Hey Survivalists,
So what the Hell is up with Alpha 11? We’ll it’s is nearing completion and we can smell the cornbread cooking over the campfire but we still have a ways to go as integrating Unity 5 has been a big job. That said, we’re getting close and if all goes well could have it out in March still. Tackling Unity 5 was well worth the effort but a few features needed to be pushed back but a lot of unexpected things have gotten in.

Building on survivalist and horror themes, players in 7 Days to Die can scavenge the abandoned cities of the buildable and destructible voxel world for supplies or explore the wilderness to gather raw materials to build their own tools, weapons, traps, fortifications and shelters. In coming updates these features will be expanded upon with even more depth and a wider variety of choices to survive the increasing dangers of the world. Play alone or with friends, run your own server or join others.

7 Days to Die development was launched following a successful Kickstarter campaign in August 2013, demonstrating the initial prototype. Joining us in early access now will help support the cause and ensure continued expansion of the development team, their efforts and the planning and addition of even more features and depth eagerly awaited by fans.

Many of our fans have commented in these early stages that they feel we are building the survival\zombie game they have always wanted. Our goal is to live up to this as much as we can and build a customizable, moddable game that allows users to fine tune their survival and zombie experience to create the experience players and their friends want.



  • Random World Generation - Play Navezgane or roll the dice and dive back into the game with friends in a randomized world with huge cities, towns, rivers, lakes, mountains, valleys, roads and wilderness locations.
  • Create and Destroy - The world terrain, structures and items can be destroyed or scrapped for resources. Re-purpose collected materials to build custom structures and fortification by hand, placing building pieces into the world in real time.
  • Terrain Enhancement - The terrain is now both smooth and natural but can still be destroyed and mined.
  • Upgradable Fort Building - Player built structures are assembled from framework which can be upgraded supporting wood, cobblestone and concrete upgrade paths. Hammer away just like real building and use Land Claim blocks to protect your fort in PvP.
  • Structural Integrity - Buildings and terrain formations which are too unstable can fall apart if proper supports are not built. Some building materials are stronger than others and pieces which break off and fall can be dangerous or deadly if they fall on you or enemies.
  • Item Crafting & Degradation - With a continually growing list of over 250 recipes, gather resources such as plant fibers, wood and metal to create weapons and tools such as hand made crossbows, knives and hammers. As your tools wear out over time, use your crafting skills to repair them.
  • Plants and Animals - Locate seeds to plant and grow vegetables, and head out into the wilderness to hunt animals once the cabinets in abandoned buildings are already plundered.
  • Stealth System - Sneak past zombies who can see, hear and smell you and smelly items in your inventory and throw rocks to distract them.
  • Buff/Debuff System – Enjoy or deal with a multitude of buffs or debuffs like a caffeine buzz or a broken leg in our rapidly growing Buff/Debuff System with over a dozen boosts or ailments.
  • Cooperative Mode - Tired of zombie apocalypses that are more about fighting humans than zombies? Team up with your friends to work with other survivors rather than against them, using group efforts to build settlements and safety.
  • Character Customization - Full Character creation system with face/body morphing, custom skin, eye, hair color, facial hair and a multitude of visible clothing and armor.

Early Access Review
Day 1 - Got attacked and almost killed on my first night. Then I went Rambo. Fought my way out and ran to a house. Hid in the attic until the sun came up.

Day 2 - Found a few weapons and some rudimentary armor in the house next door. And the upper half of the owner. Gotta stay mobile until I find a place to settle in and make it defensible.

Day 5 - Snuck around and scavenged houses for food and potable water. No sign of...people. Am I the last one alive?

Day 10 - Found an abandoned military outpost. Made a door and barricaded myself inside of the largest tent for now. Will scavenge the surrounding area during daylight only.

Night of the 10th day - They're everywhere. Oh God. They walk right by my tent. I'm cowering in a corner behind a desk with a pistol and a wooden club that I wrapped in some scrap iron. Only 15 rounds of 9mm for the pistol. I hope that they don't decide to tear the tent down around me.

Day 11 - Began collecting resources. I think that I'll try sleeping tonight.

Day 12 - They woke me up 2 times, but never took notice of me. I'm glad that I don't snore.

Day 25 - Have been fortifying my position, dug a trench to trap the undead. Only the "Spider Zombies" can get out. I need to contain them somehow.

