"Suffers from questionable and repetitive design but still manages some nice atmosphere and scares. Stands out in the flood of Slender games."

About This Game

You're on your own. No one to come for you. No one to help you. No one to hear you scream. Slender: The Arrival is the official videogame adaption of Slender Man, developed in collaboration with Eric "Victor Surge" Knudson, creator of the paranormal phenomenon that has been terrifying the curious-minded around the world since its inception, with Mark Hadley and Blue Isle Studios.

Back in 2012, Mark Hadley (AgentParsec) created a game that captivated gamers around the world. Slender: The Eight Pages was a short, experimental first-person game that helped breathe new life into the horror genre through its use of unadulterated tension and fear.

Experience the horror all over again.

Slender: The Arrival is the official re-imagining and expansion of the original game created by Mark Hadley, teamed up with the writers behind the Marble Hornets series and the development team at Blue Isle Studios. The Arrival features a brand new storyline, improved visuals, great replay value, and most importantly, survival horror at its best.

The Arrival officially supports the Oculus Rift – a next generation virtual headset designed for super immersive gaming! The Rift intensifies the fear-factor, and gives players a brand new, immersive horror experience.

Was really impessed with this little horror treat. Beautiful graphics, great suspense building and effective jumpscares. Only downside, was very brief, could realistically finish it in 2 hours. Took me 3.6 because I'm a thorough explorer and I died a lot... first time I saw Slender I just ran right up to him to say hi... But other than that, it's much better than expected. And well worth it at the sale price of 3.99. I would place it somewhere between The Vanishing of Ethan Carter and Outlast, as far as style and gameplay. If you like either one of those, and a good jumpscare, you'll like this one. The story seemed like a prologue, so hopefully it's just The Arrival and we'll see some fully fleshed out sequels. Definitely tracking this studio to see what they come up with next.

This is a nice game for people who are into the horror genre. Although it's a little bit short, the game is really fun, and the scare factor is definitely noticeable. What's really good about this game is the atmosphere and detail of each level, and the way it really lets you be absorbed into it. I recommend this for anyone who enjoys atmospheric and or scary games.

A reasonably good horror game. It is easy to lose the plot a little but it almost does not matter as it is pretty obvious your aim is to find someone and not die in the process. Beyond that the atmosphere is great and the scares are well delivered. It tends to build up the tension slowly, allowing you to wind yourself up more and more until the game feels ready to jump out on you and see if you snap.

My play through was pretty short, but I am told there are a number things I missed and it is possible another play through would let me find some different areas.

If you love horror games this is a must have game really, but keep your expectations at a mid level.

Before playing this game, I've heard and knew a bit about Slender Man and other related stuff, but not much. So that said, I was curious to give this game a go, especially since I love horror games and giving myself a good scare once in awhile. Let's just say that this game did not disappoint. Although it was a bit of a short game as I clocked in around 2.5 hours, completing it in two sessions, I've got no regrets about purchasing or playing the game. It was a good experience I enjoyed, which is what matters. And if I must say so, I was quite a fan of the soundtrack for this game, which I also purchased as well. I find it goes well with the game itself and definitely adds in that scare factor. It can also be creepy as well. I was impressed with the graphics. And controller support was a nice bonus too, as I was initially unsure if this game had it or not. And finally, I think this game has a pretty good story as well, which is an important thing I look for when I play video games. This game definitely has my curiosity of Slender Man intrigued now as I'm pretty sure I'm going to be looking more into this Slender Man stuff more. All in all, I enjoyed this game and I'd recommend it, especially if you want a good scare. And keeping in mind, I played the entire game in a pitch dark room with headphones.

Theirs nothing sexy, than a tall skinny guy stalking you in the woods. This game did give me the jumps. Reason why: Loud sounds, slender kinda just pops up out of no where.

Pros
Graphics amazing
Game is randomly generated. Items you found in the bathroom may not be there next time.
Sound quality good

Sitting in the pitch black darkness, i'm on the mouse. my side dude is on the keyboard. Never kenked our strides so much! screaming, laughing feeling part of the slender experience. I think slendy is getting a media bashing when really hes a down to earth kind of guy with a "smashing" dress sense, hes just just wants to be loved and eat your face.. Peace out home slices!

Maybe the scare factor of the original Slender had already worn off by the time this was released, but I didn't find it all that compelling.

But that's just me, everybody else seems to love it. I personally recommend the original over this one though. It's free.
