Reviews

“Along with being one of the (very unexpectedly!) funniest games I’ve played this year, the game’s disarming & charming aesthetic did not prepare me for what is undoubtedly the best WarioWare-like game I have ever played. In fact, I probably ended up spending more time with Cook, Serve, Delicious! than with almost any other game this year. The gameplay is simple in nature but blisteringly fast, resulting in a challenge that is more than enough to keep the average player interested. The game does not overstay its welcome, as it evolves in numerous ingenious ways by the time you’ve reached the end.”
The Stereogram

“It's not an easy game to excel at, but it's an easy game to get hooked on, and the challenge of building and running your own restaurant from front to back is going to captivate you for weeks on end...with depth to rival a strategy game and carefully controlled chaos ruling the action sequences, Cook, Serve, Delicious! is a rare release that encourages you to play until you master every nuance of gameplay.”
Jay Is Games

“Cook, Serve, Delicious! is fast paced, engaging, and absolutely addictive for foodies or non-foodies alike. Don’t be fooled by the cute cartoonish style because you’ll find your eyeballs popping and button mashing like mad after a few hours.”

Cook, Serve, Delicious is a hardcore restaurant sim, one of the few in its genre that gives the players total control over where they want to take their restaurant.

The game centers on an old, worn down restaurant in the SherriSoda Tower, which was once the heart of the building but closed down as business (and tenants) dropped to an all time low. But with the local economy rising back up and occupancy reaching its maximum, SherriSoda Tower has decided to bring back the old Cook, Serve, Delicious restaurant, and has given you complete control to bring it back to its old five star status of world class dining.

To do that, you’ll start with a few thousand dollars and thirty foods to choose from to put on your menu, as well as a host of restaurant equipment and more. Nearly everything is unlocked from the start of the game for you to purchase; this is your restaurant, and you must figure out the best strategy to get that restaurant packed with satisfied customers. Can you prove your culinary skills?

And if that weren’t enough, you’ll also have the opportunity to be cast in the Iron Cook television show, throw parties for offices in SherriSoda Tower, read virtual mail in your SherriSoda Tower Email account which ranges from game tips to crazy spam (nearly 500 emails in all), from customers providing feedback to your restaurant to opportunities such as being able to fund projects via “ClicknStart” and other big surprises!

With hours of content and tons of secrets and unlockables, Cook, Serve, Delicious will provide a big challenge for anyone who’s ready to take their crumbling, rat infested eatery to a luxurious Platinum Star Restaurant. Good luck!

  • New Steam Features include key binding support for all foods and events, a new gameplay option called CookBets where you will receive randomized challenges each day, fifty new spam emails and options as well as improvements to UI across the board, and full Steam Achievements, Steam Cloud, Steam Leaderboards with special Steam Challenges and Trading Cards support.
  • Includes the upgrade pack, "Extra Crispy Edition," that brings ten new foods to the game including Lobster, Bananas Foster, Enchiladas, Sushi and more!
  • Steam Controller, DualShock 4, Xbox 360, Wii U Pro Controller, DualShock 3 and Xbox One gamepad button mapping fully supported for compatible controllers. Rumble is also supported (for Windows only). (Note: first and third party drivers still required for full compatibility. For a full detailed list, be sure to check out the Steam thread: http://steamcommunity.com/app/247020/discussions/0/598199244891051604/ )

I didn't really enjoy this game. It's not about managing a restaurant but more about pushing buttons as fast as you can. Wouldn't recommend

Cook, Serve, Delicious! is an awesome game and it kind of reflects off an actual restaurant, because ♥♥♥♥ be going down out chyere. Very challenging and the keys do take some time to get used to.

Overall, though, it's an amazing game. I find it entertaining when you're bored sh!tless.

I've had this game for awhile now and i have to say it really blew me away on well it was designed and just how much fun it is to play, i have always loved cooking games but most of them arent really much of a challenge and more focus on being relaxing, fun little games, that all changed when i downloaded Cook, Serve, Delicious! From the start it was a learning prosesss to manage your costomers, menu, and chores all while having to cook good tasting food, at first i kept having really bad days until i started learning to play smart, choosing items that are easy to make quickly while stillmaking a good amount of money and learning new foods one at a time, once i did that i was hooked on the game, its so much fun to progress your resturant and unlock new foods and equipment to help make things a bit easier on your self, the weekly challenges are great fun as well as the iron cook and catering. The only thing i think should be worked on and i know it wouold kinda take away from the challenage as time gos on is that was a five star resturant you should have at least one employee to do the chores FOR you instead of you handling them all the time like you did as a 1 start place, other then that i love the game and i think anyone who loves cooking games should give it a try, warn you though, might take some getting used to before you start making good food.

Got it thinking it'd be a chill cooking game to fill my chill cooking game needs (they're my favorite short-burst time killers), ended up with a game that's anything BUT chill. It's actually really fast paced and the new recipes can throw you for a loop sometimes (until you get used to the key combos) -- but it's way more fun than I antecipated too!

This is a glorified cellphone-game with the added element of a keyboard; and it's absolutely brilliant.

It has a surprising level of depth, and is incredibly entertaining once you get past the initial barrier of learning the basics.

