“7 Days to Die achieves exactly what it sets out to be. It’s a fun and intense post-apocalyptic sandbox with all the right mix of base-defense, scavenging, and exploration.”

“7 Days to Die is like Minecraft with Gravity. Building defenses with friends and huddling in the corner hoping no zombies get through can be great fun. But what keeps me coming back to the game is the TNT.”

Good game BUT.. I don't like the following formula being used by indie game devs:

-make part of a game
-sell it on steam as early access
-make enough cash to keep gradually updating
-delay development in order to make console versions of the unfinished game
-start selling multiple versions of an unfinished game
-continue to collect cash on the promise of one day actually delivering the product you're selling
-Not be held accountable for ever delivering or completing anything at all

Devs would rather use the PC gaming community as a wallet to fund their console versions than finish the product we funded in the first place.

Let me clarify this review since so many people seem to think that the game itself is an excuse for poor and shady practices on the part of the developer and publisher:

7 Days To Die is a great early access game, as it stands now. However, development has already been rather slow, something that those of us who actually own the game have dealt with patiently. I know, it's EA. That isn't a "get out of jail free" card like many use it, but it does inform how harshly you judge bugs - which I have been very gentle with. I've paid for 9 copies of this game for family and friends. I like it a lot.

However, the recent announcement that they would be pursuing console versions before even making it to the beta version is ridiculous. If you lot are happy funding something that will slow down progress of the product you paid for, and has nearly always resulted in a poorer product (speaking of PC-only games vs. 'consolized' games) then that is rather confusing to me. Why do you want the publishers spreading limited resources around instead of focusing on finishing the product that provided the funding in the first place?

Furthermore, a great many of you seem incapable of reading. I know that the Fun Pimps are not the ones making the console port. If you guys honestly, truly believe that the console money came from nowhere, and the PC userbase that has provided almost the entirety of the funds that the Fun Pimps have isn't were the money came from, I have some of the most beautiful oceanfront property you've ever seen for sale in Kansas.

The community for this game is so toxic (and I didnt even mention the hacking problem the online has!) that I've had to lock my Steam profile to stop the annoyance of spam and harassing comments. I am now deleting any and all comments on this review.

7 Days to Die
This is the Sandbox set in postapocalyptic times. The game is set in the near future where nuclear war led to the destruction of humanity. However, it is only a small problem, because most of the population has been infected with a virus that kills within seven days, and turns them into zombies. In the game we create our hero that will be male or female. Creating a character is very well developed and immediately after creation, the game crosses us to map Navezgane or randomly created world. This production has been completely set in an open world that allows the destruction of all objects on the map. The big plus is a variety of locations to visit during the game, locations such as large cities, military bases, blocks and other types of buildings depending on the biome in which we find ourselves and there are several. Burnt forrest a place where there is not much to explore, the desert where at the day we're overheats and freezes at night, the forest place to build our sanctuary, having large amounts of food and very good access to water. Pine Forest is another very good place to survive like it is no different from ordinary forest that maybe the rain or even snow. Radioactive Contamination Zone, a place that shows borders of the map but also being in this place can be fatal for our hero. Plain, flat place with little amount of trees and animals that could make problems in survival for beginners. Snowy forrest, place for advanced players, intense cold can cause huge problems. Wasteland, a place similar to burnt forest so that it contains the huge city with a lot of loot, but also quite a few number of very aggressive zombies. As for the opponents, they differ in many ways, from usual zombie to a strong mutant. In the game you can also choose the difficulty level or set your own preferences. This production is quite a great title, single-player and multiplayer, create and develop your character from scratch, a huge world to explore and a lot of other things to do. The soundtrack is very good as well as graphically. In my opinion this is a very cool production and I had a lot of fun while playing this game. The game, however, is still in the early access, and some may not like it. But you can probably expect further updates.

I have fallen in love with this game. I like the skill tree for leveling. Its not nearly as grindy as rust is presently. Going solo is quite hard but can be done, But you can also play with your friends. You can adjust this game to anyskill level you prefer so it is always a challenge for you. It also has awsome building mechanics, I love the fact that you can dig underground to mine, build a base or a tunnel. You can upgrade your buildings to try and withstand the hoard. The hoard comes every seven days. They get harder every time. This gives this game its unique survival aspect. I would say that this game was a good buy for me. I hope you find it as enjoyable as I have.

This game has potential but development has slowed down to a crawl. I will revise this review at some point maybe but im sick and tired of these early access games we pay for on steam that never get finished once they have our money.

This is my first time and possibly only time I will every write a review for a game. 7 Days to Die is my favorite game of all time. It has everything. Action, horror, FPS, crafting, a fully destructible world. The only feature lacking in the game is PVP which I am not a fan of anyways. It is very fun playing solo and even more fun playing co-op. The game is constantly being updated and the devs are very receptive to player input and regularly provide previews of upcoming update content. I think everyone should give this game a real chance. I admit I am a fan boy. But if you play this game for a few hours at least, I promise you will also become a fan boy too. I bought it a couple years ago during a summer sale. Best $12 I have ever spent. Let's support this game and genre. Go buy it. See ya in the apocalypse!

My first experince with 7DTD.

