At first the game feels really demanding with the premium content, but you can actually live without it for a certain time, but if you actually want to enjoy the PvP system the game is 100% pay to win.
How to get fun in this game: Forget about PvP if you arent going to waste up to 50 dollars.
I can understand most of the cooldowns of this game, but waiting 2 hours for each fight betwen friends and random pvp games its just pathetic.

Im seriously sad about the amount of time invested in this sad game.....

Turning out to be a bit of a con. this is a good idea spoiled by greed. Nanopod prices are daylight robbery.you want to make money from a game you don't charge silly money for what is basically nothing. I am going to delete this game and i would not recommend it to anyone until they stop charging the earth for their most important currency in the game and constantly creating situations that means you have to buy it if you want to progress in the game. If you were to spend £69.99 on any other you would get the full game with the rewards built in and a season pass as well. You would have to be incredibly gullible to spend the excessive amounts of money these developers are asking for so you could enjoy the game . If they slashed the prices they would get more players staying and not getting pissed off at these shabby obvious tactics.

This game is a nice strategy game, but I never see any point in playing it. It tries to get you tied in with the story, but I can never connect with it. The game is better fit for IOS devices, and should try focusing their attention there.

While I enjoy playing this game, there are many issues with it on Steam client. Support for this game is slow to get to issues and often time ignore requests for help in the support forums. Crashes are frequent and new patch (4.5) cannot be uploaded at this time for me. Have spent two days trying to uninstall then install game and it does not work.

Too easy for beginners to make construction mistakes after completing the tutorial. Forget about building defenses and barracks right away, just focus on resources and get that hospital up early. I made such an error and am paying the price. The guys below are right, too. though I guess it would depend on whether or not you enjoy these types of games that require patience...

Battle Nations has the potential to be a very awesome game. I say potential because in it's current state as an obvious pay to cheat game it is aganozingly obvious it is skewed to suck coins out of your pocket and all teh advertising to do so is somewhat annoying. It is just enough of a tease to get you enjoying it, then when you reach around level 6 it becomes so obvious you will never go anywhere in the game without paying the high rates of extorttion in order to be able to play on anything like a level playing field. So, unless you have tons of cash to dump into this game I suggest you go buy a cheap game because you will only be waisting your time here for what is untimately going to be very dissappointing.

I've been playing this game on my phone for a while, and it showed little to no bugs. However, the PC version has a ton of bugs with battles. Sometimes, I'd see invisible units (mainly the gunner) and frequent crashes. Crashes mainly happen when I view a unit's info during a battle, this can get pretty annoying to see what a unit's ability works, how much damage it does and etc.
Besides the crashes, it's pretty fun.
It's a strategy game + long term building (found in games such as Clash of Clans) + turn-based battles.

Pros
-Many different ways to earn resources (aside from "collectors" from other games)
-A lot more units to use compared to other games
-A map system, a guild (a clan-like system), and the ability to help out your friend's base
-Can be played on multiple platforms (You can log on to the computer, and play later on your smartphone)
-Free to play

Cons
-Frequent crashes (based off of my experience)
-Forced In-game purchases (A lot of frequent ads, and some builds require "Nanopods" which are the purchasable resources, and sometimes some builds would ask a heap of them.
-Some bugs that aren't very problematic, but can be annoying

Although this game was released pretty recently, they should've spent more time testing the game before release.
I recommend getting the mobile version, but this game is still playable on PC.

Alright i see the reviews, but i'm not one of those Pay-To-Play types, I never pay money on something like this. But i like games where i play just to get stronger and better slowly, Not like clash of clans where you buy damn gems and get to town hall 8 in 2 days. If you like games like clash of clans and TF2, Get this game. It's free! (Damn in-app purchases.)

This game is made in a way that you will always have an objective even after the mission has ended. One such example is to take down mega bosses every week to obtain a rare drop that will be a massive addition to your army. Besides just logging in every week to look for NPCs to battle, the PVP system will surely push your brain to the limit in setting your formation against another unknown player with the most unexpected forces!

Great game to rock over long periods of time (eventually it gets to the point that only 1 or 2 quick checks a day are all that is needed as timers get into the 12hr-2day marks). The steam client is good, but currently a bit 2nd class (for example, you can NOT complete any of the new Ship/Naval content via the steam client. Log in with a tablet or phone and your golden).

I enjoy it

I love the game. It's quirky universe has a unique feel. The story comes with a good mix of humor and action. The units are all equally balance. One does not need to spend real cash in order to surive in the game. The tablet version is great. On the other hand the PC version from Steam is pretty buggy. Overall I say BattleNation is a great game.

Take advance wars, and then add in a currency and base building system, gather resources together to train better soldiers, create buildings, and most of all, fight invading armies...or go occupy your friend's outpost.

fun little game to pass the time with.

Team fortress 2 characters are added, and they can make anyone's army fairly strong if used right. For example, 2 soldiers or more can seriously kill a heavy tank if they're high enough rank, which they should be. I think you have to level up to 15 to unlock missions for TF2 crossover so keep that in mind as soon as you launch the game.

The only problem ith the game is ofcourse...its kind of pay-to-win, especially when it comes to pvp fights because most players have either grinded their units all the way to rank 6 where it's their full potential when it comes to dealing damage and have maximum health OR bought some seriously OP premium units that can pretty much kill your entire squad. I ain't going to lie, I recently bought a megatank.

I had a ♥♥♥♥ing zombie slayer kill one of my SuperTanks. It was outrageous how her scythe linked to chains can shred armor to ♥♥♥♥ in 2 seconds.

Also, you have to wait for many things to complete construction of buildings, gathering or manufacturing materials and resources and training soldiers. One way to combat all of that is just wait. play this game for a few minutes on your phone, tablet or whatever, fight some fights, do resource gathering, train troops and just go on with your day until later or next day.
