Micromanagement and spam. Thats covering about 90% of the experience youre gonna get from this game. But one thing after another.
The core gameplay is good, really good. Building your own deck each with its own strengths and weaknesses is fun. And trying it out makes even more fun, at least most of the time or at the start of the game.
But once you notice that there are serious balance issues it becomes a lot more frustrating. For example:

"Heli rushes" (a "strategy" that means you invest all of your points into Helicopter and send them around corners of the map; attacking the enemy spawnpoint) are completly broken, because you are forced into a lose-lose situation. Either invest money at the start of the game into your base and risk not having enough in your front line (in case your opponent actually wants to play the game) or invest nothing and get instantly destroyed by the enemy if they decide to start a "Heli Rush". The worst of all is that it takes no talent or planning at all. Just spam one unit; send it to one location; win.
You will encounter this ♥♥♥♥♥torm in almost every third ranked game. Almost none keeps playing ranked because of that ♥♥♥♥. And if i say none i mean none. One person out of 1000 players per day start a ranked (and there are about 400-700 players per day activ).

Air units become useless after the 10-20 minute mark, because all players build a relativ strong AA-Base at this point in the game.
Tanks are a must have and easily the strongest units in the game. If you or your team dares to play without them they will have almost no chance at winning the game. This would be fine if it wasnt for the fact that this destroyes a huge part of the entire deck building. Aircraft based decks, infantry based decks, etc are just worse then the tank based decks. Of cource it depends also on the map your playing, but at the end of the day you will still have a significant advantge with the tank based decks every time.

---

This could be accapteble. After all if the gameplay would have nothing besides balance issues you could easily play with friends or just ignore it (somehow), but sadly it dosent.
The problem is (or cource) unreasonable and useless micromanagement. In 9 out of 10 cases the person with better "micro" will win no matter how stupid they might be.
If you start a game you will get about 2-10 minutes of deploytime to select your units, try to think about your tactic, maybe talk with your team about a overall strategy and so on. However once the game starts you are forced to select each unit you deployed and send them to their location - *after* the game started. Its a annoying ♥♥♥♥ton of work every single time.
Remembering the Typ, Plan, and position of about 20 (+/-15) units that are all called "KA-52a" "T80UM" or "T80A" is nearly impossible if you are new at the game and extremly difficult beyond that. And dont even get started about enemy Aircraft..."oh no there is an "F-15A Eagle" coming to Alpha" or "oh no there is an "F-15D Eagle" coming to Bravo". One of these Aircraft units is a AA-Superiority Jet and the other one a heavy bomber. Have fun learing the diffrence.
(Just a funny side note: you cant rename your units)
And it gets even worse. If you finally managed to send all of your units to their location they will refuse to stay at the *exact* location you have given to them. They will stand around an 10m radius of the order you have given to them. This is just cancer since there are many situations where you need your unit at a absolutly specific locations, but this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ just refuses to do so.
But wait...it gets even worse. If you somehow managed to send your unit to the *exact* location (usually by just command them to go 50m beyond x and then just hit "stop" once they are 5m befor x), then they will not face the frontline...with their own frontline. For example i command my tank to x; he goes x (after that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥t) and then reloactes his frontal armor to y, because 1500m away (and thats no joke) is a cheap transport thats just standing the open - making himself extremly vulnerable to the Tank-hunter at x. I lost already way too much high value units because of that ♥♥♥♥ and there is not a single way to disable this "feature". And dont fool yourself. This dosent happen once every 50 matches, but *every single match you will ever play*. All of these problems. It just kills all of the potential fun, desicion making and overall gameplay.

Just spam, micro and abuse silly mechanics to win the day.

Dont bother and buy yourself something that you will actually enjoy.

Amazing game, I've sunk 47 hours in the last two weeks. I play on multiplayer with and against friends mostly.
The main downside for me is the lack of maps, we've already played and replayed all the maps. Add in more maps!

Little bit of a learning curve, but soon you'll be rewarded with a game that is so diverse in tactics and strategy that anyone can play (after some learning) but few people will master. Units are quirky with many aspects to consider: target size, on the move accuracy versus standing accuracy, ammo capacity, ammo types, enemy identification range, the list goes on and on. The units can be used in the same way to good effect, but the tactitian will know what his units quirks are and how to position them to increase the chances of victory.

Tried to play this game for years now. Tried campaign and multiplayer.
Fels like the only reason developers added campaign is to simply stop people from complaining about its absance. Ai will just rush all his units until all of them dead and you win.

This game is definitely multiplayer oriented and its not that bad.
If you play with friends you will 99% win any game, if you play alone its exactly 50% chance. Like free to play games - got good team - insta win, bad team - insta loose.

The real problem for me in this game is its mechanics. I mostly play airplanes and even though it is extremelly fun at a times, it gets boring and pointess really quick.

