Version 1.0.9, Build 8.4 - Summer Sale Madness!

Welcome to Version 1.0.9, Build 8.4

First of all, welcome to all of our new players! We were lucky enough to be selected as a featured discount in the Monster Game, so we’ve had a huge influx of new players! For anyone who missed out, Fight The Dragon is still 80% off for the next 12 hours, so be sure to tell all of your friends!

We’re pushing a minor update today to fix a few small issues/bugs that have cropped up, if you come across any more issues in-game be sure to let us know in the Discussions.

Some of you have brought up an issue with XP not being distributed correctly in multiplayer games - we’re still actively investigating this. The Difficulty settings fix detailed in the change list may have been responsible for this, however we haven’t been able to reliably reproduce this internally. If you still believe XP is being distributed incorrectly after this patch, please let us know in the Discussions area.

1.0.9 (Build 8.4) Change List
Fixes
  • Fixed Fighter class ragdolls not sinking into ground when walked over
  • Fixed not being able to raise props in the ACK (KB and Controller)
  • Fixed online games caching a character's loot if a player leaves a game and rejoins with a different character
  • Fixed several issues with Difficulty Settings not being correctly synced in multiplayer games
  • Fixed character progress not being reverted correctly when exiting a multiplayer game
  • Fixed Online Game UI not closing correctly when leaving a multiplayer game
  • Fixed Keyboard bindings being reverted to default when clicking the X symbol in the top right
  • Summoned enemies now go into attack mode on spawn, rather than copying their summoners mode.
  • Update to Unity 5.1 - this is an internal change and shouldn’t (hopefully) have any visible differences

Version 1.0.9, Build 8.0 - Overlapping Overlaps!

Welcome to Version 1.0.9, Build 8.0

1.0.9 is a pretty minor update to deal with some issues we’ve seen crop up over the past few weeks, although we’ve also thrown in some cool new stuff we think you’ll all enjoy!

Overlapping triggers in ACK
We’ve removed the restriction on overlapping Triggers and Blockers in the ACK. This means you can now overlap Triggers with Blockers, as well as overlap Triggers with Triggers and Blockers with Blockers.

New TAG - Non-English
You can no now tag any non-english adventures you find with this tag, and use it to exclude non-english adventures.

While we don’t discourage players from creating adventures in their native language, the vast majority of our players have English as their first or second language and we encourage players to use English for text content in their adventures and campaigns.

1.0.9 (Build 8.0) Change List
New
  • Tag display in gallery now scrolls and has Select All/Clear All buttons
  • Added a new Non-English tag
  • ACK: Sliding bookshelves now have Open and Close commands
  • ACK: Added “On Opened” and “On Closed” events to sliding bookshelves
  • ACK: Dirt decals can now be toggled on/off via events

Changes/Improvements
  • Improved resolution/fullscreen switching
  • Improved rendering performance on Linux
  • ACK: Triggers/blockers can now overlap!!!!!

Fixes
  • Fixed UI being misaligned with screen when switching from windowed to full-screen without a resolution change
  • Fixed buttons on Comment UI not displaying correctly when using a controller
  • Fixed enemies teleporting to inaccessible places when they have a teleporter mutator
  • Fixed case where keys could get stuck in ground and unable to be picked up
  • Fixed some UI elements in adventure info on map screen sometimes misaligning
  • Fixed some irregularities with enemy pathfinding and bridges
  • Fixed “Ring of Duplication” not deducting mana correctly for some classes
  • Fixed second player drop-in message displaying when player 1 was in their World Map
  • Fixed scaled enemies not reacting to the player correctly
  • Fixed some OpenGL crashes on OSX and Linux
  • Fixed broken adventure load process when trying to add an already blocked adventure to your world map
  • ACK: Fixed a few minor issues on the Campaign dashboard UI
  • ACK: Fixed issue where changing sculpt increment with controller would cause the selected tile to be raised
  • ACK: Fixed several irregularities with Logic Block firing in online multiplayer games
  • ACK: Fixed “Fire Once” events not functioning correctly in online multiplayer games
  • ACK: Fixed trigger UI not updating correctly when moving between adjacent tiles that have triggers on them

Known Issues
  • Steam Overlay makes loading graphics disappear on OSX 10.10.x builds :(
  • Resolution switching on OSX sometimes leaves you with a black window/screen

1.0.9 (Build 8.1) Change List - April 24th, 2015
  • Fixed Logic Block event firing issue introduced in last update
  • Fixed controller only input issue on ACK publish warning screen if (B) was pushed

Gauntlet with a neverending array of levels at your disposal and that my friends is a good thing indeed. There's a big dragon that needs slaying that serves as a progress marker of sorts.

