[PATCH NOTES] Battle Nations 4.1

To celebrate the worldwide launch of Battle Nations on Steam, we’re thrilled to announce that Team Fortress 2 has joined forces with Battle Nations! Yes, you read that right. You can now recruit iconic Team Fortress 2 characters to fight with you on the battlefield!

12 NEW MISSIONS: BLU needs our help! Embark on missions to defeat their RED rivals, and hunt down a mysterious and powerful object hidden somewhere in the Battle Nations world.

5 TF2 UNITS: In our first TF2 update you will have access to the 5 iconic characters listed below.

  • THE HEAVY: This Russian beast of a man loves sandviches. But above all else, he loves his mini-gun Sasha. He promises to wield her around the battlefield, mowing down anyone who gets in his way!
  • THE SCOUT: Don’t know of him? Don’t let him know that… He’s from Boston, solves problems with his fists, and is “kind of a big deal.” He’s quick on his feet, so don’t let his size fool you. He’s a capable fighter on the battlefield, firing a wicked shotgun and swinging melee attacks with his bat.
  • THE SOLDIER: Don’t worry about the fact that he failed every military training test in the book. His loyalty to his teammates is matched only by his ferocity on the field of battle. Using his signature rocket launcher, this would-be-hero-of-war can take out infantry and vehicles with ease!
  • THE PYRO: Silent but deadly, this madman (or madwoman) uses a vicious flamethrower to scorch enemies and a flare gun to light them ablaze!
  • THE DEMOMAN: He has a fierce temper and a fascination with all things that go BOOM! Enemies will explode with fear thanks to his trusted grenade launcher.

STEAM WORLDWIDE LAUNCH: Battle Nations has officially launched on Steam! Now you can seamlessly play on the go AND from the comfort of your PC at home! Additionally, the potential audience of over 75 million new gamers means more players to recruit for your Guild(s) and battle in PvP!

At first the game feels really demanding with the premium content, but you can actually live without it for a certain time, but if you actually want to enjoy the PvP system the game is 100% pay to win.
How to get fun in this game: Forget about PvP if you arent going to waste up to 50 dollars.
I can understand most of the cooldowns of this game, but waiting 2 hours for each fight betwen friends and random pvp games its just pathetic.

Im seriously sad about the amount of time invested in this sad game.....

Lot's of fun!

I used to play this ages ago when it first came out on iOS. Cool, and generally unique gameplay mechanics! Similar to Clash of Clans, and is also for the most part, a pay to win, but can be easily played without micro-transactions! Relatively small download and is definitely worth it!

Happy battling! :D

OK in the early levels but takes too long to advance and build skills without in-store purchases. Eventually, can't win battles without losing lots of your better troops. Repair times are long and costly. Keep falling farther and farther behind. Game constantly crashes.

Not bad,but doesn't kill a lot of time as there tends to be a long wait for most things to complete(in some cases,up to a day).
If you're patient enough,it can be played completely free-but if you're impatient,it can be VERY expensive.
On the whole,a fairly average game.

Personally Im enjoying the game, I just recently hit level 20 without really paying anything more than 5 dollars for something I simply wanted to have. Its a city builder with armies of mass destruction, what more would I need to explain? While the wait times can be somewhat irritating, once you get going it gets progressively better and better. To all the people so far that have complained about nothing but the wait times and p2w, go play a different game while you wait, or just dont play it at all.

Really fun game, lots of strategy, lots of friends to play with, and not entirely pay-to-win.

I myself have been a BN player for roughly 1-2 years now and I have to say it's an okay game, but I think it needs improvements, major improvements.

Building your city/outpost/base whatever you wanna call it, is simply a pain, parts of the map are blocked by rocks, mountains, rumbled ground, and water. Theese things cannot be removed or worked with, and they're spread across the map so much that you'll find yourself wasting so much time trying to figure out a nice outpost design that can work around all of these annoying envoirmental blockades. It would be nice if they added in purpose for them, E.X giving the player the ability to setup defense structures on the rock formations or carving out mountains where buildings can be made into.

The raid/occupy system is decent but needs more purpose, no one really cares if the NPC enemies attack you since the worse they do is stop you from moving the buildings they're on top of. Make the garrison buildings actually fend off NPC units from invading your land and maybe people will actually care for trying to defend their land. Also allow players to attack others even if they aren't on eachother's friendlist, it's just flat out dumb that only people on your friendlist can attack you...

The unit rank system is far too much of a grind, it's dumb and annoying, lower the SP needed to to rank up or make some sort of research building that simply allows you to use your resources to rank up units instead,(and I swear to god if you guys make this thing cost preminum currency...)

Bosstrike is nice for the most part, however the kick feature needs to be enabled since so many playerse just try to get into the big guilds to leech off the prizes. Give the guilds a limited amount of invites/kicks during BS so they cannot abuse it by letting a bunch of random players in to take the prizes.

Overall if you can look past everything I said here it's a pretty ok game, the premium units are hardly any better then their normal counterparts and you want to mass produce your units, which doesn't work for the premium for obvious reasons.

After a mere 5 hours, I've completely run out of things I can do without paying. That's five hours of gameplay, mind you--I've already left and come back several times so that the preposterously-long countdown timers would have counted down.

The gameplay isn't terrible, but it's too similar to Facebook games with the countdown timers and that sort of nonsense.

It also seems very unpolished and lacking features, like you might expect from a closed beta.

Avoid this game, it's just a disappointment.

Military-base building free-to-play game. Feels unpolished, typical free-to-play model with purchasable boosts. Avoid.

Too easy for beginners to make construction mistakes after completing the tutorial. Forget about building defenses and barracks right away, just focus on resources and get that hospital up early. I made such an error and am paying the price. The guys below are right, too. though I guess it would depend on whether or not you enjoy these types of games that require patience...

If I may say. The most unstable game in the world. You have to restart at least once in an hour and in the worst case 10 times in an hour...and basicly same ♥♥♥♥ facebook offers you.

This is one of those mobile-esque civilization building games where you build an outpost... and then watch it build over the next few days. Other people can attack your base in a ♥♥♥♥ty take on turn based army combat. There are a couple TF2 characters here, but they don't make the game any better. It's Freemium done wrong: Gives you a bunch of stuff at the start for free, but doesn't tell you that you need to sink your money into it in order to make any real progress.
