Σχετικά με αυτό το παιχνίδι

Life Goes On is a comically-morbid platformer where you guide heroic knights to their demise and use their dead bodies to solve puzzles. On your quest to find the Cup of Life, you will summon knight after knight to be brutally sacrificed. Impale knights on spikes to create a safe path. Catch a knight on a saw blade (ouch!) to strategically land the body on a button. Freeze your knights into blocks of ice to reach higher ground. As you journey through treacherous and trap-ridden worlds, you’ll show no mercy to solve each challenging puzzle.

In Life Goes On, death is not a setback. It is the only means to success.

What an incredible concept so poorly executed.
Perhaps I expected too much. I had hoped for some sort of Lemmings/Eets style game. But this is just pretty much boring.
Essentially, you have a knight who you have to kill in certain positions for another knight to use to gain access to other areas, The game graphics are nice, but the music is cliche and sometimes doesn't seem to fit the scene, The UI is ugly. Overall, this game needs a lot more TLC to the minor things. But the main level design is simply to boring to finish up.

A really underrated game :(

This game is a puzzle game with a great twist, where you must “use” as many knights as it takes to achieve your goal! Dem golden chalices *_*

The different approach the developers have gone with to make a puzzle game is really refreshing and enjoyable, and
for me to say that is something cause I hate puzzle games normally ><

A really fun game and the graphics are really nice to.

As the trailer suggests, this game is a humorous cross between puzzle platformer and lemmings, where you take advantage of the deaths of your predecessors to progress through the different levels.

With an unlimited number of knights at your disposal, you control one until it dies, then another, and so on, and on each try to die in a way that your corpse will be of some benefit to your next knight. But doing well at a level means using fewer knights (wouldn't want them to die in vain, right? ;)

Progressing in the game uses more of your puzzle skills than your platforming skills, and for considering you will only be using 3-4 buttons, the game gets surprisingly complex.

Completing the various levels and achievements feels reasonably satisfying, and it can be amusing to overcome any obstacle by throwing numerous knights at it in various ways.

The game contains several references to other games, most of which I found quite amusing, but more than anything else I found myself laughing out loud at many of the messages describing how varyingly successful I had been at the end of each level.

Fun and clever puzzles, a great overall tone, but a rather lackluster asthetic. I enjoyed it immensely and would recommend it to any puzzle platformer enthusiast.

Very fun and extremely funny. I enjoyed murdering knights almost as much as grabbing the cups! Easy to get the hang of, challenging.

A very interesting take on the 2D platform puzzle game. Instead of trying to not die, you strategicly die to use the corpses of your fellow knights to make bridges, press buttons & trigger traps so that one knight may complete the mission. The gameplay is straight forward but doesn't lack it's complexity (especially later on in the mission list). Each mission has a time goal, life goal and a chester goal (finding a monster in the environment which will eat the knight and then sleep) which adds a lot of replayability as it isn't easy to hit all of these on the first attempt. The music & art makes for a humorous game which partnered with the gameplay is well worth the price.

One of the best mechanics is the "name" of the current knight which is usually pretty crazy (i.e. High Royal Knight Sir Edward The Grey) and gives each knight a bit of uniqueness and adds to the humor of these prestigious knights being used as sacrafices to trigger traps and make human bridges. Anyways, long story short - it's worth the price for sure and isn't quite like anything I've ever played before - which is a good thing!

Only played it a little bit as of yet but i will definitely continue to play more.

The concept of dieing to progress is a really well exectued in this game and the controls are easy to pick up on.

Will probably get better with time aswell if new levels or challenges are added.

This game, while perhaps a bit morbid in the sense of building a bridge to your objective through the stabbed, exploded, impaled, burned and eaten bodies of your knights, is brilliantly executed. Simple enough to jump right in, and there's no problem that can't be solved with more dead knights, of which you have an unlimited supply.

Not only is this game very creative in its design to use death as a means to beating the puzzles, but it does it in funny and unique ways. This game is very polished and 100% complete. There are hundreds of minor details that keep amazing me about the game as I play eat, from the name of the character being shown to the funny visuals after a level showing how many deaths it took to complete it.

This is one of my favorite Indie games I have ever played and am going to look for more games from the developers because they did such a good job.

It's a solid puzzle platformer in it's own right: the levels are fairly easy to get through, but hard to master. The per level chanelges of fewest knights killed, fastest time, and finding Jeff, plus the hidden level goodies on certain levels give you a reason to replay levels and think about them in a new way. I especially life the gold vs. purple ranks. This is one of the few games I've gotten really frustrated with my failures, and still not been able to put it down.

But the real icing on this razor blade cake is its personality, style, and dark sense of humor. It's a refreshing twist when the goal of most games is not to die. The most fun I've had since Portal.