Day 50 - Currently I have a fortress surrounded by metal tipped log spike traps 3 deep so they can't escape. Then I just stand on my roof and snipe the spider zombies. Collect loot and smile. I think that I'll be ok.

Day 79 - Been farming. Food is plentiful now. Weapons and ammo are easy to make. I built my fortress on top of a deposit of iron, lead and potassium nitrate, with coal deposits poking out of the ground all around me! What luck!

Day 1?? - There's no end to them. I heard a scream the other night. Not one of them. It sounded...human. Female. Close. By the time I made it outside at first light, all I found was a pool of blood and entrails a half mile from my fortress. Next to the carnage I found a purse with some pictures of a pretty young blonde lady with a cheerleading outfit on in one picture, in another she was in an expensive looking dress cuddled up to who was probably the star quarterback at her high school. The last picture was her with what must have been her family on vacation at an expensive looking beach house. They looked so happy. Her driver's license said that her name was Cindy Batross and she was 17 years old. There was a notepad with illegible scribbles and crude drawings of people eating each other. I cried as I realized that she saw my lights and was desperately trying to make it to the safety of my home. What may have been my only hope for companionship was now in the rotting stomach of the undead.

Stardate 4/20 Delta V - Venison stew is good. It's lonely here. I found pictures in houses and I talk to the nice people in them. You want to be my friend, Jimmy? Ok. I promise that I won't chew on your bones.

Day whatever - What was that noise? They scratch inside my skull sometimes. I saw the cheerleader. She doesn't have a stomach anymore, but she walks around with a little smile on her face and coos sometimes. Then she screams when I try to talk to her from my roof. Maybe I should let her in. Maybe she just wants to be friends.

Night time now. She didn't want to be friends. Only my iron helmet kept her from chewing my face off. I cut her head off with my hunting knife. She didn't have any manners at all.

Hump Day - I sewed her head back on and sat her in a chair. We talked for hours while I cooked some vension stew for us. She's nice, but a little cold. I hope that she's on the pill.

Year of the Rat - I caught that ♥♥♥♥♥ Cindy looking at one of the other guys in the photos today. She denied it, but I know there's something going on while I'm out risking my life for us. Ungrateful ♥♥♥♥♥.

Judgement Day - Cindy had to go. I had no choice. I had told her too much about Mrs. Doubtfire and she was plotting a coup to reap the benefits of our trade agreement with the rabbits. I loved her, but now her bones are scattered in the ashes.

The Day I Die - Spent the last 30 winters here. I lost my mind a long time ago, though I regained some of my faculties after much reflection. I can no longer keep up with my home. It's only a matter of time before they break through. I never did find anyone else. No one came. The supply drops stopped long ago. I can only assume that the rest of the world succumbed to this hellish plague. The undead continue to march in all directions.
I have stockpiled a large amount of explosive devices, guns and ammo. Tonight I will open the bridge to my door for them and when they are clamoring to peel my flesh from my bones, I'll let them in.
The world will see the last survivor, not dying peacefully in my sleep, but raging against the darkness in one last epic battle. But I won't let them kill me. When it's finally hopeless, I'm going out on my own terms. Let them eat what is left of this shell after my spirit departs. Those damned fools won't make me one of them. My life is over.
I can hear them now. There must be close to a hundred. It's time to face my fate.
Here I come, Cindy. I'm sorry for everything.

NOTE: This is a dramatization of in game events and doesn't represent actual game play. Don't get me wrong, the game is amazing and I can't wait to see where they take it for the end game. BUT, this little story was entirely made up in my head based on my experiences in the game and a fateful first encounter with a cheerleader zombie that seriously freaked me out. And based on the positive comments so far, I may turn this into a short story.

Three friends and I spawn in the wasteland biome.
Thought we could make a shelter out of this apartment complex.
Was going well at first.
Gathered many supplies.
Fortified the door.
Was supposed to be temporary, started turning into something permanent.
Everything was going well.

they broke down the door...

Everything went to hell.
They started pouring through the stairwell.
Dogs everywhere.
The only way out was down.
Started running down and dodging walkers.
We got separated in half.
Two of my friends made it out.
My other friend and I were still stuck inside.
Figured we'd spend the last night, hiding.
The moaning of walkers never stopped.

Morning came..

It was time.
We had to go.
My friend and I continued to drill down passed the horde.
Got desperate.
I jumped out the second floor.
Broke my legs.
They were everywhere.
Managed to limp through the horde.
Met up with my other three friends

Don't look back..