This game starts out incredibly difficult and almost detered me from deciding to play it more than a few times, but once I got the hang of it and leanred what foods I'm good at preparing, it's incredibly fun! Of course, this game certainly won't appeal to many people. The concept of "Run your restaraunt from the ground up" isn't exactly a very new genre; it's a genre that has been used and adapted by many for ages. Nevertheless, the playstyle is unlike anything else I have played before, and the art, music, and suprising amount of subtle humor is what kept me coming back. I'd reccomend giving it a shot- you just may love it!

I enjoy cooking irl and I often play flash cooking games online. But this game makes me wanna set my computer on fire and kill myself. I thought I was gonna have fun and kill time with it. I got nothing but panic attacks!
Let me put it this way. You basically have to take control of EVERY SINGLE CHORE in the restaurant! EVERY. SINGLE. CHORE! Take orders, cook, serve, do the dishes, take the trash out, set traps for rats, stop burglers, take selfies with people, go on dates. Not to mention the stress in rush hours while an inspector is watching you, so you try your best not to miss a single chore. All while cooking for impatient ungrateful ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥s who don't even flush the toilet, so I have to do that too!
This game will hurt you mentally, physically and emotionally. Because as cute and yummy as the the food will look, you will hate every single person who makes an order. Because while you finish making a fun delicious burger. You've probably missed or burned at least 4 other orders and also hurt your arm or broke a finger, from mashing every single button as fast as you can. This makes Hell's Kitchen look like a fairy land.
But despite all that, it's so addicting and surprisingly fun. The kind of game you will keep going back to, even for just 5 minutes to see if you can do better, which you won't!

This is one of the most stressful games I've ever played. And I put over 20 hours into it over a period of weeks, always coming back to it to serve another day. You are running a restaurant, but the complexity of it severely outstrips your regular diner dash style game. Almost every food has multiple recipes (there are something like 35 different hamburger combinations possible), and your menu has upwards of 20 items, of which you can serve 4-6 on any given day. Manage service, janitorial requirements and a variety of other tasks. It's hard to describe how complex and yet how engaging this game is. It is seriously stressful, especially on the later levels, but pulling off 88 orders in a row perfectly is a rush; this is really an underrated and great game.

"Your food is just meh. I might come back, dunno"
SherriSoda Tower worker (God damn you!)

A great game, that gives you everything that it promises. It is casual, very grindy, very addictive and it is really funny. It is both simple and hardcore X) You start with 0 star restaurant and in couple hours you know every hobo that comes to drink beer to your place at 9 am. It is incredible funny to play with your family, sitting nearby, watching your poor restaurant management. To give names to all the visitors, to invent their biography, and to comment their choices like "Omg lady it's you again and you want more ice cream?! you already ordered 3 scoops of ice cream in the morning, you won't fool anyone here by changing your clothes".
So you work your way to 5 stars and posh ladies, ordering wine and lobster. Both music and art style are lovely, food is drawn yummy and appetizing, and it makes you want to cook it in real life. Side missions like dating, vip guests, robbery and hardcore catering\iron cook events gives you healthy dose of fun and competitive expirience.
I recommend it to people who admit existence of their inner child, who understand that it is just a very cute&casual simulator, who are curious enough to read all the spam letters and food description, and who will addictively push wrong buttons while cooking the most horrible soup in the universe.

Cook, Serve, Delicious is not your average restaurant sim. Instead of waiting tables and clearing checks, you’re more of a line cook who owns a small restaurant in a business tower. Your main goal is to achieve what every chef wants, a five star restaurant. Each day, customers order off your customizable menu and you prep and cook their food by hitting the corresponding keys to each item, such as ‘L’ to add lettuce on a burger. This sounds relatively simple but can certainly become challenging when the clock is ticking and customers are getting impatient.

At the end of each day, you get a report of how you did. How many good/average/bad orders you did, how much you earned in tips and from orders, how many chores (such as washing dishes and taking out the trash) you did etc. This performance can have a negative or positive on what the game calls “daily buzz”. Buzz essentially controls how many customers will visit your restaurant, how patient they are and how much they’ll tip. Obviously, the higher your buzz, the better. Your buzz is affected by the food on your menu, as well as weather, time of day and equipment bought from the store. For example, foods such as fish or french fries are considered too smelly for mornings and will give you negative buzz during morning hours. However, fish is a high priced item and both fish and fries are quick and easy to prepare. For some players, this may outweigh the morning hours negative effects. While following the daily buzz is probably in the player’s best interest in terms of cash flow, you can still certainly ignore it and you would still be able to gradually upgrade your restaurant.

Aside from working in your restaurant, you can also complete challenges to earn some extra cash. Catering events which pit you against the clock to serve as many themed dishes as possible. In Iron Cook, a clever play on the Japanese game show Iron Chef, you must serve wave after wave of orders. The orders get more complex the more waves you complete and if you mess up three orders, you fail the challenge.
Somewhat similarly, in Hunger Festival, a play on Hunger Games, you must complete 20-30 orders but if you mess up even one order, you fail the challenge. While these challenges don’t add too much to the gameplay, they’re still a nice break from a day of service.

As you get further in the game, you start earning silver tickets which you can use to make “silver ticket bets”. The Silver Ticket Robot challenges you to get a certain number of perfect orders in a row with the menu items s/he specifies. This gives your menu a mix-up as well as adding a little challenge to your day.

Although gameplay doesn’t evolve much throughout the game and may become repetitive at times, there is certainly quite a few new recipes and equipment to buy while you improve your restaurant to be worthy of five stars and this can keep you playing for hours.