I spawned in, a guy gave me some OP stuff and met a fellow noob. I said my farewell with the nice guy and proceeded to meet up with the fellow noob. I finally got to him then the other players told us that it was horde night so we dug a hole and hid underground. He got hot and sweaty, I got hot and sweaty, so we took our clothes off whilst hiding from zombies above us. We spent the night next to each other in our undies and once it hit day time, we broke our two wooden frame barriers and YOLO'd it. We saw 1 zombie that was actually the only one patrolling around us all night. We decided to kill it since we out numbered him. I pulled out my gun (now armored) and proceeded to kill him. Bullets didnt phase him. The game bugged out my newly made friend died, and I got smacked from 5 feet away. One zombie killed the both of us and one of us was armed. $25 Well spent. 10/10 Would get naked with another guy and die on the first day again.

P.s. If you played this on console and are considering getting this for PC. I highly reccomend it. There are MUCH more players than on the console version. Plus there are dedicated servers. So no more pesky getting kicked out of games when the host quits.

This game is so awesome!!!! It has crafting, it has survival, it has PVP and PVE. It has something for everyone. The zombies are great and varied. I love the crafting, I love gathering. You have to gather to get the mats to craft your items. The items that you make will gain level as you get better at making them and cause more damage or do a better job! I have lost hours playing this game because it totally sucks you into the world. The world itself its so beautiful, the grasslands (maple and pine forests) are so lush and green with beautiful landscape. The other places (desert, wastelands, plains, snow biom and hub cities) are harsh and unforgiving places with extreme weather which are more diffucult to survive in for different reasons. With alpha 15 you get to grow all new crops and even visit traders to sell items and buy things that are more difficult to find or craft.
I have been playing this game for a while now and I have to say with each new alpha there are so many new "toys" to play with.
We have bought four copies of this game for our house, also my brother has four copies in his house so we can all game together, enjoying gaming for hours on end as a family.
I am a disabled mother of two girls, I am unable to run around and play outside games with them. We play this game as a family, where I am able to do all the things everyone else can, I can run and I can protect my family from the evil living dead!

Thank you so much to the Funpimps for making this game, I love it so much and the freedom it has given me. I have had so many hours of fun with my kids and husband thanks to you guys for all your hard work!

P.s I love to watch joel and pokketninja doing the lets play's streamed from twitch! I have had almost as much fun watching as playing!

Huge love to you guys XxxxxxX <3 XxxxxxX

I could write a little story about any number of awesome situations this game will throw at you. But I don't feel like it truely explains what you will be buying.

Here is what this game offers:
Pretty graphics - The game looks awesome, from watching the sunrise because you finally got a break from the night raiding parties to watching the sun disappear knowing things go bump in the night and every moment inbetween is beautiful.

Focused crafting - Everything has a purpose or is planned to have a purpose..even the little things like cutting up a cannibal and showcasing him in your yard will upset his buddies.

Active devs - I've never seen another EA project match their dedication. On the home menu, it literally has a countdown timer for the upcoming patch. These devs actually give themselves a deadline so they don't lose focus and they use that time to give meaningful updates and minor changes. They listen to their customers. I've seen them add features, tweak features and remove features based on feedback. Your opinion matters here.

True horror - Players have put hundreds of hours into the forest, explored every inch of the island, built a fortress and slayed hundreds of cannibals...yet still refuse to leave their base at night or dive deeper into the caves unless they're stuffed with flares and explosives. There is an element of fear in this game that you never really get used to. Things lurk in the shadows, make unnerving sounds, harass you at night, sneak up on you during the day and drag you into the dark when they win.

A story - Son gets nabbed, theres a door in a hole. Right now, the story is still in the works and I expect it will be all the way up to release. but, little things are released here and there that really make you want more.

Building - Matched with a horror atmosphere, this is done really well. You build with wood, sticks and stones. You can lay a blueprint for a pre-built structure or build something unique piece by piece. You can build in the tree tops or out in the ocean..both have their positives and negatives. Building a base will keep out the night but there is no promise of safety as things can still find a way in.

Truely, a game I love.

The update that was supposed to save the game - the one that added minibikes - is actually the patch that made me stop playing.

Its a horrid, buggy mess. The best version of this game was DEFINITELY alpha11. Hands-down.

It's too bad, because he's finally getting around to adding features that would have been nice. It's too bad that the entire flow/balance of the game is totally ruined now especially with all the quality/leveling mechanics.

Really disappointed with how much worse this game is than when I bought it.

A great blend of create your own world and survival horror. As the sole survivor of a zombie apocalypse of unknown origin you get to scavenge hunt and try to create a place that will ensure your survival while devending yourself from ravenging Zombies. The developers have been working wonderfully on putting a lively world together that could envelope you for hours at the time. It still requires work as far as depth via story lines and additional quests but the game is on its way to be one of the best sandbox survival games out there.

this game really went downhill, still runs like ♥♥♥♥ after all these years and the forum is filled with fanboys, that includes the new moderators, avoid it like the plague, it became just another early access cash grab reliant on modders who get tricked or manipulated into helping these lazy devs. read the recent pc gamer review, its sadly true. you figure they would hire somebody with talent after raking in about 30 mil but no they would rather keep milking it.

I just deleted this game from my computer. And I'm not regretting it.
The developers stopped carring for this game a long time ago.I didn't see any great changes for this game in years now ,and everything is still far far away from perfect ,but as I said the developers don't care anymore.
Which is really sad because this game had so much potential.