We crossed the river into a forest.
Started off with a small shack.
Turned it into a four house village.
We had a wall, a trench around it.
We had something.

We never did forget about what happened that day in the wasteland.


That right there, is just a small story (that wasn't even in full detail) of what 7 Days to Die is like. Very few may say that "Oh, it's just another zombie survival game" or "Oh, it's just a DayZ knockoff". Well, I'm here to tell you that this is not the case at all. I own H1Z1, DayZ, and 7dtd. I have to say that this is the best one. Why?

1. The developers are actually going in the right path.

2. Loot system is pretty awesome.

3. Crafting system is also pretty awesome, may take a bit to get used to. But, still awesome.

4. Instead of just piling blocks and making a box-house, there are actually physics to the building system. Like, in some cases, you actually have to put support. Otherwise that sniper tower or that neat house will collapse on you. Which has happened to my friends. It's kind of satisfying to watch, but damn you're mad if it's your structure.

5. The different variety in enemies is cool! Right now, you have: bees, dogs, and zombies; and other different kind of zombies to add to that.

6. Speaking of zombies. This game's zombies have something that H1Z1 and DayZ don't have. You know... They actually pose a threat and can move in numbers. There are moments when you see that police station surrounded by a horde of zombies and you think to yourself "No, I'm good", because they actually threaten you. The fact that they sprint at night by default (settings can be changed) also adds a thrill to the game. To a point in which you don't even want to leave your shelter at night because you can hear a spider zombie calling a nearby horde. Hordes also happen randomly at anytime and anywhere. This is also unheard of in DayZ and H1Z1. You never see a horde in those two games. Also, as the days go on, the zombies start to get a little tougher. You start to feel that the apocalypse is worsening. Zombies are also smart.

7. There's nothing more satisfying than fortifying your base to prepare for the undead. This game does a very good job at that. You can do almost whatever your mind imagines.. Wanna put a trench that surrounds your base and put spikes at the bottom of it? Do it. Want to salvage land mines from an overrun military base and use them as your own? Do it. Want to build a huge wall around your base? Do it. However, don't think that just putting a wall around your base will help. Zombies will rip through it and actually dig under the wall. We've seen this done in our server before, and it's frustrating, but it's so awesome having to constantly keep maintanence on your base and look for new ways to prevent them and to see your weak spots.


These are just some of my points, and you wanna know the awesome thing? This right here, is just an alpha.. A ♥♥♥♥ing.. Alpha, and the developers have already come this far. As I type this, the alpha11 update is imminent and should be released any day now. This is said to be the biggest update this game has seen. This game is going nowhere but up.

Unfortunately, I can't tell you about the PvP, because my friends and I just normally play on a private PvE server and survive together. I have no idea how well PvP works. If I ever play PvP, I'll tell you how it goes.

Get. This. Game..

It's a solid 15/10.

I truly enjoy this game. Only downside to this game it is a little hard to play alone. I dont play alone now but when i first started an trying to learn the game I felt like i wasnt able to learn bc i was dying ever five mins from other players. so if you get this game start on a easy server with little to no ppl.
Now also prepare to spend alot of time on this game, it takes a long time to get everything going for you. I know once you learn the game, it wont take as long to do things because you'll know what to do an where to find stuff.
HIDE YOUR STUFF WELL! I cant say that enough, now while i have robbed ppls bases when they were no longer online i do know the feeling when you log on an all your stuff is missing. It sucks. So hide it. Behind a wall or floor or be sure to landclaim the crap out of your place. bc trust me they will get in. landclaim or not. <-- hide those as well!

Waiting on alpha 11 atm, so by the time you read this my thoughts on some of the game have been fixed or are no longer a problem. Please please please keep in mind this is an alpha game. that means its not finished so you will find things the glitch out. thats norm for a Alpha Game!
Its an open world, so pvp is going to happen. doesnt mean every person will kill you but most will. I just killed my first person the other day. not much for pvp. an the pve servers still have ppl who pvp. its just a game.. get over it.
So as nice as someone sound keep in mind they might kill you an take your stuff. Not all but most.

I recommend you an a friend to play an start this game together, its more fun this way. also maybe watch some starting out video on youtube. they can help. Wiki helps too. Not every server is right for you, so you could start on one server an have a nice set up, but then you find one thats evern better. look at the bright side of starting over. you can fix what you messed up on your last house to look even cooler.

