About This Game

The coup d’état that threatened to shake the foundation of the Liberl Kingdom has now come to a close and Her Majesty the Queen’s birthday celebrations are in full swing throughout the streets of Grancel. During that same night, a boy who vowed to make amends for his past disappeared before the girl he loved. Clutched in the girl’s hand was the one thing he left for her to remember him by: a harmonica. Now her journey to find him begins…

So before I actually give my opinion on this game, it took me over 120 hours to beat it (and I was playing it on only hard difficulty - also my first try) with almost over 200 save datas of trying hard not to mess up and experiencing mostly failure throughout my time playing the game I finally beaten it! And I must admit; my expectations are overhelmingly met.

Now onto the review:

The story started as the previous game ended, the levels on characters remained untouched (or rather were modified) and the plot expanded from the epilogue, the gameplay remained the same(with slight adjustments with craft moves, orbments/orbment arts, monster variety, etc.) which most people would think that it's bad, but it's actually in the spirit of the game, anything changed apart from mentioned would make the game seem out of bounds in my opinion.

You play in the same area (Liberl Kingdom) but there are a lot more areas to explore now, you meet new friends & enemies and as I stated previously; I was highly rewarded upon progressing (sooner beating) the game, especially since it took me that long to beat it, I honestly can't wait for the other chapters to be announced on steam because I don't play through an emulator I rather support the company and buy the content so they will surely make more of it.

If you played the first game this is your next stop, this game will deeply fulfill you in any way/shape/or form, now... Time to play the 2 games again and relive a happy experience!

I'll be honest this is probably my favorite game of all time.
I LOVE the characters, the story is good, the gameplay is interesting I spent way too much time fiddling with my orbments and the ending is... feelsy. (I love it)
The voice acting is great at the times that its there (Only in combat) but i really wish there was more.
Do i think you should buy this game and its prequel?
♥♥♥♥ yes! Partly because of depending on the success of those games the chance of getting more games from this series increases and partly because its a great damn game.
My main complaint about the game as of writing moment, is that it ends. I WANT MORE DAMNIT!

Its pretty much the first game only BETTER in every way. I count both these games as one and I recommend playing these games back to back. Because the NPC's that you have helped in the first game will remember your help in this game if you have a save file from that game and the dialougue will change.Fantastic story, writing, battle system, custimization, characters etc...
Only problem is because its the continuation of the first game you NEED to play that one to TRULY enjoy this game.I always play the first one then play this right after. My fav RPG overall.

Such an incredible follow up from the first chapter. The amount of content you get from buying at full price is amazing!

Pros
- Maintains a great story
- More character development
- Great soundtrack
- Longer game than chapter 1
- More playable characters

Cons
- Hard to think of any.... maybe that some of the chest messages are re-used. However, the person who wrote all these messages deserves a pay rise just for having to come up with that many messages :)

Overall, it is a great jrpg (Both chapter 1 and 2) that really tells a good story and makes you want to find out what will happen to the main characters. Fully recommend it, ROLL ON CHAPTER 3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you played the first one and liked it, the second one is more of the same. There is a greater focus on the individual characters here and most of the locations are reused from the first game, though there are some new ones. The endgame is also much better than in the first and features some memorable boss fights.
