OVERALL RATING: 8.5/10
This game really stood out to me as one of the best racing games on steam right now. Even though it may not be the newest, it definitely seems to have to most unique play style.

Pros
  • Many other objectives than races
  • Fences, super jumps, and billboards are great objectives
  • Over 100 different cars
  • The license system is very rewarding
  • Controls on Xbox controller are very smooth
  • Great game to drive around and listen to music to
  • Map has a great combination of urban and rural areas

Cons
  • Multiplayer is hard to use
  • Races can get repetitive
  • Map is kind of small
  • Impossible to use keyboard and mouse

This is one of my favorite games of all time.
The racing system is solid, with AI that is both responsive and clever.
The city is always a pleasure to look at, even compaired to some newer titles.
The pacing is great, letting you free-drive and practice your routes, try and go as fast as possible or find the greatest stunt route.
The size is incredible. I've been playing this game on and off for a year and I still don't know all the roads.
Well done EA and team. This is one incredible game.
It's a game that I'm proud to own, and I highly recomend it if you don't already own it.

I found myself wanting to pick up a good racing game recently. Whilst contemplating the thought of newer games I decided to revisit a classic which I originally owned when it was released in 2008. Besides, at just £1 for the ultimate edition it was an absolute steal to be able to play this game again. I was also surprised to find ENB & SweetFX configuration for this, so the graphics were given a much appreciated boost! Time to release my inner adrenaline junky one more time..

Pre-Release Review
Burnout Paradise is an intense arcade racer with spectacular crashes. The graphics are beautiful, the world is open and grandiose, and the races are mixed and varied. The difficulty levels range from super easy to absolutely difficult and there are a bunch of collectables throughout the entire open city for you to collect. One of the best racing games I've ever played. Get it and have fun.

Not Ulitmate at all.

Research before you buy cause you still can't get Big Surf Island for pc at all except for a fan mod. and you still have to buy all the extra cars for another $10.

Pretty much just the stock game with bikes and the game is no longer supported by the developer anyway.

So this game makes you do two things, which I very much love: drive fast and destroy things! Any faults? Probably the fact that I takedown too many cars that they stop spawning! Drive fast, hit harder!

For those saying that you can't get the dlc unless you spend five bucks on amazon, just use the vanity pack mod instead

I love the concept of the game itself , the game is long and fun , awesome multiplayer modes , but there isn't a big community to play with.
You can still play it with friends and the online is working ... but with some unknown ppl in your lobby it gets even more fun!

Burnout Paradise was a surprise for me. And a good one at that. bought it for around a dollar, didn't expect alot from the game, but what i found was one of the most enjoyable racing experiences i have ever had, up there with need for speed most wanted 2005. The physics in the game are really well made, and the chrashes are as cinematic as it gets, for one of the first times i actually enjoyed crashing my cars, so i could see it getting smashed in slow motion. Crashing was never so fun. The biggest problem in the game for me is that there's one waypoint system of any sort, even while you're racing, sometimes you will get lost or take a wrong turn just to find out that the road you're taking won't lead to the finsih line, but once you get used to the city, you will know it as you know the palm of your hand. Burnout paradise is deffinerely worth picking up because the amount of fun to be had here is insane. I also want to point out how good the soundtrack is, and if you're a rock fan, these words will be enough for you : They axctually have a guns n' roses track in this game. I think thats nuff said.

TL;DR JUST BUY IT NOW

A good racing game in my opinion. Its fast paced, with slow-mo crashes, jumps, side swiping, drifting and awesome looking cars. You can sink a lot of time into this game, but by the time you unlock the fastest car, you'll be tired of this game. The races leave something to be desired, because the racing AI is really predicatable and quite slow making races really easy. I probably lost five offline races out of 140+ races. Most of the fun I had in this game was driving around in freeroam, drifting, finding cool jumps and trying to unlock every car and its upgraded counterpart.

Review: 7.5/10
Fast, sexy cars, explosions, crashes but a lack of depth hurts the game plus DJ Atomica makes you want to end your life.

Looking for a game to race, crash other cars and make awesome stunts?
This is the game for you.

Burnout Paradise is a fun freeroam racing game that never gets boring. The challenges get harder and there are alot of cars to unlock. When you have completed the game for a full 100%, you still won't be bored when redoing the challenges.

Of all the racing games I've ever owned, I have to say this one has been the most fun!

It feels like the game Need For Speed: Most Wanted really wanted to be but just didn't quite hit the mark. It's typical Burnout: silly, crazy fun with lots of different race modes in a gorgeous open-world. Unlock better cars at junkyards, learn bigger and better stunts, beat the fastest record for a myriad set of roads or survive brutal races where you must smash a given number of cars out of the race. For those who find bikes more fun, this is two games in one! You can start the game in car or motorbike mode instead, with just as many stunts and unlocks to achieve.

This game is also fun for people who don't generally enjoy racing sims. It's very much arcade-style yet car handling is great with a variety of camera modes to choose from. The AI is really well made (no rubber-banding or artificial 'cheating' that AI opponents in other games can display). The difficulty level increases gradually and at the right pace. It's all enormous fun, light-hearted yet challenging in all the right places.

The only problem I've experienced with the game is getting my G27 Logitech Wheel working nicely with it. People can and do have success, but my wheel has a continuous, strong pull to the left in this game which I cannot resolve. Your success might vary, and this article (http://solidlystated.com/software/logitech-g27-burnout-paradise/) is essential reading to get your wheel recognised and configured correctly. Alas, my wheel pull was too much so I stick to a very old and loved Microsoft Sidewinder stick or my XB360 gamepad - still great fun!
