Great game! I'd love to see a multiplayer feature added. I think that would boost both game enjoyment from the players and overall sales.

It is Super Smash Bros and Mega Man mixed together. It plays just like smash bros, you explore the levels like mega man, and you fight the bosses and/or friends in the arena like smash bros. Great mixture, lots of customization, and a great party game.

Weird controls so I had to change them myself, the tutorial stayed with the original keys, not the ones I changed them to. Game was unplayable because of the damn controls

I ended up enjoying this game way more than I thought I would. It features combat very similar to Super Smash Bros... except you are able to determine your special moves through a 'part' system. It's simple to catch on to, and very fun to try to find combinations that you like the most. It's actually really awesome, I highly recommend it.

A mixture of the best elements in fighting, beat-em ups and adventure games: Challenging enemies, top level design, tremendous character customization and simple yet very appealing graphics and story. Certainly Megabyte Punch is a must get game if you enjoy those genres by yourself or with friends, the multiplayer is great and available for Adventure mode and Versus.

My congratulations to Reptile for achieving such a great quality game, I'll be looking forward for more of your creations.

Megabyte Punch was not even on my radar, but it's right up my alley. I received an email for a free Steam code from Bundle Stars via a Rock, Paper, Shotgun promotion, and I figured, why not? Free is good. But in this case, free is good, and the game that you get with it is even better.

Probably the easiest way to describe Megabyte Punch is to draw parallels to the Super Smash Bros. series of games. You're a robot beating up on other robots, raising their damage levels with each attack and combo landed, and eventually you send them flying into the environment to explode and leave behind either Bytes (the game's currency) or parts (which can be equipped to grant stat boosts and special abilities). The controls and game play are very responsive, and you'll have no trouble traversing the colorful and non-linear levels, pummeling other robots and finding hidden Byte and part caches all around. On top of it all, the game seems to have a pretty bizarre sense of humor, which is always a plus, so I intend to spend quite a bit of time with it and see where it takes me.

With quite a bit to unlock and find (there are 150 unique parts to discover), this is a highly recommended game if you're a platformer fan or a fan of Smash Bros.-esque mechanics.

This game is much like Super Smash Bros and just as fun. Plenty of parts to collect for your character and while the mechanics can become slightly repetitive over time the levels are big and look nice too. There is multiplayer split-screen which can accommodate up to 4 players. Shame there is no online multiplayer function though because that would make this game twice as good.

Megaman with a combined elements of Medabots,

You can collect parts for each of your main players limb

Best played with a controller, but once you get the hang of it. The game becomes too easy.

But a great game nonetheless

Well, this was rather an unexpected fun experience, considering I got it for free. Most giveaway games sucks, sadly. But sometimes there are gems hidden beneath them.

Maybe a raw, non-polished gem (wait up, I am talking literally, forget the metaphors for now), but still a gem. I am a little lazy now so I will try to organize the review in really short statements.

The Idea

Smash brows style fighting meets an adventure platformer. Quite cool idea, really. Fighting system is sweet, but can get boring fast and is sometimes way too easy. Enemies sometimes get struck in their patterns. I killed the first boss with a pelvic thrust, after spamming the hell out of him with shots that he could have dodged easily had the AI been a bit more clever.

A pelvic thrust, really. Congrats on that. It's everything I wanted, a game where I could hump my enemies to death.

Difficulty

...not that great, actually. I mean, most of the time it offers a fair challenge, both for the platforming and the combat. However, the enemies are just too dumb at times. Sometimes they just let you attack them, like the case with the ruthless humping I mentioned above. The second, a mini snake boss I faced on Level 3, just got stuck on the platform above, and I had to go back there (it was difficult, because I had to jump over some sand) to get him to attack me already. He did, and the fight went on downstairs. Suddenly he just changed his mind about brutally murdering me to death and let me spam the hell out of him with a machine gun.

Yup, the unforgiven hump of death strikes again.

Customization

It's always cool to find a game that your equip makes real difference on your appearence, and the abilities/attack animations you get are really cool. However, other user pointed that while there is a lot of equips, a lot of them are just ctrl+c ctrl+v of abilities with a different visual. I saw some of these, but I didn't get far enough in the game to say to what extent this happens.

Visuals

Erm, quite uninspired I think. Not that the dev is to fault, I just couldn't grasp any identity with it. The level design isn't something to be impressed, too. The graphics are impressive at first look, but get's boring pretty fast, because is always more of the same, no little discrepancies on the scenario that makes you go "whoa that's cool". However, the fact that you can blow up the level with enemies is always a pro.

The Price

When analyzing the price, is impossible not to compare the funXprice I had with other games with the same style. Had not I won this game for free, I wouldn't have bought it either. Not because I disdain the dev's work with it (on the contrary, I welcome it), but I found it a little overpriced for what it has to offer.

I recommend it to play with friends. It would be cool to have online multiplayer tough (not official, maybe just a way for us to make a server by hamachi, not all of us can play it locally).
