Super Amazing Wagon Adventure has been updated with new stuff to become Super Amazing Wagon Adventure Turbo! This free update includes more detailed character customization, three new wagons, and new surprises.

About This Game

Super Amazing Wagon Adventure is a fast-paced 2d shooting game with a random story. You control a group of three migrants traveling west along a wagon trail. The game consists of short scenes that are sequenced together in a semi-random way to tell a crazy adventure story. One minute you could be massacring a herd of buffalo, the next attacked by eagles while falling off a cliff.

Features

  • Stupidly fast. The scene changes every 3-30 seconds with some new enemy or obstacle to overcome. Bears, snakes, spiders, buffalo, avalanches, fire, scorpions, sharks, bandits, wolves... the list is long.
  • Random. The scenes you play are sequenced together in a semi-random way, so you never know which dangers you will face. Rare and bizarre events provide extra surprises.
  • Unlockable wagons. New wagons with special weapons and characteristics are awarded for completing challenging tasks and surviving rare events.
  • Customize your party. You pick your party members’ names and appearances. Name them after your friends and then watch them die one by one in brutal ways.
  • A true challenge. There are no checkpoints or save games. When a party member dies, that party member stays dead for the rest of the game. The game is fair but unforgiving so beating it is a true accomplishment.
  • 10 minutes to beat, hours to complete. If you can survive, the game only takes around 10 minutes to beat, but the random scenes, high difficulty, and unlockables keep you playing much longer.
  • Survival mode. After conquering the main adventure, try one of the endless survival modes. See how long you can last against an infinite pack of wolves or a limitless stream of bears.

System Requirements

    Minimum:
    • OS: Windows XP
    • Processor: 2.0 GHz
    • Memory: 1 GB RAM
    • Graphics: Shader Model 2.0
    • DirectX: Version 9.0c
    • Storage: 65 MB available space

I bought this game expecting a twist on the classic Oregon Trail, and got something far better.

I mean, what other game lets you call an airstrike on dozens of buffalo? Or shoot buffalo in a tornado? Or leap off the shore of a river into orbit? The sheer multitude of random events makes the game incredibly addictive, and the challenge is just enough that you won't blaze through everything with ease, sometimes meeting an untimely end on the trail and having to start over. If I had to make any complaint, it's that the random events can sometimes screw you over badly, reducing everyone's health to 1 before plowing through a stampede, or a pack of wolves, or before falling off a cliff and getting assaulted by birds on the way down. I've suffered many 'cheap' deaths, but it never stopped me wanting to play more!

9/10 - Between the silly humor, the functionally-retro graphics, and the surprisingly awesome soundtrack, I'd recommend this game in an instant.

Super Amazing Wagon Adventure is a great, fun in-between game; meaning that it's wonderful if you wish to play something lighter or for a half hour to an hour. The challenges are fun, and the randomization of events and effects makes several dozen playthroughs worth the time.

It's fun, funny, and has a sense of silly wonder.

Super funny with dark humor and average replayability with all the random stuff going on. You'd have to spend a lot of time on it to get all the unlockables which I don't think is worth the time unless you keep this game around and have a go at it every little while.

When i did a report in School about the wagon thing from 1830-1870, i gave her the story of Rafael, Daniel and Mateus. The teacher showed the class and gave it a 666/10 for this true story.

but what was teh story?
i will tell u

dese ppl went out to teh forest and mass murdered animals.
Mateus smelled a bit of a dead skunk's smell and it gave him Space Rabies.

Bandits wanted our pistol,so they started attacking us.

knowing we were 3 good 5 them, they attacked us with a Machine Gun.

The battle went through a bunch of skunks, so we ran into a cave. The bandits laughed and laughed and called us cowards for running from them but really we didnt like skunks.

We reached a river.

Daniel had the -absolute- BRILLIANT idea to JUMP OVER the river. But they could also ford it.

they decided to jump.

A gust of air pushed them up to Low Earth Orbit, and passed through a metrorite storm.

But our pistol's bullets had inbuilt drills in them for just that.

Days later, the meteorites finished coming. But then a GPS satalite saw them and didnt like them, so they started firing shotguns at us. Thankfully our pistol's bullets had a built in thing to attack GPS satalites.

After destroying the satalite, it exploded, expelling us back to earth.

We conviniently landed on the other side of the river we had jumped over days ago.

We entered into the great plains.

92 days later we finished stacking the buffalo, at 4000km tall, and it brang the wagon to space. Mateus sat on top to search for the end. Mateus saw it! the end of the Trail! so close! but it was 3975km away. Mateus, bummed out, pushed some buffalo further, and the tower of buffalo reached the west. Yes! Rafael and Daniel ran past the ending sideways tower of buffalo, but still 201KM from earth sea level. They ran through. At this point they were meters away from victory. they were 82Km way from surface, as the sideways buffalo was peaking down to the ground. THe first buffalo on the wagon got bored and realized he was not dead, so he got off, making the rest of buffalo fall to earth. Including Rafael, Daniel, and Mateus. They died 1.23 metres away from the end of the trail.

