Über das Spiel

The Devil has converted a tenement building into monsters-only housing in Unholy Heights, a mashup of Tower Defense and Apartment Management Simulation. Sucker monsters into moving into your building, charge them rent and keep them happy by buying them furniture.

Unfortunately, heroes have caught wind of the Devil's plan, and will stop at nothing to wipe him out. Knock on residents' doors to call them to battle, trap heroes in devious pincer formations, and command your troops to victory. Monsters get jobs, fall in love, have children, and even skip out on their rent. Keep them happy or you might not have anyone to fight for you when heroes come knocking.

Being a landlord is a difficult job, but it can't be harder than running Hell...right?

Simple and fun; Unholy Heights puts a new twist on the Tower Defense genre. Play as an apartment manager (The Devil) and experience what's it like to manage an apartment complex full of monsters.

I had a lot of fun building up my apartment. As my tenement grew, more monsters moved in, each with different stats, jobs, likes, and dislikes. I had to keep my tenants happy by fulfilling their special needs and buying them furniture. In return, they defend the apartment from invading adventurers and heroes.

Everything in this game has character; from the funny text descriptions of monsters and furniture to the cutesy 2D art design. Tenants will go about their day, some will go to work, others will hang around in their apartment; some monsters don't get along with others. I found myself chuckling often to the various activities of my tenants. Also, the soundtrack is super catchy and light-hearted, which fits the game perfectly.

There's something satisfying about watching your tenants grow; you might feel a peculiar attachment. They can get job promotions, fall in love, and eventually make babies! There's nothing like unleashing a family of Cheepies on an unsuspecting hero.

Unholy Heights is a very casual game. Fun and enjoyable, easily worth the price of purchase. It definitely merits our attention.

A review for disabled gamers:

http://youtu.be/4Ex4VwbBu7g

Options are in game are pretty scarce. The game starts in windowed mode and has borderless edges. There is an option for Fullscreen. There’s no Subtitles or Colorblind Mode in the options. There’s also no voice acting so subtitles are unneeded. Colorblind mode would help as some quests are color coded according to tutorial.

Game play is very.point and click and I really couldn’t make it playable with onscreen keyboard. With a standard keyboard it IS playable using the hotkeys above! No keyboard is necessary however for mouse only gamers. You can speed up gameplay during the long slow periods and have the game automatically slow back down when events occur. The game can be paused or saved at anytime so fatigue shouldn’t be a concern.

If you can play point & click games and have always wanted to be Satan running an apartment, this game is for you. The tenants themselves are so adorable it’s worth checking out.

I'm shocked to see how addictive this little game is considering it's price tag. Sure it has a few flaws, but the fact that I spent 8 hours of play time in 1 sitting kind of says a lot about how good this game is. It's regular price is only $4 and it goes on sale for like half that on occasion.

Will be continuing to play this game until I finish the entire campaign which I can only assume I'm only half way there going by the stuff I haven't unlocked in-game yet.

The difficulty curve seems to be well balanced in a way that it's constant and kind of time oriented (meaning the less patient you are, the more difficult it'll be). The game seems to be very stable, no crashes or even a hint of a glitch anywhere yet. The game is widescreen only and at low resolution, though it looks fine for what it is and it plays fine on my 4:3 monitor too.

I highly recommend this game to anyone looking for an enjoyable time consuming game.

Quite fun for a casual session of playing. You basically have to manage an hotel where the guests are monsters, you are Satan. Then, use the monster to stop the invasion of heroes who wants to destroy the hotel. The jokes are quite funny and even if is true that the game is repetitive, having a good fun time is guaranteed.
