Lo que dicen los desarrolladores:

“Sins of a Dark Age Early Access is here! Its already fun, very stable and has loads of content but we still have a lot of work to do. Want to provide feedback and influence our next objectives? Join up, open your Welcome Chest and enter the battle!

1. Why is our game in Early Access?
First, Sins of a Dark Age (Soada) has a number of incomplete features and experimental ideas that we would like a lot more feedback on. Second, Soada is a complex online game that needs a lot of testing in key areas such as server load capacity, game balance and matchmaking. Early Access allows us to get the volume we need to do this testing without overloading our systems.

2. How long do we plan to be in Early Access?
As long as necessary but we expect it to last months, not years.

3. What is the current state of the game?
Soada is still in development so there are bugs, incomplete features, placeholder assets, unoptimized code and balance issues. The Ai Heroes (aka Golems) are not very bright yet so they won't pose much of a challenge yet. Most importantly we have not been able to fully test our server load capacity which is one of our major reasons for entering the Early Access program. However, even in this state the game is stable, very fun, and has loads of content.

4. What content is missing or placeholder?
There are too many to list but some of the more obvious ones are:
  • Many icons are placeholder (esp Hero Gear).
  • Many Hero Skin paintings are missing.
  • Many sounds, music tracks and vocals not hooked up yet.
  • Lots of front-end and in-game user interface elements are not complete.
  • The Hero compendium is missing tons of data, especially the Lore and Tips in the Inspect Hero section.
  • There are missing Heroes and missing Hero Skins.
  • Lots more missing!

5. What content are we planning to add to the game?
In a nutshell almost every type of content in the game will be growing over time including lore, materials, recipes, Heroes, Hero Skins, Hear Gear, and Quests. But we also have a list of other content to add that we aren't ready to talk about yet. The list of upcoming features below hints at some of the new content.

6. What features are we planning to add to the game?
Listing all future features is an impossible task especially since we expect them to change in response to feedback and ideas from Early Access players. In that light I will only list the ones we have a reasonably high confidence in:
  • Pets
  • Hero Gear for specific Heroes
  • Hero Gear Sets
  • Recorded games
  • Spectator mode
  • Advanced Ping system
  • New Ai for Heroes (aka Golems)
  • More crafting options
  • Game History
  • Achievements
  • League/Ladder/Leaderboards
  • New Modes (e.g. cooperative)
  • New Maps and Environments
  • In-Game Friend Status
  • Additional Steam integration
  • Systems to improve player behavior

7. What is our pricing strategy during and after Early Access?
Early Access is priced at $4.99 but in appreciation of your support you will receive a reward worth far more than $4.99 (see the next question for details). Ultimately, Sins of a Dark Age will become a Steam Free to Play game but we felt it was necessary to gate Early Access for 3 main reasons:
  • To limit the load on our servers until they are fully tested.
  • To provide a solid new user experience.
  • To help ensure we get dedicated testers.

8. What do you get for joining Early Access?
  • You get immediate access to Sins of a Dark Age and you have a chance to influence its remaining development by providing feedback on the forums, participating in our public bug tracker on GitHub or by playing the game so we can collect valuable gameplay and performance data.
  • Every Early Access player will receive a Welcome Chest containing 1 of 3 bundles. In appreciation of your support we've include far more than $4.99 worth of content in each bundle.
  • You will find your Welcome Chest and Key in your inventory when you start the game. Click "Profile" from the top menu to locate the inventory tab. Once in the inventory, move your cursor over the Chest and click the yellow button to open it.
  • When you open your Welcome chest, 1 of the 3 bundles will be selected at random. Each bundle contains an equal value of content and has an equal chance of being selected.