Sorry kinda ranting. But this game is really fun. just have to give it time to learn how to play an then your set.

First, if you're one of the people stalking my reviews, die in a fire. Better yet, get a life, creepy weirdo. What kind of loser spends their time stalking somebody on Steam reviews? Pathetic.

If you stick with the "need to know" section below then you will have fun with this game. I've never flip-flopped on a review so much in my life, but the items listed below really can ruin this game for you if you don't pay attention.

Need to Know:

1. Don't use the Steam community. It's a high school clique for a certain mod, and you will find neither help nor honest discussion there. Instead, go to the official forums. They no longer require linking your steam account. After spending some time reading there, I've found that many topics that the mod clique won't even allow anybody to discuss on Steam are already addressed on the official forums.

2. Don't leave anything sensitive open nor type anything private (passwords, bank info, etc) while the game is running. It uses Easy Anti Cheat, a keylogger spyware that sends screencaps and incredibly invasive system information to a third party.

3. If you play multiplayer, then play with people you know. Many of the "hacks" you'll read about on the Steam forums are really server admins griefing people.

4. Don't trust Steam reviews about this game at all. There are precisely five people who thumbs up every good review that gets noticed and thumbs down every bad review that gets noticed.

5. Don't trust reviews that upsell other games. Fans of a certain developer have been trying to "help" by giving games in somewhat similar genre bad reviews while upselling that developer's game in the comments.

6. This is not a game to jump into without reading instructions. Look up the wiki, bookmark it, and watch a video or read a guide about how to get started.

7. The title of the game is a little misleading. You get massive zombie hordes every seven days, but you'll also see wandering hordes and waves of respawning hordes. Kill the skinny "spider" zombies, and don't let them see you or you may not get much of a chance to build anything.

8. Do. Not. Trust. Players. Some often-repeated advice happens to accompany shout downs of anybody who contradicts it, if you pay attention. For example, reinforced concrete is not some permanent super material. There are more factors influencing the strength of materials than people lead you to believe. You'd think this wouldn't be an issue, since there are options affecting this clearly labeled in the settings.

9. If you don't play on Windows, then you will still see problems. It's an alpha, and if you're in the non-Windows player base then you're in a very small tester pool. Post bug reports and be patient.

10. This is not a fast progress game. You will spend a lot of time fighting zombies, a lot of time waiting on the completion of crafting recipes, a lot of time walking (the map is HUGE), a lot of time watching tool animations, and a lot of time dropping what you're doing to take care of homeostasis (food, drink, first aid).

If you go into this with the right expectations, then you will have a blast with this game. Those expectations are not communicated well on the store page and the Steam community may very well be the worst on all of Steam, though the mods try hard to delete the evidence of that. Keep the above ten things in mind, and be patient.

Early Access Review
It was the middle of the night. The light of the full moon poured through the gaps in the boarded windows, setting a sense of calm about the place. The shack that Dave and I had spent a few days building and fortifying stood strong and sturdy. We hadn't had much trouble from zombies during construction and fetching supplies, just a few stragglers here and there. The only thing is however, I didn't know whether that was a good thing or a bad thing. A very bad thing.

A stag roamed past our shelter this morning, so quick to spring into action I aimed my crossbow at its rear, and pulled the trigger. It tried to run off a few paces before collapsing to the ground. I approached the stag cautiously making sure no zombies in the nearby area had heard its screams of pain and come to catch an early lunch. I pressed my knife into its throat and yanked hard down to its abdomen. The warmth of the beast reminded me of home. Home, before everything was so ♥♥♥♥ed up. Snuggled on the couch with a blanket watching the Walking Dead wondering what life would actually be like if a zombie apocolypse were ever to occur. I guess i found the answer to that one!

Wrapping the Venison steaks in leaves and putting them in my backpack i headed back. On arriving Dave was boiling water over the campfire in a cooking pot. Placing the steaks down by his side i noticed him wipe away a tear and swallow his sorrow. Normally i would have asked him what was wrong however i knew the answer. Yesterday we lost Frank. It was only meant to be a quick in-and-out supply run to the local village for antibiotics but, while searching a medicine cabinet Frank did not see or hear a zombie dog behind him. Poor guy never stood a chance.

