If you like Supers, or Lego games, you'll definitely enjoy this game.

It pushed my "completist" button so I had to 100% the game, and it's a fun quest.

Marvel-ous Adventure Game for Fans of Both Franchises

When looking at a Picasso, you can forgive a few smudges. They might even be a part of the art itself, and so it is with Lego Marvel Super Heroes. Enough cannot be said as to how great this game is.

Packed with an amazing amount of levels, characters and other unlockables, fans of the Marvel universe will love swinging, flying and clobberin’ their way through this adventure game and if not already a fan of the Lego franchises, they will appreciate the level of detail given in this game. Something that Lego has gotten very accurate and kept close to the source material, and though not directly linked to the Avengers and recent cinematic universe, it is clear to see that in some touches it is inspired by them. Eg Nick Fury being a Sam L lookalike and not the white dude from the comics.

Even after I had put in 20 hours of gameplay, I was still being treated to more and more surprises, though I do not want to give too much away, lets just say that whether playing alone or with a fellow marvel fan, friend or even son / daughter, there is plenty to enjoy here. There is not a competitive mode, against each other, though there are a lot of levels in the story mode, bonus levels and a ton of side missions which will keep both parties occupied.

The only flaws with this game are the ‘smudges’ I mentioned earlier, some of them are to do with the controls being awkward and the game mechanics being tricky in places, ie certain challenges require you to run along and grab a wire and the character may fall short of that, other challenges in vehicles have incredibly tight corners which require some training with the controls, of which there is no tutorial. These amount to minor grievances that can be forgiven in an otherwise fantastically entertaining game, and whilst playing I thought it would be great if Marvel had a game like this that was not part of the Lego franchise, I soon began to wonder if in fact, the two properties together are what make this work, especially as there is a high level of replayability, way beyond the main story.

I’ve yet to play Lego Avengers, so cannot say just how the two properties are different, other than one being directly linked to MCU, if that’s the case, and you want to have a more broader Marvel experience, then this is your ticket to that experience. Thank me later.

Verdict 8.9 / 9 out of 10 easily

Pros
Faithful adaption of Marvel universe
Plenty to do alone or with a second player
Surprises for Marvel fans way beyond the halfway completion mark
Amazing level of detail
Some really fun levels and challenges

Cons
Over reliance on some characters for puzzles
Some awkward control issues for some sections of the game, eg not being able to turn character or camera the whole way around to be able to see what you are doing
Gameplay is quite repeatable as well as replayable

Whether you're a LEGO fan, a Marvel fan, both, or neither; this game is an enjoyable piece of fun worth your time.

Admittedly, it will appeal more to you if you're familiar with the Marvel universes. The characters, the stories, the references; they all shout Marvel. But it's the combination with the LEGO franchise and mechanisms that brings the real fun and jokes!

In this game, you will play through 15 levels, each chapter with its designated duo of characters. But once you've finished the level, you can play it again with any character you want, which is needed to find some of the more hidden collectibles. And there is a mass of characters to choose from, each with their own abilities (although most abilities are available to multiple characters.) You will have to collect these characters though before they become playable, and this is where the mainpart of the overworld comes in besides the connection between chapters: This LEGO Marvel version of Manhattan is crowded with side quests, races, hidden objectives, and so much more. Just exploring the overworld alone is a lot of fun.

Most achievements you'll get from just playing the game, but there are a few that will make you collect everything possible to collect and search in every nook of Manhattan and the levels. I managed to 100% the game in just a little under 50 hours, and it never was boresome or tiring.

And if you need any help, Deadpool's there for you. If you can find him.

Probably one of the best Lego games around. It is jam-packed with things to do, even after you complete the main storyline (which is actually pretty decent). Plays well in either single player or co-op. Highly recommended!

I totally recommend this Game to any who are Lego Game Addicts, its fun, funny, challenging and a great edition to the collection... I only had this game a Day and I was hooked for the first few seconds, I won't go into to much detail as I don't wanna spoil any of the plot or anything but, I truly did enjoy this Game.

If you don't mind this game being a Lego game with Lego objects and Lego characters, it's actually the closest thing we have to a true, open world Marvel game. Tons of characters to play as, and the whole city of Manhattan to explore, along with a pretty decent story that any Marvel fan could apreciate.

This game is like GTA5 for kids. None of the 111 hours I have on record are my own - all from my 9yo and 10yo daughters. I've given them other games to play through and they've tried them, then put them ALL down and come back to this one EVERY TIME. If we allowed them to play without limits on time, they probably would have doubled their time in this game by now.

Finished my first play through of the main story. I really enjoyed playing this - I played CO-OP with my partner and we had a blast.

Main story line felt short, but I felt that was more to do with how much we enjoyed playing it.
The different types of "puzzles" keeps the game fresh, compared to Dimensions which gets old very...very quickly.
The Open World content is extremely enjoyable, being able to unlock some of your favourite heroes is cool.

All in all the game stays pure to what Lego games are all about.

I am seventeen years old and I can confirm that this game is freaking amazing for all ages. I’ve been watching Iron-Man, Ant-Man, Gardens of the Galaxy, The Avengers, The Hulk, Thor, etc and I have loved every second. It’s controls are a little wonky and hard to get used to, but it’s no problem to configure them to what you like. It’s also fun to play most of your favorite heroes going against an army of super villains! Get now it’s worth it!