Here are the contents of each bundle:

Berserk Bundle:
  • Rare Skin (Bombardier Slag)
  • Uncommon piece of Hero Gear (Battleborn Axe)
  • Rare Skin Recipe (Recipe: Skylance Torrace)
  • Uncommon Materials (Imperial Brocade x 2)
  • Common Materials (Meteor Metal x 3)

Merciless Bundle:
  • Rare Skin (Tundral Skalla)
  • Uncommon piece of Hero Gear (Bloodthirst Bracers)
  • Rare Skin Recipe (Recipe: Luna Moth Vexie)
  • Uncommon Material (FaerieDust x 1)
  • Uncommon Material (Fungal Spore x 1)
  • Common Materials (Moss x 2)
  • Common Material (Tattered Linen x 1)

Resolute Bundle:
  • Rare Skin (Fireshroud Atasha)
  • Uncommon piece of Hero Gear (Heart of Valor)
  • Rare Skin Recipe (Recipe: Stoneguard Beroth)
  • Uncommon Material (Subterranean Stone x 1)
  • Uncommon Material (Stinging Vines x 1)
  • Common Materials (Moss x 3)

Here is an explanation of what each bundle element means:

  • Skin: Skins are used to change the appearance of your Hero. In Soada you can either buy skins from the in-game Shop, find them in treasure chests, or craft them from collected materials.
  • Hero Gear: Hero Gear is one of the most valuable ways to customize your strategy before entering a match. Hero gear is never sold in the Shop and can only be found in treasure chests or crafted from materials.
  • Skin Recipe: Skin recipes are only found in loot drops or treasure chests. They are usually the most rare item required to craft a skin so they tend to be quite valuable.
  • Materials: These are only found in loot drops or treasure chests and are required to craft a variety of goods such as Hero Gear and Skins. Each Early Access bundle contains enough materials to complete roughly 25% of the included Skin recipe.

9. What are the initial testing and feedback goals?
  • Hero build viability (both in-game and meta-game)
  • Game balance
  • Game duration
  • Alternate Quest Reward Systems
  • Loot Reward system
  • Crafting system
  • Community Market integration
  • Server optimization and load testing
  • Client optimization and compatibility
  • Matchmaking

10. How can the Steam Community help us during our development process?
  • The best way to help is to play the game regularly as this provides us with valuable gameplay data, performance data and stresses our systems. Sometimes the worst bugs are the ones that are difficult to reproduce. The more matches that are played the better our chances of finding and fixing them.
  • If you would like to be more involved we have two in-game buttons that allow you to provide feedback, ideas and report problems.
  • The Forums button takes you directly to the official forums which we monitor frequently. Periodically, we will copy certain types of reports to the public bug tracker on GitHub to improve our organization and work flow.
  • The Official Bug Report button takes you directly to our public facing bug tracker on GitHub where any player can view, edit and add issues. This system is great for the community as they can see what is going on and its great for us because we get a lot of crowd sourced data on what bugs exist and under what conditions they may occur.

11. Where are the Early Access servers located?
  • Early Access servers are only located in North America but we will add more geographic regions as our testing requires. Europe will likely be next. Some players from Europe have reported that playing on the North American servers is acceptable but for some it is not. There is a known bug we are tracking that definitely affects players across the Atlantic (or with pings above a certain duration) that makes it even worse under certain conditions. We are working to correct this now.

Thanks for considering Sins of a Dark Age Early Access. We hope to you see you online soon!

  • Revised attribute description strings in the Hero Comparison window for clarity. Critical Strike Damage also amended to mention its new behavior from last update.
  • Camera edge strafing speed can now controlled in the options menu.
  • Tooltip behavior modified to have a hover time tolerance. This allows moving the mouse quickly over user interface components on HUD to get to edge scrolling without tooltips popping up when not wanted.

  • Front end escape menu button now has proper hover state and tooltip.
  • Fixed bug when viewing game history dialog where the gameId was not being displayed next to the previous and next arrows of the dialog.

The twitch integration stuff is amazing. I really like the built in giveaway system for viewers who have linked their twitch account with their SOADA account. Once an hour seems like a perfect cooldown to gift to viewers. It even announces in chat who won!

This game has a lot of potential as a free to play title on steam in a genre that is pretty saturated. I've played all of the other "big mobas" out there right now and this one was actually fun for me. I'm not even a moba player. Maybe that has something going for it...appealing to those outside of their normal genre?

Great job so far Ironclad, i'm looking forward to playing this with friends and to see where you take this game.