A few hours later Dave and myself were just finishing a nice bowl of venison stew. A single candle burned between as to not give off to much light or heat to draw attention to ourselves. The windows were boarded up good but you can never be too safe. Taking both our bowls over to the rusty old sink I peer out of the window. And there, reflecting off the light of the moon, pressed to the glass, i see the harrowing face of a spider zombie...

I get a shock and drop the bowls. They shatter into tiny pieces off the decayed brick flooring. The noise alone is enough to set the spider zombie into a raging frenzy. Its long black fingers crept through inbetween the wooden planks used to board the windows, solidifying its grip it pulls with all of its strength however it does not budge. Aggrevated, starved and looking for another way in it climbed onto the roof. Pounding with its almighty strength onto the wooden plank roof reinforced with scrap iron it knew that that wasn't going to work either. By this time Dave had ran upstairs and fetched two shotguns from the gun cabinet, a long barrel and a sawn-off. i took the sawn-off, loaded it, and held it tightly to my chest; and then came the sound we know the horror of all to well.

The spider zombie on the roof let out an almighty screech which echoed off into the distance. An eerie silence hung around the shelter so thick you could bite it. And then, from over the nearby hill, a screech was returned...

The silence came and went however this time was broken by the sound of footsteps. Not walking footsteps, but running footsteps. And they were getting louder, and louder, and louder. Then like an army of charging horses all at once the horde smacked against the side of the house, with a thud so loud it was like a gunshot going off inside your head. Faster than we could think of a survival plan the wall crumbled and the zombies came hurtling in. They were hungry. Very hungry. Dave was first to shoot, the buckshot spread enough to cover 2 maybe 3 zombies at once. Quick to follow i too took aim. Our gunshots rattled the woodwork in the shelter and i began to think we were overwhelmed. There were spider zombies all over the house. Bloaters spitting acid and disintegrating the foundations. Dogs growling and snarling from every direction. Saying a quick prayer I signal to Dave that we should make a run for it. Even if we could fight off this horde the repairs alone would be pointless and starting fresh elsewhere would probably be quicker. Opening the back door and making a dash for it we clear a smaller crowd. Running low on ammo confirmed to me it had to be this way. We were low on ammo, low on stamina and low on HP. Running up the nearby hill we had lost sight of the horde, pausing for breath we stood for a while. Looking at the remains of our home crumble and fall. And it was at that exact moment, a couple of crawler zombies come out of no where and killed us both, GG.

11/10 would die again!

This game is very good I have been with it since ALPHA 1 and I have seen it grow from the start It is a good game it does however get boring in multiplayer after you have played it for so long.. The multiplayer setup is great and makes up for it if you have friends you wish to play with you can open your world and they can join in very easily unlike many games I play where you must go into a deep long process just to play with you friends.. The crafting is pretty good not to deep yet tho I think it will change in the future however.. The graphics are not bad and the FPS eh its kinda between normal and bad depending on where you are.. However ALPHA 11 is just around the corner and they have said the FPS are going to be around 60 and 50 none stop and the Graphics are looking great as if its not even the same game so when that comes out this game is going to be alot better in every way.. The food system in my opinion needs work.. You get hungry and thirsty way to fast.. The wellness system to me gets pretty annoying more then anything and I think it should be reworked in my opinion.. The building is very good a bit slow in survival but still good I would however like to see more types of blocks we can use apart from the same wood ones.. Combat is not so great now but I do hear ALPHA 11 is going to make combat very different and very fun.. There is alot I can say about this game but with ALPHA 11 coming out so soon and everything is going to be changing I will most likely wait till then to write a full review.. in its current state now however I would give it a 8 out of 10.. this is with 700+ hours put into this game.

If you love creating a la minecraft and love zombies, this is a great concept of a game. Though I've never played it fully in singleplayer, that's probably the best way to go, or on a secure private server well monitored by mods and admins.
I spent weeks building far away from noob spawn in a tungsten base. Next I set up a base at hub city/noob spawn covered by over 64 claim blocks. Once a cheater found it would be incredibly hard to break into my base, they just reassigned all claim blocks to themselves, taking ownership of my base. Thus, weeks of effort are easily wiped out in a matter of seconds by individuals with no integrity. :p What's the point in keeping interested in a game so exploitable? Guess I'm forced to stay way out in fringes. Kind of makes the point moot. (PvP server, btw.)
So while I recommend it, in concept, your experience may vary. We'll see what comes as it matures.