All units in this game have stats and they are really complicated. But at the same time, after playing a bit you realize that none of these stats really metters. No metter how carefully you play and how good your unit positioning is - its all random. All stats are nothing more then a modificators which affect random number generator only to some extent. For exampe your airplane has 4 missles with 70% accuracy and enemy has 0% ECM it might easily miss with all 4 of them, and if enemy has missle with only 30% accuracy against your 50% ECM it still metters not, your super expensive airplane will explode.

And its really annoying, cause many times when playing against skilled players it all comes down to 1 missle and hit or miss means win or loose the whole game. And the most frustraiting part of it is that there is nothing player can do, just watch. Sometimes you can just send your ground attack airplane towards the enemy withiut any micro management and watch how it will destroy many enemy units, shoot down enemy fighter, dodge countless enemy anti air guns and missles and safely return. Next time you do same thing - your airplane explodes from one stinger right away.

Planes are fun cause gameplay is really uniqe, I dont usually play with any ground units cause for me they are just arcadish. After playing Graviteam tactics and other decent strategy game you might find wargame something like overcomplicated C&C or even warcraft, where in order to increase replayability and avoid gamebreaking balance issuese developers just added Random number generator and tons of modificators for it. Units mooving speed is incriesed to make game more fast paced. Interface is intentionally weak and AI useless in order to force players into micromanagement and turn whis game into "lets see who can click mouse faster" challenge.

When I started to play the community was fiendly and playing was fun.
Nowdays there are not many people left to play with and they all are veterans who always play with same units and same tactics and any noobs will often end up banned from server for wasting points and not really helping the team.

So if you are into sport oriented RTS where reaction and mouse clicking is almost everyhing then buy this game, but if you are looking for deep strategy or tactical experience better avoid this game, its was not design for that.

RTS with no building / minning / base building totally unit focued. Lots of units and different ways to play requires stratagy without needing high APM like other serious rts games, red alert / starcraft / wc3 etc.

A big orgy of autistic armchair generals spamming air units and Spetsnaz in a 5x5km map. Even Chechnya felt better.

10/10 you don't know what it feels like.

So as of writing I've played this game almost 1200H, so I know what I'm talking about.

Learning curve:
There is a significant learning curve and it will take a bit of time to get good at this game. First you might think that buying lots of tanks and spamming them in a frontal attack onto the enemy is a good idea, later realizing you didn't account for the enemy having larger firing range on their tank's guns. Also since they where defending they probably also where hidden in the terrain or otherwise taking advantage of it. This is something you will learn, by doing these tactical mistakes. Hell I've made lots of them. Learning the reasons why you made the mistakes can usually be found out fairly intuitively or easily. For example, you can take note of the tank model your enemy used when you charged at him/her, then look up the specs of that tank compared to yours.

Play style & Team play:
There are many ways to win a match. Usually you have an limited amount of currency to buy stuff with and you have to go strong on Anti-Air capability, but weaker on Infantry support or similar. If your opponent then goes with Armored offensive capability and you gambled he would not do so, then you might lose the game because you can't negate his strengths or exploit his weakness. This becomes much more complicated in big 10vs10 matches, where teamwork will be absolute key, instead of points of a individual player. All this, allows you to develop play styles that fits you and your strategic & tactical thinking best. I like to play with motorized decks, since they provide usually enough of everything, while providing benefits in areas where I'm good at and allows me the most flexibility when adapting to changes in the battle situation.

One important factor in team play is marking the zones that you are going to be responsible for, so you signal to your teammates that they should go somewhere else. This way you avoid critical game starting mistakes, like leaving a zone or flank open, from where the enemy can pour in and attack you in the back. There are still MANY experienced players that haven't understood this fact, a good team however can cope with this fast and neutralize the threat, but 90+% of the times this is not the case.

If you pick up a wargame, pick up this one.
The community is ♥♥♥♥♥♥, there's a lot of Neo-Nazis, and... Unique? People. ( http://i.imgur.com/EoLosJ2.jpg )
Sometimes the gameplay can be a bit ♥♥♥♥, I usually play REDFOR, but I know people who play BLUFOR (especially against AI) get a lot of spam. In real life Soviet doctrines usually were based around overwhelming force but not really like in this game.
It's a fun game, but it can be ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥t. And even though it's a tag, it's not very realistic.

This is a most have RTS game. Gameplay is amazing with both good single player and multiplayer experiences. The best part is this game is released for Linux, so if you miss playing proper RTS games look no further. The Wargame series has given me more enjoyment over the past few years than any other game. Well done Eugen Systems keep them coming and keep support Linux.

Great game and game series, very fun and arcade like yet challenging and fun. I think what most people will enjoy is just fighting the AI as the AI is much stronger than one would expect. In other game's their used to be, "Dummies," and help train and teach you, while this games AI can do that it also is smarter and more challenging than all other AI i've come across.

All fans of strategies are advised to play this game. It will not be boring to play at least 2 people. Also in the game can be slightly fun. So as the game has a lot of countries, as well as a bunch of military equipment that is, and maybe even now stands in military ranks. And in this game, unlike its challengers have ships, so all the advice.