Frustrating, but not in a good way.

I'm a fan of roguelite games; Binding of Isaac and Enter the Gungeon are two of my favourites, so I have no problems with a game that's tough as long as it's fair. Super Amazing Wagon Adventure is *not* fair though, so prepare to die. A lot. When there's more or less nothing you could do about it.

Your hitbox is the entire wagon (large), but the area your default weapon can attack is one small line right ahead of you. You will get hit many, many times by enemies just above or just below this area charging toward you. Anyone who makes it to the Buffalo will know what I mean. There are other weapons, but there's no way to store or change them, so if you get something that could help you later you can prepare to fire it off about two minutes before you really need it.

Your wagon has three passengers, among whom damage is "shared". Hits land not-really-randomly on your party members, often hitting and killing one person before the other two. It's possible to get hitpoints back but this happens on a purely random basis, and consists of either events that may or may not happen or medkit pickups you may not be able to reach. The frustration that comes when you find a rare event only to realize it's your 1-HP guy instead of your 4-HP guy that you have to try to finish it with... agonizing.

There's some laughs to be had here; I thought it was hilarious when I had the option to either ford a river or jump over it, and then later either go around or swim under the river. There's also a ton of content and different paths your adventure might take; I was still finding new ones until I finally quit playing.

It's a shame I'm not going to see the end of the game though because I cannot put up with these deaths that I have no real control over. If the hitbox on the wagon was a lot smaller and my gun could aim a little I'd probably play the hell out of this game. Sadly, I'm sick of it and going to see if I can get a refund.

I don't know how I feel about this game? Its a fast "rouge lite" (kinda?) play off of Orgon trail with a rail shooter feel. At times its too fast for me to catch my bearings but it does have moments of rest and the text is paced well. Again not sure how I feel about this, other than its really fast and quite fun. If you like to pick up the game on sale do it 100% and even its base price isnt half bad.

Hilarious and surprisingly hard, this game is like Oregon Trail on drugs. I played this game for over 12 hours and only beat it a couple of times, but it's so fun you won't even care about losing. With lots of different wagons to unlock and a semi-random progression, which is partially influenced by the player's choices, and the number of times you'll just lose, this game has a pretty high replay value. At a price of $2.99, you'll never get so much for so little elsewhere. BUY THIS GAME.

A parody of The Oregon Trail edutainment games.

Graphics are intentionally retro 8bit, with a CRT monitor filter you can optionally enable. Simplistic, low-detail sprites represent your wagon, your party and anything else that may or may not want to kill you - and the former grossly outnumber the latter.

Equally retro are the sound effects, with beeps and blops and a catchy MIDI-ish soundtrack.

Gameplay is like a sillier Oregon Trail - normally you control your wagon along a linear course, avoiding obstacles and shooting at things that (rarely don't) want to kill you. Your party has individual life bars and you lose once all of them are dead or missing. Events pop up after every gameplay section, ranging from shooting train robbers, to choosing between fording or jumping a river, to some rather spoiler-y occurences.

There's the main campaign mode, and progressing through it and beating certain challenges can unlock survival modes (last as long as possible in a gauntlet of enemies), shuffle modes (your starting settings are randomized from what I understand) and new wagons (which change your speed, party's health and firepower).

It's a small game and gets you a few laughs when you play short sessions of it, and it's probably in your best of interests not to take it too seriously, even if it does get a tad dark and difficult (especially difficult).

My party took the wagon on a cruise across fields, rivers, deserts, and mountains. We explored mummy tombs, fought piranhas underwater, and visited outer-space. Cody found love after he ate some mushrooms. I was gored to death by a unicorn's horn.

10/10 for super and amazing.

My friends quit this game so I guess I have to as well.

That's the unfortunate truth of this game-- despite its highly lauded and multicultural matchmaking system, it shows its true colors when you play alone. After a couple hours in solo queue, you begin to realize that the only reason why you found the hour long games (filled with failed Roshan steals and incoherent ♥♥♥♥♥) entertaining was because your friends were there. Once this realization occurs, the game morphs into a vice, an abusive figure who demands more and more from you by the hour.
Each day not spent playing feels like a breath of fresh air, the first restful night after days of insomnia, etc. The game enervates you in so many ways without you even knowing it, through an insidious process that begins to set in after the thousandth hour of gameplay:
Physically, due to the missed meals and sedintary lifestyle it promotes.
Mentally, due to the wearing down of one's psyche that comes from the rising tension and pressure each game brings upon oneself.
Spiritually, as your cheerful facade begins to crumble and you devolve into a flaming subhuman in order to better match the people that surround you.
and finally Monetarily, as I must've spent like $200 on this game and when I sold my inventory I got back around twenty buckaroos.