While this game is unique and it's not really fair to compare it to any other game. For those wondering what this game is about and would like some sort of comparison - if you were to put minecraft and DayZ together you would come out with something like this game.

This has both single player and multiplayer. As far as I know, this is probably the best zombie survival game that also has single player. The game has an option to randomly generate a new map based on seed name - each randomly generated map is infinite in size. Once the map loads, you quickly gather some basic resources and make some basic tools with a relatively deep (for alpha) crafting system. You need to get food, water, a weapon to defend yourself with and a shelter.

The zombies during the day are easy enough to avoid and or dispatch - but at night the zombies are higher in numbers, stronger and can run really fast - you WILL get overrun by a horde of them if you're out alone, defensless in the dark.

So, during the day - you can either dig down and build an underground base or cut down some trees and build a fort, or take an existing building and make it secure - whatever your choice - you do it before dark.

Your first few nights will be the hardest - but once you get some supplies built up and a good solid base - you can then start expanding as you travel on the infinite map. his game is just a big zombie sandbox to play in - the skies the limit in the kind of things or imaginative missions you could do. (especially in the future)

Overall, that's pretty much how the basics of single player is - and I really enjoy it so far. I've had the game only a few days and put in 35+ addicting hours in the single player as of this review already. This is an easy 8 out of 10 and it's looking like it's only going to get better with the next update.

This game is by far the best zombie survival game you will ever play and this isnt even beta. I read reviews about the game being to predictable and that every 7th day is the most dangerous time to survive but I will tell you that is not true. I purchased 2 copies for my son and I to play and for over 150 hours we survived with no cheats. We have built several different types of structures to hold back the zombies including ones that may just be glitchs or exploits and we have found out some interesting things that may or may not change with later builds. Random gen is the only way we like to play. The unknown is what makes the game fun.

Wood shack.. Like everyone else the first home we built was a little 10x10 wood shack. No windows, wedge shingled roof with center support with ladder for roof access. This shack only lasted a few days before we needed to seek something stronger.

Underground.. We then found a good size neighborhood but was quickly overwhelmed with zombies and knew we wouldnt be able to bed down in the town and it was getting dark so we decided to make a big loop around the town to get the zombies off our trail and we began to dig a hole in the ground. First night underground was stressful. The zombies become alot more active when the moon comes up and even underground we could be sensed. We didnt move one inch until the sun came up. The next day we decided to dig further underground and make a small cave for storage containers. over the next several days we extended our lair with tunnels under the town. We actually tunneled all the way to a house in the center of town and came up threw the floor only to be welcomed by zombies boarded up in the house. Our underground lair worked well until about day 100 then all hell broke loose. A little after midnight the game ai decided to send a large pack of about 8 dogs our way. We didnt think much of it since weve seen dogs come and go plenty but this time the dogs knew our location and circled around on ground level and starting digging in the dirt. It didnt take to long for them to dig a hole straight down into our cave and with our best efforts we tried to kill them. Didnt work. We had to abandon all our crates only to watch the pack collapse our lair destroying all our loot.

Floating lake house.. Some days later we decided to give the floating house a try. It worked extremely well since the zombies acted odd when in the water and cant swim to the surface to attack our home. We lived in this home long enough to get 2k zombie kills and become bored with our home. The lake house is a great concept but the ai isnt able to do anything to you.. yet. Hopefully this will change since the game is all about keeping you on your toes.

Cheats activated.. Bedrock spawned in. We now decided to work in creative mode and see what kind of structures can be built with the game physics as of now. We built a mega fortress out of bedrock with 4 floors, a water elevator, and a pitfall 65 blocks down to kill off the zombie horde. Now this sounds like the way you would want to play this game but we found this is not the best way. Because we used 1,000s of tnt and used power tools etc we heated up the map so bad that we had non stop hordes coming from all directions. This was still no problem for our fortress. The build was fun but after learning all the structure physics and just watching zombies come after us for days and never needing to do any repairs or kill anything we found ourselves bored again.

So what now? Well the saying keep it simple is the way to go here. We restarted our server and decided to try the wood shack again but with some extra defenses. A 3 block deep trench with log spikes helped but the wood spikes made no difference. Placing the log spikes against the shack also helped alot. One of the biggest things we noticed was that using the crossbow let you be sneaky and kill and hunt without being detected even when close to dogs. For the remainder of our playtime we kept our part of the woods quiet and the only issues we have is the roaming horde every now and then but we just leave them be and stay out of site til morning. You will occasionally get a group of spider zombies scouting the area but we just snipe them off with our crossbows. This may sound boring but with this setup your not cheating the ai simply because you can make a mistake and draw to much attention only to find yourself running for your life in the middle of the night.