This game is way too satisfying. If you ever had the urge to run lemmings in armor into fore or spikes, then this game is for you. A sublime and satisfying puzzle game, you are to use the knights you sacrafice to achieve your goals. I love this game. It does not take it self too seriously, and yet can remain a challange.

Go get it while you can.

Life Goes On is a silly puzzle-platformer game that I've definitely enjoyed playing.
It has hilarious ragdoll physics, lots of silly messages, and an unusual attitude towards life and death. A game where dying is actually useful!
I found the puzzles relatively easy to figure out, but that didn't stop them being fun. Also, the game definitely shares a sense of humour with me -YMMV, but that made it even better.
Overall, a game which is fun and good for relaxing, or for playing when you don't want to sink hours into something.

To start: I used to add a header to these reviews, but since it often made the review too long to submit, I've opted to leave the header on my Backloggery.

Gameplay: It's no secret at this point; puzzle-platformers are a dime a dozen in the indie marketplace. I think that may have been because of Braid, but I'm not sure. Now, I'm not going to say that this game is necessarily revolutionary in how it handles the puzzle-platformer setup, but it does at least do things a little more interesting than the average block pushing puzzle, even though there are some of those in here. You see, what this game does differently is that this game wants you to die. A lot. Yet, this game isn't anywhere near on the level of challenge as something like Super Meat Boy. How does all this work, you may ask? Through jolly cooperation! Also, the character kinda looks like Solaire, so that really does help matters.

When you die, unless your corpse falls into a pit, it stays on the level. Ally corpses are the way to solve the puzzles in the game, as no puzzle (at least as far as I could tell) can be beaten with no deaths. Also, unlike a ton of other puzzle-platformers, this game strikes a perfect balance between puzzle and platformer (with the exception of one stage, Altered Trajectory which is both not a puzzle and the worst stage in the game IMO). Puzzles are fun to solve, and the platforming feels good. As for the controls, you run and jump. That's all you need, honestly.

For $12, this game does feel a bit short on content. Even going for 100% through the typical three-badge setup of these kinds of games (find hidden thing in level, beat it under par time, beat it with minimal deaths), this game only took me about four hours. Beyond that, I don't really see me playing this game all that much in the future. You can use your own price evaluations to determine how much this game is worth to you. A map editor would've been really nice, but I think the same can be said for pretty much any puzzle-platformer. Apart from that, there really isn't much to talk about. It's a puzzle-platformer with some pretty nice level design that you can complete in one sitting pretty easily. Most of you will have gotten this from a Humble Bundle, as I did (the Humble Jumbo Bundle 2 IIRC?), so if you're looking for an opinion on this game, it's a good four or so hours. 9/10.

Story: As far as the storyline goes, there really isn't anything to talk about. You are hunting for the Holy Grail, and there is quite a lot of corpses along the way for some reason. This game definitely has a good sense of humor; a very British sense of humor, in fact. If you like things like Red Dwarf and Monty Python, you'll feel right at home here. It's very silly, and the concept of killing yourself to win the game doesn't really stop getting silly. If the level design wouldn't keep me coming back, the humor would. 9/10.

Graphics: A suprisingly good looking game for only being a ~200MB download. It's a very good blend of graphical fidelity and art style. Some of the levels do start to look a bit same-y, but considering that we're talking about the puzzle-platformer genre here, it's a considerable amount of praise to say that levels look a *bit* same-y. As for the technical aspects of this game, it fullscreens to your native resolution (a BIG plus in my books) on launch. Beyond that, there really isn't much else to tinker around with in the options menu as far as the graphical fidelity of the game goes. That's alright, though; the game never really phased my GTX 760, so I'd imagine most anyone with Intel HD Graphics at the very least would be able to run this game. Well optimized, it looks good, and it fullscreens to my native resolution. All the check boxes ticked for me. 5/5.

Sound: As always, there's two major things to talk about here: the soundtrack and the voice acting. The voice acting really only consist of death knells, which are as you would most likely infer by this point in reading this review, very silly. As for the soundtrack, some of the tracks are forgettable, but for the most part I'd say it's an above-average medieval-inspired orchestral soundtrack. It's fitting, but I'd probably never listen to it outside of the game. Just not my thing. There were a few strange audio glitches in which tracks would either layer over eachother in a really annoying way or just not play at all for a while. It didn't happen too often, though, so it's not too big of a worry. Anyways, the voice acting is silly, the OST is good but not too memorable, and the sound only bugs out once in a while. 4/5.

Overall scores are: 9/9/5/4; cumulative score of 9.0/10. Again, your mileage may vary on the game's value. I'd personally wait for a sale before I would pick up this game, but if you're not strapped for cash or anything, $12 is a perfectly fine value. It's a better value than AAA games, that's for damn sure.