This was the first time I ever played a moba, I played Dota2 but never really into it and only played because a friend told me to and they just called me a Russian, with Sins the community is friendly to new players like myself, I started of not knowing what to do and people reccomended me items and heros and I eventually got better, the game gives skins and crafting recipes which do not require payment as they can be dropped as well as many items, although the game is in Early Access it seems complete as the only complaint I can think of is the lack of players which will change soon when the game becomes free to play, the game offers a large range of items used to make the crafting recipes as well as a leveling system with daily rewards and such, although another complaint I do have is that it is not so noob friendly as most veterans play but when more players come there will be a tutorial system and such.

Thank you for taking the time to read my review.

Game is still in Beta, but it's already making me start it daily. Games are usually fast enough, so you can just check in for a game or two. I can recommend this one.

It is a fantastic MOBA! I like the fact that you can add equpiment and extra skill sets on top of what you get in a match. For being in beta, this is really, really well done. It's just a little slow finding a match to play right now because there are so few people who know about it!

Играю в раннем доступе, единственный, и самый ужасный минус игры- отвратная оптимизация, та же Дота2(которая выглядит в разы сочнее) выдаёт 60 фпс, эта же игра при скудной графике проседает до 25-30=\

I've been dabbling with it for about a year now in its early access state. At first, I was extremely disappointed with the team having dropped the Commander Mode component that I was really looking forward to. The same mode that was also supposed to differentiate SoaDA from other MOBAs.

I have dipped one toe after another into its glistening waters, slowly immersing myself into it, constantly wondering if I'm making the "right" decision, because SoaDA has no shortage of competition and many of its competitors have larger communities with instant queue times.

I have waited to post this review until I could definitively state whether SoaDA truly is worth forsaking so many other options... and I find the verdict to be that it is.

What wisdom do I have to offer those dangling on the same decision? And to those who want to know if SoaDA is $5 well-spent?

The best wisdom I can offer on the matter is that SoaDA is "different". While it pushes a plethora of features that other MOBAs do not, none will jump off the page at you to differentiate it from other options. The "difference" comes from playing it, getting a feel for it, and immersing yourself in its world.

It starts with its cast of heroes. I was originally disappointed here because, coming from Demigod, heroes with four active abilities and one passive compared to heroes with a wide array of abilities accessed via an actual skill tree is a little bit of a letdown. But while SoaDA will never compete with Demigod when it comes to having the most customizable and versatile heroes, it offers the next-best thing, and the way that works out, that's just fine.

SoaDA's heroes are well-designed. They're limited in number compared to its peers, but SoaDA makes up for this by distinctly nailing the "feel" of each hero. They're all excellent in their own ways, but a few in particular absolutely exemplify this. Rachna, a spider queen, plays the role of a support tank, and she achieves her tankiness organically through her spiders' mere presence while she casts abilities leveraging only the resources of cooldown and spider consumption. Drengar, a melee berserker, activates abilities off cooldown and passively builds rage by chaining ability use against foes to initiate berserk mode- between this and his actual abilities, he exactly replicates the feeling of commanding an actual berserker, making little to no compromise to achieve that. Ziri could be yet another ranged carry, but she uses stamina which has a fixed amount and a fixed (high) regen rate to use her abilities, turning her into an acrobatic assassin rather than one that can only piece together a smooth move every once in awhile. And there are plenty of other examples, but these stick out immediately.

Beyond the heroes, SoaDA's quest system feels like the natural evolution of the themed maps in Blizzard's Heroes of the Storm (even though to the public eye I believe SoaDA's quests predate HotS's maps). Whereas the themed maps in HotS are hugely impactful yet repetitive and all-too-short, SoaDA's quests are built for the long game, and fighting to win each proves more epic and the long game of which team can rack up the most quest wins does an excellent job of being impactful yet subtle (compared to HotS where it often is match-deciding). The sheer ability of these quests to force teams to completely dismantle their typical strategies and scramble to work towards a quest while still managing lane attack and defense creates a frantic yet structured atmosphere that manages to work well even without closely-coordinated teams.

SoaDA also does an excellent job of ticking quality checkboxes. The game is responsive, the UI is effective, the options are gushing, the controls are customizable... Even in early access, the game already sports excessive refinement in these areas that allow it to compare well to titans of the genre and industry.

