically about exploring and gathering treasure. With treasure you buy upgrades which allow you to go down faster/safer. You have a lot of tools and ways to deal with different situations, which makes exploration really fun.

Enviroments are very pretty and varied, and you have a lot of enemies types, which add difficulty to the task.

One thing to keep in mind is that this is not a hardcore game. The only penalty for dying is that you loose half your money.

Surprising and fun, the Metroidvania tag certainly applies. Steamworld Dig has just enough story to be interesting and exactly the right pace of upgrades and new abilities to constantly feel refreshing. Combined with a lack of bombastic, in-your-face tutorials and a moderate learning curve, it makes the player feel accomplished with each new discovery. If you like exploration platformers, you're bound to love it. You'll love it even moreso if you appreciate the steambot aesthetic.

Pretty fun game with a decent soundtrack. Combat and mining are both pretty basic, but the upgrades provide noticeable improvements to speed and damage. There's really no voice acting, so the character noises can become a bit annoying after hearing them several times. Achievements aren't too hard to get for the most part, but some are a bit tricky. Not too many different enemies to fight, and some are considerably more difficult than others. Overall, a decent indie game.

half way between metroid and terraria, Steamworld Dig is a fun lightherarted digging adventure. The depth of the game increases slightly as it goes on becoming harder and more interesting but for the most part what you see is what you get. Best played in 30m to 2hr blocks..........

Release a game number 2 with more upgrades and a longer story, that would be perfect right now..
This game has a nice adventure, feels pretty much as minecraft but i liked this a little bit better the first days playing it. I finished the game in less than a week, and the game is not to be played after finishing it. So really just an update where we get a longer story or more upgrades would be nice, i would accept DLC's to the game aswell. Really anything to make the story longer would be nice.

The game has no illusions about what it is and what it intends for you to do: dig, gather minerals and sometimes hit bugs just like you're hitting stones. An hour in and if I wasn't listening to podcasts I would be extremely ♥♥♥♥ed that I just wasted that much time. Progression is slow; you have to methodically chip away at the walls and make sure that you've got some openings on the walls on the off chance you pass under some minerals that you cannot reach. You can expand your pack but you're still running back to the nearest teleporter every few minutes to drop off another load in the hopes that you can afford a decent upgrade.

The platforming is stiff and entirely reliant on finding certain upgrades rather than any actual skill: if you can't reach it, you're not meant to yet. Oh and there is some light backtracking, great.

It's just a mindless, bland little game. Lovely graphics and a cute idea but if you have any other game to play, do that instead.

Steam World Dig is a casual little game. It was very siimple and fun I enjoyed it very much. The art style is very nice, the humour was funny, and the gameplay was simple. Overall I had a fun time, it was like if you combined the mining of terraria with a little dig dug and mario. Would reccomend to anyone who feels like playing a simple yet enjoyable game.

P.S there's a half-life 3 joke :)
