Om dette spillet

Delver is a first person action roguelike dungeon crawl with crunchy pixels.

Take the role of an adventurer that tries their fate in the dark dungeons (and probably dies horribly). Fight monsters, grab loot, hoard potions, and level up!
Quest for the Yithidian orb at the darkest depths of the dungeon and attempt to bring it back to the surface - getting to it may be the easy part.
Levels are randomly generated in each playthrough so you'll never know quite what's around the corner.

Delver is in an unfinished beta state at the moment and has it's share of bugs and rough edges that need filed down, but it's very playable even in this unfinished state. Help us guide the direction of the game with your early access help and feedback. Our future plans are to revamp all of the art and sound, increase the depth of the RPG system, add special events and minibosses to the random dungeon generator, implement full gamepad support, and add a ton of new content. Help make Delver the best game it can be!

Key Features

  • Fast paced action rpg gameplay
  • Permadeath - once you're dead, you're dead
  • Randomized levels - never the same game twice
  • Loot hoarding
  • Chunky pixels!
  • Modding support - the desktop version lets you make and share your own monsters, items, and texture packs
  • Level editor included!

For as much flak as this game get's it is quite fun, although the dev's have basically abandoned this game there's still enough to it that will hold your attention.

I won't bore you with details, other than be a man and go attack and speed only.

However I will say that the magic and potion system are very annoying, a mana bar would suffice.
And it's kinda hard to tell what your skill points do for you.

Yeah it's supposed to be some kind of roguelike ultima underworldish randomized game but I have apparently played it one hour with say five deaths and one win. Feel like I saw everything.
There's not much updating and the game seriously lacks variation.
Don't bother, this is not the game you're looking for.

It shows potential, which is vital in any beta. The game itself is overwhelmingly easy, in my opinion, but it's great for casual gaming.
Without a real tutorial, or lore, etc, the game lacks both guidence and meaning. Sure, i'm going through this dungeon. But for what? Sure, an NPC at the base camp says that there's treasure there, but what kind of treasure? And why is my character interested in it? Some strong story wou,d truly benefit this game, and would turn it from a 'i'll play this when it's 3am, and i'm too tired to try at anything, but i still wanna click buttons and kill things.' Into a really, all around, good game.
Would i recomened this? sure. Am i going to preach about it to the heavens and make sure every single living thing on this earth does themselves a favor and tries? Not by a long shot.

I loved the game, for about 2 hours which is how long the game is
this game has 0 replayability
weapons are stale with no abilities besides bonus damage
4 wands which all do the same thing a zap zap in a straight line or an orb in a straight line
No abilities
Leveling up is a depressing reminder how much teh stats and game is limited.
Enemies are boring, they walk towards you and try to hit you. maybe some mages here and there
NO UPDATE FOR 7 MONTHS??? this review was made on 4/22/2016

Pirate it, and maybe if they get their finger out of their rear ends, think about purchasing it when its no longer ressembles teh game it is.

*First playthrough*
-Has dagger and couple of potions
-Gets few floors down
-Finds multiple enemies
-takes a lot of damage
-drinks a potion
-turns out to be poison
-tries running
-dies of poison

-I'd rate the game randomly generated potions out of 10

Amazing. Absolutely amazing. This game brings adventure and skill alive with unique mechanics not seen in other games. It's astheticly pleasing through innovative take on retro bit games. Different each game with a fair difficulty that not only makes it slightly stressful but also very rewarding. There is a possibility of becoming bored or even frustrated after playing for large amounts of time. Not meant to be played over many, many hours over many days. But instead one of those games you look at and say, "Hey! I remember this game. I haven't played it in a while. Maybe I should give it a go?" And this thinking is what starts the intrigue and entertainment of the game. Great pass-time game as well. I recemmend it!

i started playing this game in alpha when it was free and had the most terrible sprites ever.. it has come along way. i guess since having played it so long i see how far it has come. omg it was full of bugs for awhile.

no longer!! wow and wow again have these guys worked hard on this.. not only fixing bugs but adding content all the time. it is what it is. a great dungeon crawler with random generated levels.

when this game is complete (early access at time of review) it will be an instant classic!! if you are a underworld fan then you will kick yourself for not getting this title!!