SoaDA also offers some things that other MOBAs barely, if at all, do. On paper, its progression-based mechanics to acquire and allocate skill points, hero gear, and other items obtained from playing the game reeks of an attempt to hook into online FPSes' craze with these kinds of things, but SoaDA does it responsibly. The tweaks are slight- but notable- and allow skill to dominate (for example, leveling-up to be able to use more skill points doesn't actually mean you get more skill points in a match, it just means you get to choose where more of those skill points go- everyone otherwise gets generically handicapped to compete with the highest skillpoint player). The customization is welcome though. I mentioned before how Demigod extracted a lot of versatility out of a low number of heroes, and this is how SoaDA achieves the same. The newest hero gear is actually hero-specific and can modify things like how a hero's ability works, which is really neat to see.

Thus far, I'd rate SoaDA's approach to all of this to be most inline with Team Fortress 2, but whereas I feel like TF2 has spiraled into a mess whereby if you lost track of the game for even a tiny bit you have no idea what you're facing, SoaDA is introducing all of this at a more tractable pace and the variation, while significant for the user, is slight enough for the opponent that you can get away with being behind the curve on the latest gear to hit the street.

And what about those abilities? One of the reasons that gear to alter their behavior is so awesome is that the abilities are tightly integrated to the hero and game world. Whereas HotS allows plenty of customization of abilities, most tweaks tend to adjust numbers or improve one part of the ability. SoaDA abilities to begin with tend to be far more active than HotS and other MOBA abilities. For example, nearly all abilities require skillshots or area/directional targeting. This is where the hero gear really comes into play because it directly modifies how it feels to make that skillshot or perform the targeting and immediately modifies how you approach combat.

In all, SoaDA is an excellent MOBA game and I recommend it most highly to players who are fatigued with the genre's current banner bearers. It offers something familiar yet strikingly different and refreshing.

------Summary---------

I have been dragged into playing many MOBA games with my friends and most of which I don't enjoy because of repetitivity, balancing, and just crapping developer support, and many other things I would propably hit the character cap listing them.

This is the first MOBA I have actually had fun playing. It shines above the others for so many reasons. I will say a few below, but first the next paragraph is why I have high hopes about this games development.

Ironclad also developed a game called Sins Of A Solar Empire (an RTS). The game uses a lot of aspects that would be used in the making of a MOBA. It was also designed so well the games final full size is 2.35 GB and its decently expansive. It had its problems, but the main thing is the developer spent a lot of time working with its community to try to make the best of it. Even to the point of implementing an optimation designed by members of its community.

--------Positives----------

In the trailer quests are mentioned. These quests are various objectives that include playing a different gamemode within the 3 lane map right in the middle of the game to slaying the more powerful monsters on the map. The team that completes the quest first grants a reward that empowers the team with a different effect for each quest for a duration until the next quest. Example would be the first quest that has you playing a game of conquest like from battlefield, for winning extra minions spawn and walk with you around the map.

Hero design in much more in depth and serious. Voice acting is more in character. Graphical design really defines who the character is (Example of this would be a hero that is desease ridden. he looks absolutly disqusting, he also coughes up stuff when he stands still). The characters abilities directly correspond with who they are (Examples would be that if you were to look at the character you would beable to assume how there abilities would look).

Interface is really well done. Its very easy to understand. You can get item sets prepared much quicker and easily, it can also be done just as fast in game.

The jungle is more like a jungle. As in its much more chaotic and none linear. Lots if different ways to go.

A masteries like system its implemented individually for each Hero and can modified easily. In order to get points for it you earn them by playing that Hero.

4 out of game items can be given to any Hero to modify the Hero's stats. These items are constructed through materials that you earn from a completed match or getting them through purchases, trading, or gifting. So far this is the only area of gameplay that is directly effected by microtransactions. Its rather minor. These items can still be earned in game regardless of payments.

You can try any Hero at the touch of a button against AI. Also you can see the 3D models of Heros and their skins in the menu.

The summoner spells equivalent known as Glyphs behave more like skills and can be upgraded as you level up. You get to choose the path of the specific glyph upgrade.

The 1v1/2v2 gamemode has taken on a very fun and competive style.

As an overall the graphics are good. Most PCs with entry graphics should be able to play this game fine.