Once you become strong enough to put out that fire in his belly... then you got to fight 2 dragons and a juggling bear on a tricycle. It never ends.

You know, telling your friends that you will go now and fight the dragon is not really advisable ;)
Anyway, the game is really fun hehe

Honestly i was really angry at the beginning, not knowing that some stuff is really hard as well as the fact that my chosen character was just bad -.-
But as soon as i got a deeper insight into the game i figuerd out, that it is a hell lot of fun.

The dragon? Ignore this dude he isnt worth your time.
Appreciate the awesome content created by your fellow FTD players!
Or just create awesome stuff on your own!

Well you gotta dungeon crawl and explore places and stuff, you can even invite 3 more players to wrek the enemies and solve riddles if there are any.
Or just relax, while playing some really easy adventures, no need to take on the extreme stuff on the first day...

Yeah you got 4 classes, FIghter, Fire Wizard, Ice Wizard and Rogue.
One for killing and tanking, one for burning and AOE damage, one for freezing and one for stealth and traps.

Fully customisable including, swords, axes (some throwable), hammers, spears (naginata bruh), wands, dual daggers/shortswords, ice&fire staffs, crossbows, shuriken, shields, defense spelltomes, helmets, chestarmor, boots, gauntlets and dragon rings (the big bad dragon drops dem ringz).

Then there is the ACK - Adventure Creation Kit -
EVERYONE CAN USE IT!!!!!!!!!!111!!!!1
Its easy and mostly self explantionary, even more complex events and triggers can be set up with little effort.
Sure you are limited in tiles and content, but THINK CREATIVELY!!!!
If you do, you can create awesome adventures, which will be loved and admired by those who play them!

Game visuals are all blocky and stuff, but it runs even on pretty old and on weak machines.
Unlike some other blocky games, this one got actually some curves hehe

If you think you cant be a good adventure dev, just look at me.
I never thought i would get better than a 3k+ devrank but now i am @ 129 devrank o.O
You just need to be CREATIVE and release well thought and balanced adventures. Not just mass produce overstuffed loot&xp farm levels...
Be careful tho, the community can report your stuff and the game devs will check your creations... and maybe ban it and block you from further publishing anything!

Now buy the game, rock the ACK and round up some friends to beat all the adventures!

I have really been enjoying Fight the Dragon. Because of the nature of the game, no adventures are too long. It's fun, especially if you only have a few minutes, to play an adventure or two. I like the reward system where you use loot to take a chance on better equipment or other upgrades after your adventures. The leveling system is nice because you don't seem to get too overpowered too quickly and the fight with the dragon, at least at this point, seems to be a big challenge. The creator tool is a lot of fun. It's easy to use and you can quickly learn to make a decent adventure. There are a ton of user-created adventures and many of them have been very good. There are some good guides available. The graphics fit the game nicely and are very reminiscent of Little Big Planet, MySims, etc.

I think you'll really enjoy the game if you're in to RPGs, Hack n Slash and loot collection, especially if you can get it on sale!

Edit: The more I play this game, the more I like it. There are some really creative and fun designs being done. It works really well with my XBox wireless controller. I haven't even touched the dragon fight since the first time. I'm just having too much fun with the quick adventures.

how is this game not on every indie games feed out there?? this game is just amazingly fun, it reminds me when we downloaded small user-created campaigns for Neverwinter Nights, but full-Diablo instead.

Also, gamepad controls are great!

RECOMMENDED, everybody should play this!

TLDR: Very good game if you enjoy simple hack n' slash and like creating your own adventures.

Pros:
  • You can create your own maps and share them with the community.
  • Almost all maps are created by the community.
  • Map creation allows very complicated logic systems if you are skilled enough with them. Map creation is also very easy to get into.
  • Pretty straight forward combat.
  • Extremely random loot. You have no control on what you get.
  • Devs are very active on steam forums.
  • Most classes are fairly balanced but can use some work.
  • Runs very smoothly.
  • Looks like minecraft with tons of shaders and a very good texture pack.
  • A helpfull community which is a great thing in a game where content is created by the community.

Cons:
  • Almost all maps are created by the community. Yeah this again. The reason is that some maps are just boring and not fun to play. Selecting a random adventure seems to select the better adventures.
  • Slightly repetive combat.
  • No real endgame other than getting better gear and creating epic maps.
  • Fighting the actual dragon is not that rewarding and takes quite some time.
  • Gold coins at the moment lack any use at higher levels.
  • Enemy AI could use an upgrade.
