We have just uploaded the latest, and also most exciting, update for Ærena so far.
We have been working very hard the last few weeks to bring you:
- The leagues
- Shell generator
- A nice match debriefing with match statistics
- A completely new champion - Martel
Season Alpha started!
We are especially happy to finally have the league system in the game and we hope you'll love it. So as it is basically the heart of Ærena we want to give you a detailed insight into how Leagues work.
First of all, there will be several league seasons per year, whereas every season lasts for a predefined amount of time. Within that time all of you have the chance to get to the top and win the season. Whenever a new season starts, the league is reset and a new run to master the leagues starts. The league is split into 6 tiers:
Winning our first Alpha Season, which will last until the end of december, will be rewarded with a very special price. Check it out in the game if you want to know more!
Produce Shells - Keep em firing!
Along with the new update we introduce major changes on how Æther shells are handled in the game. Currently all shells in the game are available from the beginning and it's possible to use a shell unlimited.
To make them all a bit more exciting, every usage of a shell will consume it.
But we won't let you running out of shells, so you will obtain shells after every match and through the usage of the new Shell-Generator!
A new flying island is available: The Shell-Generator.
Every 2 hours an Æthershell will be generated here, which you are able to pick up.
The storage of the Shell-Generator is big enough for 3 Æthershells and if it is full, the Shell-Generator will stop producing until you picked up some Æthershells.
A new champion: Martel
Martel is a small man with a big rocket powered hammer who makes up for being vertically challenged by dressing extravagantly and taunting the other gladiators, daring anyone to slight him.
Martel joined the AEther Pirates after a lifetime of hard work in the navy and constant abuse from everyone around him, at last finding a place where normal had no meaning. When The Games started he took to them with the glee of someone having nothing to loose but his inferiority complex. Martel and his self-constructed rocket hammer - though he sometimes has issues handling it - command the respect of his peers.