That's not to say the game hasn't changed my life for the butter. ♥♥♥♥. Better.
We've done so much ♥♥♥♥ing around, touched the lives of so many confused pinoys and burgers, that I feel as though our legacy is something to be proud of.
From ancient, antedilluvian memes like Helm of Iron Will on Jakiro to contemporary vorps like buying the enemy team a courier as Bounty Hunter, taking advantage of a glitch that allows you to coach the enemy team, and of course binding "SKROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" to a key and spamming it during teamfights.
My heart goes out to all the radical nigs I met while playing this game, regardless of whether or not I reported them:
The Spirit Breaker whom Pedro from Peru threatened to chainsaw the ♥♥♥♥ off of
PCLA the Queen of Skywrath
Every victim of our double-cliffjungle strat, particularly the Undying who just couldn't take it any more
That one guy who played along and bought five Helm of the Dominators, winning the game with a mass of siege creeps
NICE SET MIRANA
Doppelganger-kun
TheJimz (who was able to escape long before me)
Bizzaro stack/Two boots
David & David II
And of course, Rotk_playing

It really makes me wonder if this game will live on in my memory in like a decade. Will the specific games, like the 90-minute one where Austin went 1/30 as Earth Spirit fade into obscurity, to be replaced by only a fuzzy feeling of anguish? Or will this video game be one that I tell my kids of, a content smile on my face as I recant the day we came up with the word "vorp." Will I describe its role in my life as I see it right now; a vector that my friends and I used to kill time with each other, a buffer to spark the most wide-ranging conversations I've had in my life? The NEET version of meeting at the water cooler/skate park/convenience store to shoot the ♥♥♥♥?
Or will I be plagued with phatoms of unwinnable matches, perpetual 5-game LPQs, and the sad fate of the Ka-Pusta-Krew? Will this game live in infamy, a chapter of my life I would rather die than relive, 1363 hours of some kind of Alighierian Hell?
Only time will tell.

Ultimately, I recommend this game. It will change you as a person, but be careful what you change into. For me, the change was positive, but I have watched many become monsters. The game itself is evil incarnate, but it is your choice if it will turn you evil as well.

A silly and fast playing game that is ridiculous in its humor and presentation which makes it a blast to play. Needless to say, Super Amazing Wagon Adventure is exactly what it purports itself to be - a humorous 2D side-scroller with an Oregon Trail vibe. It can be challenging, varies in just about every playthrough, and has some interesting and difficult side games that can be unlocked. It can get boring after awhile and finds it place in the steam library of silly games to return to on occasion. Recommended for silly fun that is quick and easy to play.

This game is pretty fun. I enjoyed the fast-paced thrills and the different experiences with each play.

Your annoying friend from the 90s with a bowl haircut and khaki cargo shorts would probably tell you that this is Oregon Trail "On Crack". Well he's never actually tried crack so what does he know? I, on the other hand, have and I can tell you that this is nothing like crack at all.

The great thing about this game is that you can keep playing it over and over again, unlike crack cocaine, which you should only try once or twice. At least so you can accurately describe which games on Steam are like being on crack.

Quality game, absolutely breathtaking graphics when played with the stunning Nvidia GTX 980. I wouldn't want to play it with any other card otherwise you won't be able to experience and appreciate the full potential of this game. My friend only had a GTX 760 and said the game was a complete waste of time and money as he had to play in the lowest settings and even then he was only achieving 30fps as opposed to my 90fps which quite frankly makes all the difference. In conclusion this is a quality game only when played with the finest GPU on the market. I want to have my babies with this card.

I'm not sure how good it is as a "game" but it's a funny parody. How many other games can you be killed by squirrels, unicorns, and asteroids in a space of 10 minutes? None, that's how many.

EDIT: fixed a typo

Let me tell you a story of my poor group. We set on an adventure in our trusty wagon. During a hunt we encountered a unicorn, which has led us into wonderful magic field. We were promptly ambushed by a herd of said unicorn's friends. After slaughtering them we fought a dragon. Then we came to a river. We decided to jump over the river. By some freaky accident we somehow went to the orbit, made our way through a meteor shower, fought a satellite, then we conveniently landed on the other side of the river we tried to cross. We then entered desert, where we were brutally murdered by buffalo.

tldr:
Very arcadey with extremely simplistic gameplay. Great sense of humor, but the lack of any truly addictive qualities makes this game very easy to put down. There is nothing wrong with it, really. There is just not much terribly right with it. Very neat little game, good for at least a few minutes of entertainment if arcadey is not your thing.

extended:
This is more or less a series of extremely simple minigames strung together seemingly at random. Most can be summarized as such: clumsily move around on the screen while dodging pixelated blobs and clicking to fire slow-moving bullets at such. It can be amusing to see some of the situations described or depicted in the game, but the gameplay itself is lacking. The controls are just clumsy enough that you never get into that addictive, edge-of-your-seat frenzy that the best arcade games can inspire. Still, they are not so bad as to incite you to throw your peripherals at the monitor, and there is something to be said for character.

If there were an option for, "Maybe" instead of a simple yes or no, I would choose it. That's a rare thing for me, because I am usually pretty opinionated about the games I play. To put it in perspective, if I had paid $5 for this game instead of $2 on sale, I would feel extremely ripped off. But for what I paid, I can appreciate the value. Given all of this, I will err on the side of being positive and recommend the game.
