What the developers have to say:

“Thank you for checking out our Early Access page! If you support us now, you will be able to try out the combat mechanics in the arena prototype, duel your friends on the same machine by hooking up two controllers, and use the integrated level editor to explore and modify a number of included environments. You will be able to try out the features in the new alpha videos as soon as they are released.

However! The game is still undergoing very active development, so you can expect bugs and performance issues as the game progresses and changes. In its current state, it is more like a sandbox of technology and martial arts, and less like a story-driven action-adventure. If you want to play through a polished campaign, you may want to wait until the game is fully completed! If you would like to have fun experimenting with our technology and mechanics as they evolve, and support us as we complete the game, then now is a great time to join our community.

Sincerely,
David Rosen”

I have much more hours on the SUMlauncher version, so Ignore my current hours

Overgrowth is an amazing game with creativity pumped into its veins. I've been following this game for a while now, And you get updates every 2-3 months, which from a group of 4? I believe is pretty impressive. Some people believe that this game will be stuck in alpha forever, But I decided to hang on, because of the moddability using the SUMlauncher version.
Animations are very clean smooth and rarely are sluggish, but you can find some glitches here and there, But it's an alpha game.

The game itself visually looks stunning, if you have a computer that's able to withstand it.

9/10 Would kick furries again <3

Soooo much potential! This is clearly a work of love, but as a result updates are sparse with no end in sight...

If your happy playing with editor and making your own content give it a try as the core mechanics are solid.

Overgrowth,
A currently in-Alpha Sandbox,Level-editor,Brawler and Parkour game, where the enviroment is your most effective weapon and the factor that usually determines your survival. (And no I don't mean that the Earth just engulfs your enemies when you're about to die)

The fighting is fast paced and based on a sort of skeletal structure, which means if you get hard enough, somethings going to break. IE. Throwing someone over your shoulder and it just so happens they land on their neck and it kills them, or you boot some poor soul hard enough you send him flying into a wall to have his spine broken and then he is paralyzed and no longer a problem.

The parkour, from what I've seen and is very fast paced, wall jumping, wall running, leaping great distances, this allows people to make very interesting and huge maps that require you to be a skilled ninja rabbit (Unlike me because I usually make my rabbits 8 feet tall and obese, so I can use that as an excuse as to why I can't parkour to even save my life) to succeed in such levels.

Speaking of creating very intense parkour levels and such, The Level editor is great for allowing you to, as I stated above to create interesting and unique levels whether it be a large scale battle with swords and spears or an intense ninja parkour challenge, or both, you are able to create it, and if you are too lazy to build an interesting map or the base game materials aren't enough for you, theres a program created for modding the game known as the SUMLauncher(Supported by the Devs themselves) which instantly downloads and places the files in the correct areas so you can use them with no hassle of moving the files yourself, this program has lots of user created mods that range from maps to characters to props.

However the game is still in Alpha and if you're not the person to purhase early and follow a games progress untill its finished then perhaps wait until the game is finished as it is very worth it already in its current state, and I recommend getting it early and watching it grow and develop.

I had some fun with this game, on the Stucco Arena level. Granted, it was definitely not worth THIRTY dollars. Ten, at the most. That being said, I HAD fun. That is, when the game wasnt crashing every five minutes, until now the game says its missing files from the only level I enjoyed. Stucco Arena randomly decided to lose all its files for seemingly no reason. Uninstalling and reinstalling, verifying files, and restarting steam all did nothing to help. So congrats, devs. Your unupdated game has claimed another victim. Have fun with my thirty wasted dollars, I guess.

I got this game a while back on sale and I loved it. I was very excited to see a finished product with a neat storyline, well here I am almost 3 years later. Still waiting for the game to finish. Don't buy it unless you like to make your own content with the editor that is available.. I don't usually write reviews for games so me actually taking the time to write this shows how ♥♥♥♥ed I am that I wasted my money on this. Thanks for nothing Wolfire.

One of my favorite games on steam. It's has been in development for a long time, but the developer wants the game to be perfect to the finest detail. I could go in depth here but all you have to know is that you are a ninja animal that has to kill other ninja animals. It will get bloody really quick.

Okay, this is a very fast brawler with amazing parcour. the fighting moves are based on real martial arts and damage is dealt on a skeletal structure that is actually making the punches feel like they really hit. difrent to othe fighting games, this will not make the punches just go through your enemy put will actualy ragdoll them and send the part of the body you hit flying, draging the rest of the body behind it. the blood has amazing dripping fysics that enable you to get your enemys blood sprayed all over you. not olny that, but this game has a really good level editor! have you bought the game yet? no? then do it! NOW!

Some fun for two, maybe three hours. Very repetitive gameplay, almost no variety. The developing team is among the worst that I've dealt with. Since purhasing the game around 6 months ago, I have not seen one change in the gameplay, or more importantly, in what you can play. The only playable parts of the game are several challenges that can each be accomplished within minutes, and a game mode where you have to try to win over fans by fighting opponents. Also the $30 price tag for this atrocious, un-finished, and downright lazy game is absolutely ludicrous. I've purchased games for five dollars that I've gotten more out of than this filith.

Stay the hell away from this game. Unless somehow, miraculously, the developers actually put some work in, and make it actually worth more than two dollars, this game is absolute crap and you should not purchase it.