Bottom line is this. The game is only in alpha so if you like the concept you should give this game a try. Hours of fun and off the edge of your seat madness. You will never feel safe and thats what makes the game fun. Keep it up pimps.

This is how early access games should be done. The game has had constant and huge updates that have really brought the game a long way. I won't review the game because it hasn't been finished yet but in case you're wondering whether this game will be finished or not then yes, it will be finished. The developing team is fantastic, they constantly talk to the community on the forums and post updates of the latest builds of their game. The game is completely playable now (more so when alpha 11 hits because of the engine change, higher fps, better graphics) and definitely worth the price.

I've played '7 days to die' for about 8-10 months now, it is a great game and its starting to get into the major updates such as making the random gen spawn better cities in all zones.

i enjoy this game more then any other zombie games, sure its not the best but it lasts longer and theres no real limit to what you can do on it.

7/10 Fangs

its a work in progress but it is worth getting.

This game has to be the king of zombie survival games on the market right now. There isnt really any out there like it. Nothing with the sheer number of options and open endedness. This game is truely zombie survival in a pure sandbox style of play, with the ability to really do almost anything.

You can build almost anything. Almost every thing can be upgraded. You build a wall from wood, you can use more wood to reinforce it and make it stronger. Oh you have metal, you can reinforce it with metal banding to make it even stronger. etc.

TONS of crafting recipes, so many that it takes time to figure them all out. I just discovered a way to make landmines the other day which i had no idea existed in the game at all. Crafting is a huge part of this game, huge. Everything from building tools, weapons, to structures.

The game offers lots of settings too for everything like crafting times, making them really short, or longer for a challenge. The amount of zombies to spawn, how powerful they are, how long the day/night cycles are, which is important because the zombies are stronger at night. There is even a creative mode to learn how to play were zombies dont spawn.

7Days also has a full on survival system. Having to find food either by scavenging for cans, or hunting. Having to find water. Cooking food to avoid getting sick. Boiling water to avoid getting sick. All the while unlocking more recipes to be able to cook better meals to keep you alive longer.

If you enjoy the zombie survival games you will absolutely love this!
7 Days to Die features gameplay like no other in it's genre. Everything in this game has a use and is interactable whether it's searching random backpacks, sports bags or other misc items, to chopping down trees, punching grass or breaking stone to craft starter items.
The crafting system is also unique in the fact you need to first discover books in order to craft better items which encourages you to roam around and explore, rather than spawn and setup immediately.

It's amazing what a small indie developer team can do. It's only been a little over a year and the devs are doing something amazing with the Unity engine. Randomly generated worlds, character customization, this game has it.

Sadly though, max settings aren't really optimized well and I can't get over 45 fps with a high-end Intel processor, 24.0 GB RAM and a 75-hz monitor. (I'm using a laptop)

So I recommend this very much and hope to see this game develop more in the future.

Quite honestly one of the best and most atmospheric games I've *ever* played.

When this game leaves Alpha stage, it will rock. Once it reaches final release, it'll be glorious.

I can only think of a couple of negatives, which I attribute entirely to the normal quirks of being in Alpha:
  • Sketchy performance (again, Alpha)
  • Hitboxes need adjustment (sometimes your shots go right through zombie's heads)
  • Dogs suck! Just wanted to mention this ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Conversely, the positives of the game are too many to list.

In short, get this game if you even remotely care about zombie games or survival games in general. It will only get better.

Note: Devs have mentioned that Alpha 11 is close to release, no timeframe mentioned yet though. Unity 5 engine will be the main draw of A11!

Day 1 : Spawn at desert, Walked from burnt forest to the snowy forest. Found a lovely gas station to hole up in. Zombies go ballistic at night so hid on the roof.

Day 2 : Clean up the mess

Day 3 : Run for miles for an airdrop

Day 4 : Supply run

Day 5 : Fortify the gas station

Day 6 : Run for airdrop but lose it

Day 7 : Sit at the roof, staring at the perfect base. When a giant horde of running zombies came smashing into my gas station. Shot every arrow and bullet i had but it wasnt enough. Roof collapsed and i, together with the zombies perished.

Day 8 : Spawn at desert