+ More that I can't think of right now

-----Negatives------

Late game optimatization causes frame rate loss.

Not enough players. Spread the word !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pros:
- Graficas Aceptables y si tienes buena PC exelentes.

Hello guys,
After few days i can share my experience about this game :)
I really enjoy my time playing here, the community is good and friendly, but with low player base its normal, later when this game will be free to play and more people will join, it will be the same as every other game. But atm the community is really good, Developers are active, and playing with us too. Will talk about low player base later.

- The fight mechanics are similar to league of legends, but here you can't auto attack with A + left click, but besides that the spells and movement works the same.
EDIT: you can make attack move by pressing T. Thanks Ekko Tek :p

- Editing hero: its similar to LoL again, you can costumize your hero attributes, and make your own item build and use gear items to gain more good stats. It's like the mastery system in LoL, you gain +1 attribute point each time your player levels up. You will get some gear items from the chests you gain when you start, and later you have a chance to get other gear items as reward for first win of the day, or maybe you can get them for playing games too, not sure about that sofar i only got materials and Recipe for skin :)
I like the hero editing here, better than the mastery system in LoL. And it feels more like rpg'ish :)

-Crafting: you can craft skins, gear items, Lores from materials, you can get materials from daily first win of the day, and rewards after match.
EDIT 2015.01.03.: You can get random items by leveling up your "Virtue level", even have a chance to get Skins, recipies and the other cool stuffs :) This kinda an inspiration to be nice to others ( which should be a common thing ofc ), and play nicely :) But at this moment the community is nice and helpful anyway :)
Means you can get free skins and good stuffs without paying anything, but needs time :)
This is similar to Dota 2 stuff, but there you dont need to craft :) They are tradeable, so you can sell them on steam market, and get the ones you like :) They have different rarity: trash, common, uncommon, rare.

-Glyphs: these are like summoner spells in LoL, BUT you can choose them ingame, and they are different. They got 3 levels, and you can build one Glyph 2 different way :) This is a very good feature that i really like, more variety. And you can have 2 different Glyph spells.

-Itemization: there are a lot of items you can choose, all of them fine. Many situational items and basic ones you need.

-Ingame Quests: there are many ingame quests that gives your team money reward or other special buffs. They have very random sequence each match. They are very challenging especially when you play vs players :)
So teamwork is very important, just like in every other moba game :p

-Matchmaking: you can search for 2 matches at same time! this is a really cool feature, especially when the game will grow later :) finding a match will be very easy. At this moment it's not really effective, due to low player base, but it will be fine.
EDIT 2014.12.31.::::: Also new players don't have to worry about "veterans" will have advantage vs them, because they are higher level ( means more attribute points to spend ). When you get matched with a lower level, everyone gets reduced their attribute points to the same level as the lowest player have. This helps to make the game more balanced on stats :)
EDIT 2015.01.182:::: Since last patch the matchmaking has changed. Now you can search more than
2 matches at same time :)

So overall the game is really good as it's only beta / early access, only need some fixes, and increase the player base :)
I am trying to make parties to go a fast 5 vs AI, so if you feel like to practicing like that, add me on steam and we can play together.

I would recommend this game to every moba lovers, Dota 2, LoL doesn't matter both player can feel comfortable here.
There are many key giveaways for this game on different sites, just search for it, and try this game out. Or if you feel like to donate go for it, the game is not that expensive anyway, and i would say it's worth :)

If any newcomer want's to try and got questions, add me on steam and i will try to help if i can. And we can play together practice against AI.

EDIT:
I am also streaming the game when i got time ( because im working ) and playing it. You can find me at http://www.twitch.tv/azta1212

EDIT 2015.01.07.: The player base has doubled since i started to play, so finding matches are way faster now :)
Got some keys to giveaway, if you want to try the game. Add me as friend, and i will help you as much as i can :)

