Game Update February 11, 2014

February 11th, 2014

Necrophone pushed an update late last night/early this morning. This update contains a series of bug fixes including the following and a couple other minor changes:

- Stand on pigeon container and pickup rockets player out of world fixed
- Pickup invisible kidney in bathroom bug
- Giving trophies too quickly bug
- TV remote spamming, causing permanent static etc
- End of game: director dual transformation glitch
- Night tiki: activate invisible tooth
- QR code bug when switching items
- Changes to refresh rate setting on startup
- If holding Ctrl on launch, don't set resolution again

The issue of certain monitors being out of range (black screen) we have not been able to replicate however we have put in some changes that may solve the issue. If after the update you get a black screen, hold Ctrl while launching to access the resolution selector. It may be helpful to launch in windowed mode, then change your settings in the in-game options. Another thing to try is to continue holding Ctrl after the resolution selector closes until you can see the main menu (this bypasses a startup call to set screen resolution).

To be sure you're updated use Verify Game Cache https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=2037-QEUH-3335

Thanks and happy Jazzpunking!

I honestly havent played a game like this before. It's kind of an action adventure with one of the strangest settings I've seen in a game. The biggest plus in this game is the humour. The game is one big joke (in a good way ;) ). I've been laughing out loud a few times while playing this game, and this doesnt happen often to me. Does Adult Swim ring a bell? Do you like absurd humour like Robot Chicken? Then you should really check this out.
Oh, and it has one of the coolest intro's I've seen in a game. Who needs cinematics when you can make something like this?

Finished it in about 3.5 hours

There's not much to say else then spoilers, so I leave it at this. It's definately worth checking out!

This is the ultimate comedy game. Don't let the short length of the game fool you, take your time and explore, there is spurts of comedic hilarity everywhere. If you're a fan of games like The Stanley Parable and Conkers Bad Fur Day Jazzpunk is right up your aisle. Gameplay is great as well!

I have a first look review as well as playthrough below if you're interested.

It's really funny. Like genuinely funny. Not ha ha video game funny.

It's over very quickly though. If you don't enjoy exploring worlds and poking around corners, you will not enjoy this game. If you have a bad sense of humor, you will not enjoy this game. If you make long posts on internet forums about how games aren't about deep mechanics anymore, you will not enjoy this game.

You will enjoy this game if you like movies like Airplane! or Naked Gun and view this in a similar way. A couple of hours with some absurd humor.

Created by Necrophone games and in assosiaction with Adult Swim, Jazzpunk is a schizophrenic mashup of arcade gaming, excellent comedy and a twisted story of spies and subterfuge.

And let me tell you something that you can bank in the Kremlin – THIS GAME IS FANTASTIC and I fully recommend you get this with all the speed and grace of a methadrone addict with a pad of empty prescription paper.

The art style of the game is delightfully toony with blocky characters and colourful levels aplenty. In this Alternative Cold War world, everyone is a robot and everthing is vibrant and full of energy. It’s a very simplistic style but everything is delivered in such a tight manner that it still manages to ooze style.

I actually find it hard to describe what Jazzpunk actually is as it exists as a pastische of many other gameplay styles. First Person Shooters, arcade games, golf games, tennis, survival horrors, all fall together like an Andy Pollock painting and it just...works! What could be shallow gameplay expereinces as bolstered by dialogue that is so hilarious it could make Rob Schneider actually appear funny.

The dialogue is hands down some of the best I have ever heard. I wouldn’t be able to fit in the amount of jokes and sight gags that made me really laugh as that would basically be the entire game, but trust me when I say that you will WANT to talk to all of the inhabitants in each level as each reels of some excellent quote fodder.

I fully recommend this title and anyone looking for a fresh experience filled to the brims with laughs will not regret picking this up. Jazzpunk is alone in what it is and therefore the best at what it does