Delver is a randomly-generated, first-person dungeon-crawler where you try to traverse a cave system to find a magical orb and bring it back outside.

Again, it's one of those games that you stop enjoying once you learn how to beat it and then you just breeze through it with minimal effort.

The game has low replayability, but I will say it was fun for the first hour or two, but afterwards, I was like "Okay, I beat it. I'm never playing this game agian."

It's not a bad game at all, but I can't honestly recommend it. It was a fun little adventure for an hour or two but it got old quickly.

It's a fun idea ruined by bad combat. It's really hard to guage your range, so you often swing and miss only to have the AI land its hit. Then you decide to tank it and stand toe-to-toe and then your swings STILL miss.

AMAZING GAME, AMAZING POTENTIAL

Although, game has been out for 2.5 years and is still in Early Access, just wait until it gets updated or updated frequently.

It's perfectly fine now, but i think this is all the content we're gonna get atleast for a couple months.
It's been well over half a year since the last update.

btw not much has changed over that 2.5 years of development.

Some FPS Roguelikes for you instead:
Ziggurat
Tower Of Guns
Heavy Bullets
Barony
One More Dungeon
Black Ice
Eldritch
Bunker Punks

I requested refund right away.

It's fun for the first little while, but it doesn't take long to figure out that this game lacks any real content.

I decided to research this game (wiki) after playing for a while.
Here's my conclusion.

There's a lack of monster and level diversity, there isn't a huge variety of items, there's no way to sell items (not a huge issue, but still worth mentioning).

The game engine was well made, the dungeons are somewhat fun to explore, but it's easy to see how this game would get repetitive fast. It's strikingly similar to Minecraft, yet different. While Minecraft focuses on exploration and diversity (biomes, items, creatures, etc.), the developers of this game only chose to focus on dungeon exploration with little creativity in respect to monsters, items, and biome.

I understand content takes time to add, but this game is already in beta, lacks a solid update history, and most importantly - diversity in monster, characters, and items. Let's get real, this game has been out since 2013 and it is now 2016 - So where's the content?

While this game may provide fun for a short while, I would stay away from this one until the developers can get their act together.

Consumers work hard for their money and deserve a polished game - this one is just not there yet.

I beat this game on my very first try in under two hours, and I've just realized that that means I can get a refund for it, which I'm now sure to do. For what this game is, it looks and feels very, very nice. The pixel art, engine, and polish on this game are all very well done, and the beginning of the game left a pretty good taste in my mouth (which may be more than some people say for my game, Barony). However, this game simply has no depth to it. The music is very limited and loops constantly, so even though it sounds nice at first it gets tiring quickly. There are no skill trees, there is no diversity in each playthrough, and the mechanical variety of the game is just so low -- it's hard to describe, but gameplay-wise, there's no MEAT to this game.

I was not aware that this game even existed when I made my own first-person "roguelike", and I've only just now played it, so I fully admit I may be biased -- but after having beaten this game, as well as coming away from it from an initially positive impression, I have to say I am not too impressed with this game now. The developers are very smart and talented, but I just don't think they put in enough effort with this game. This is probably what I'd call a wasted opportunity for some really nice first-person RPG goodness.

This game reminds me of a simpler time in gaming history. A time where a game was played for fun and not to follow some epic story or deal with so many statistics one should be able to major in it. This game is so basic that like 5 different buttons are bound to attack by default. At the same time it is complex, I have never seen such a broad expanse of variation in dungeon gen alone. I have never once felt like I am going through the same thing over and over, they have managed to make a random gen that actually feels random. Even better the abience of the game alone is enough to keep you mystified and intriqued that you want to keep exploring. As you journey you find notes of fallen adventurers and read the hardships they went through and wonder what become of them drawing you deeper. Not to mention how challenging yet doable the goal of the game is. Basically your goal is to retrive an orb at the end of the dungoen and bring it back alive. Seems simple right? It is! But then as you die the first few times and you decide its time to play smart and think before doing. I have felt the need to hold on items and conserve them. This game hits all the right cards, the developers should be proud. I only wish more people played it.