A game with potential, but is currently lacking players and optimization, it's good but FAR from the perfect game. This is however the best time to get invested in this moba, the developers are honest good working people who will listen to its playerbase and if you pester them enough, they'll do it as well. Gameplay is closely reminded to league, however the game does still have some ups that makes me put it a spot over games like league. The fact that quests exist create a whole new objective to the game, and it's up to the players to decide if laning or question is the best option. Earlygame is a bloodbath with junglers being on par with solo laners in terms of gold income from farming. The jungle is diverse as long as you got the proper equipment, and even if you don't you can still easily jungle the regular junglers. Mages are stronger for the first few because of the fact that you can only skill your abilites up to 4 point, but the way they scale per level is much higher.
All heroes are free at the current point and the way ingame currency is handled is very interesting. In 9 out 10 games you'll earn a crafting item or a recipe for a skin or gear that you can use outside of the game to craft skins and gear to use inside the game.
The prices are extremely fair, you can buy crafting recipes and components on the steam market in case you are willing to use some $$$ on a skin or gear. You can easily get a skin or two for like 2 euros, or even less if you found some crafting components while playing the game.
The developers have integrated twitch streaming into the game, this means that if you are approved by them and have enough viewers, you are able to gift your viewers items as long as they have linked their twitch and SoaDA account.

But of course, the game is in no way perfect. It does have some issues at the moment. The game is very snowbally and sometimes very slow. The gameplay itself can feel clunky at times and the queuetimes spand from 5 minutes to over 2 hours, depending on when you queue for a game.

There could easily be other issues that I haven't thought of, however, you should definitely give the game a try when it finally goes free to play, or even grab one of the thousands keys that the developers are distributing right now.
The game is the only moba that I find interesting enough to play at the moment and it can only go uphill from where it is now.

This is by far my favourite MOBA.

I didn't buy this game, but won it in a giveaway. I didn't particulary want to play, but started the game anyway just to let the cards drop (like most of the 15000 who won copies). Soon after my conscience bothered me and I decided I got to atleast try it out...

I wish I didn't because I'm suppose to be studying now.

Honestly just try it, if I knew this game was so much fun I would've bought it for the $5. The community is great (I can't say that about other MOBAs), I've even had a person give me "lessons" on how to play my favourite character. You also get item drops after games, which can be sold for profit in the market (always a plus). The waiting queue can get a bit long, but since I started playing many others have joined us and I've noticed an improvement.

This game really is a gem. Buy it or wait for it to become free to play (that might be a long time still), either way, just give it a chance.

Ealry Access review:

Positives: The community is great! The devs and mods are awesome and frequently play! The gameplay is unique, and the graphics/artwork is continually improving with each update. The selection of heroes is becoming more diverse. The questing system is awesome and adds ways for the game to change quickly. The devs always listen to your suggestions and issues and do their best to implement what they can. The item system and RPG element is well balanced and only getting better. The new jungling system is a huge improvement and the new Duel modes and vs AI modes add more ways to play when not many people are on. It will be free-to-play soon, and is NOT a pay-to-win game.(thank god, or jeebus, or flying spaghetti monster or whoever you praise)

Negatives: The population is low except during peak hours. Seems to be optimization issues with older systems.(common for early access games)

This is the first online game I've enjoyed in many many years.

This game is great, yes, at the moment the Community is small but that shouldn't stop you. Quite on the contrary, it's all the more reason to get involved and help shape this game up.

Heroes do feel unique and are all well balanced, since players get downscaled should a beginner get into the match it also is more about understanding tactics and mechanics than just brutish force.

The biggest plus would be the quest system, rounds are really in a constant flow because, should a team decide to take quests on, it can become quite challenging for the enemies.
The Glyph-System, what would be Summoner Spells in LoL, are quite nice too. You do not choose them blindly before the round but pick them up slowly as your Champ levels up, even Upgrades are included so that you can react to how the game progresses.
If you want a more indepth moba game that doesn't cripple you for being a beginner, pick this up.

Early Access Review !

I played SoaDA this week a lot and I must say the game stands for himself in the MOBA genre.

MOBA Gameplay:
+ Several Quests to boost gameplay
+ Dynamic skills
+ Easy to play
- Heroes seems somehow unbalanced ( but don't forget is only the Early Access)

Internet Connection & Community:
+ Nice developers,on all the time and answering every question
- The community is at it's start an is little (100 players, 50+ on all time )
- Since the servers are in NA and I'm from EU , I have a tendency in having minor lag issues.

9.5/10

Keep up the good work !
