Grazie Battlefield 2.

it's a shame EA abandoned this game,i know the game was old and all but it had (and still has ) an active community, the community that continued to live even after the Gamespy shutdown..........
i haven't played the vanilla bf2 for awhile but i still play the mods (Project Reality,Forgotten Hope, etc.) and it makes me not to forget how awesome the gaming community is.
and companies like EA are trying to kill that community, like for f's sake you can't even buy BF2 anymore, you either have to pirate it or find an old physical copy, and they completely removed mod support from their other newer games,in other words they made themselves the only source of new content for games(DLCs and yearly release of games) so they could make more money.
just wanted to tell all this stuff somewhere and i realized bf2 is not available for sale on steam anymore,so i decided to write it here.
oh and about BF2 itself, last legit Battlefield game imo,if you happen to find a copy somewhere, buy it for the mods, they're awesome.
+
kudos to Bethesda,Bohemia interactive,Valve and any other Devs who still support mods..........

*Don't assume that I only have 4 hours of play time.
Battlefield 2 is dead, but Project Reality is still alive. If you are a fan of realistic military shooters, I'd recommend buying this game for the mod alone.
Summed up in a few words: Project Reality is like Arma, but without as much running.

This game is the last game in the Battlefield series, besides BF2142 that lets you host your own server from within your livingroom. After this EA Games got money greedy, and i honestly don't understand the hype about everything that came after this.
The freedom of choice by hosting from home, the pure combat without having an advantage with better weapons, simply choose class and get into the battle, where everyone has access to the same weapons, that's what is appealing to me.
BF2 is as mentioned far from a dead game, thanks to mods that let you play online. Yeah EA games, you also turned your back on the modding community since BFBC2 , BF3 and so on.
So people BF2 still is highly playable and if you own it, then get some of the mods arround and play online.

P.S. Origin fixed BF1942 so it doesn't depend on gamespy. The ingame serverbrowser works just as usual. :)

Probably the best team-oriented online multiplayer shooter you will see on the market. Yes, it doesn't have the graphics of the successors, but it has THE GAME. Gameplay is awesome, variable, but not too surprising. Get a microphone and you are in the heat!

Battlefield 2 is the game that brought the BF series to light. Battlefield 1942 is probably a better game, but age and lack of servers etc has started to kill it. Mods like Project Reality keep me playing this game long after I have uninstalled BF3 or BF4.

Bots mean that you don't have to be the best to enjoy it, and most maps are medium sized, so that you don't spawn a ten minute SHIFT button press away from the action.

Buy the game for itself, for the love of the BF series, for the mods, or whatever else.

Not the best BF, but probably the most playable.

Have Fun!