Pretty decent game. It still needs work and I honestly think you should hold out for a release because it's been four months since the last word on development and honestly this game is barely worth $8 in it's current state. It's a pretty engaging game if dungeon crawls are your thing. It's got all the stuff that makes a dungeon crawler wonderful.

I enjoyed it a lot but I have a couple gripes:

First, this game is like all the other roguelike-likes. It has randomly generated levels and some light RPG mechanics and that's it for likenesses. I would love to have a roguelike-like that doesn't distance itself so heavily from roguelike mechanics, but what can you do.

Second, the difficulty spikes through the ceiling at the end. The game's really easy for something that bills itself as a roguelike game, up until the very end. It's really frustrating to work your way through the game for an hour or two only to hit an unbeatable ending that throws the cheapest difficulty it can at you: flooding the rooms with spawns of endgame enemies at a rate of ~1/sec(that's an honest estimation, not an exaggeration). I'm all for reasonable progression of difficulty, and this ain't it.

Overall, I kinda-sorta recommend this game. It definitely needs work, but I think you'll find some enjoyment out of it in its current state. Whether that enjoyment is worth $8 is debatable. I would personally suggest you wait for more work to be done on it before buying.

Game has some serious balance issues. Enemies that jump at you can jump and hit you well before they're in your weapon range. Sometimes they land on top of you where you can't hit them but they can hit you. I've seen bats fly up through the ceiling where you can't hit them, only to fly down out of the ceiling to hit you. Despite the fact that the game isn't too difficult it just feels like it can have many cheap hit moments. I'd rather have a hard game that felt fair.

Arrows are messed up. If you shoot an arrow then pick it up again it no longer stacks in the same stack. Arrows bought in the store don't stack in the same stack. It's like what the heck were they thinking?

No I have not put a whole lot of time into this game. That's because there's not much to the game right now. It has around 10 levels to explore.

Besides the typical trends of -INDIE- -ROGUELIKE- -PIXEL GRAPHICS- that games these days try and cash in on, this game is actually pretty fun. It felt reminiscent of Daggerfall's dungeons or early dungeon crawling games of the 90s except with modern controls and pacing. This isn't a turn based roguelike, which is hilarious refreshing in what is one of my favourite genres now bloated with similar games trying to cater to people who only care about what I said above (memes indie 16-bit roguelikevmetrovai- blah blah blah etc etc).

The aesthetics are crisp and colorful and some weapons feel weighty and it's very satisfying knocking out monsters or pesky mages into blood pudding. Also traps in the dungeons effect the bad dudes and I spent more than I'd like to admit trailing bandits into a spike pit.

When you slap people's nuts a little too hard but not enough to put them down, they'll run off and try and flank/sneak up on you, which is cool.

I put all my stats into defence and attack and wore big platemail armor. This worked pretty well until a bunch of spooky liches tore me a new one with magic while I was huffed and puffed trying to get away.

Only downer is it's an early access game and could use some content or fleshing out. I made it down 7th or so floor before being lich target practice (apparently this is the last floor?).

This game is under 10$ CDN, how can you say NO to this.

I also smashed a bandit with a sword in the face with a hammer and it made a sound like he pooped himself while he flew off a cliff into lava from the blow.

I give it 6 green potions out of cheese piece.

YUM.

A stylish lo-fi roguelike in gradual development. Presents you with a procedurally generated dungeon, into which the hero descends, and may make it back out alive (with your help, of course). Reasonably playable in the current state, current improvements include making the procedural generation more interesting.

A pleasurable 'coffee break' roguelike. You just jump right in and it builds up the intensity all the way to the end. The graphical style is wonderful and very easy to take in. This game has a solid base with which to build a lot of depth. Last update on the sewers was huge. Looking forward to what's further in store.
