About This Game

A fly ascends to the skies, pondering the pointlessness of its brief existence.
The Plan was developed as a side project by Krillbite Studio, who's currently finishing their main project Among the Sleep.

  • "Hey, You Should Play This"
    - Patrick Klepek, Giantbomb
  • "Some may argue that The Plan isn't really a game and it definitely occupies the same terrain as Journey, Passage, and Dear Esther, but it's shorter than Journey, prettier than Passage, and less overwrought than Dear Esther, making it well worth taking a punt on for the low price of free."
    - Jeffrey Matulef, Eurogamer
  • "It’s that space in the mechanics for thought and interpretation that I appreciate most here. The Plan won’t break your brain, but it’s a nicely contemplative journey."
    - Nathan Grayson, RockPaperShotgun
  • "In order, here are the emotions I experienced during the three minutes it took me to play The Plan, the new free morsel from the Norweigan indie developer Krillbite: confusion, frustration, boredom, fear, amusement, delight, joy, enchantment, and regret. One of the things independent games ask us to do is accept that a three-minute game can be as valid as a thirty-hour one. Games like these make it hard to disagree."
    - Joseph Bernstein, Buzzfeed
  • "Krillbite Studio, the developers behind Among The Sleep, have gone on and released a most polished, visually stunning and freeware new game"
    - Konstantinos Dimopoulos, Indiegames.com
  • "Krillbite's The Plan is a short, sharp experimental deliberation on the meaning of life."
    - Andy Chalk, The Escapist

Very nice game, short but good. Loved the visuals and music, very fitting. You should really consider expanding this game.

Your a fly, you go upward for five minutes, you die. That's it.

The only "good" side of playing this game is that it's an easy 100% (there's only one achievement). However, even though the game runs on OS X, for some reason you can't unlock it on that platform. So I had to play it again on my PC, and guess what: it crashed. I read a lot of other users on the forum having the same issues as me. It's stupid: your game lasts five minutes, make it at least bug-free (well, except for the fly, that is).

I understand it's a side project, and the studio must be unexperimented, but don't publish this kind of project on Steam. I'm sure it was instructive for them, but it's not very relevant for us.

Another good example of someone's artistic expression masquerading as a game. The developer calls it an experiment, so it's not really a game. Shorter than a YouTube video, bearing little message (unless you want to infer something about the insignificance or futility of a life in the grander scheme). Wonderful music and some nice visuals.

Pity the fly ...

Well, this is a pretty short little game. Only took about 5 minutes to go through the whole thing and not really a lot to do. Just go up and up. That being said, I did enjoy my playthrough. The graphics are pretty nice and I thought the music was entertaining. It's free and has one achievement you can get easy. Who doesn't want to be a fly? It's fun. :) So this game is something I'd recommend if you have a few minutes to kill or just want an easy 100% game.

Note: The game was a bit buggy for me at the end. When I tried to get the achievement, the game crashed. However, started it back up and was able to get the achievement.

I mean... its something to do... and its free. Its just not a game, its a 3 minute experience with a clever ending. I uninstalled it right after playing.

The story about the obstacles in a flies daily life.
I personally really enjoyed flying around in The Plan.
The atmosphere was beautiful, the music fitted in perfectly and the story was very touching.
It's not really a "Game" its more of an experience you go through.

Wouldn't really call this a game, more of Art, either way its short and had one achievement so great for those looking for more games to 100%

Pros
- free
- beautiful music

Cons
- Short gameplay (less than 10min)
- Boring as there isn't much to do.

"What is simple is of utmost elegance". -Nobody
+ Deep, philosophical and highly underrated in today's materialistic age.
+ I can't even express how profound it is without sounding like I am on crack.
+ Everyone should experience this housefly's ordeal which we otherwise take for granted.
+ Visuals and soundtrack were serene, harmonious and altogether stunning.
Or perhaps, they surprised us; coming from a short, free game.
The struggle towards the end was real, I could achingly feel it.

- My only gripe was that it crashed twice. Wouldn't overshadow its soul touching positives.
-Could have been longer, but I won't complain as it was enlightening, immersive and highly fulfilling.

-wipes a solemn tear- Ty for the free achievement (which initially brought me here,
but broadened my outlook as I got more than what I expected from it).
