What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We released our Pre-Alpha over a year ago, we got great feedback and now need to reach out to more players! With Steam we can the the suggestions and feedback of a larger player base and really create a game everyone can enjoy.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We do not know how long we will be in early access, you hope to bring the game to a very high quality during early access with your help and support.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version will have much more content, additional missions, new vehicles, multiple enemies, etc. We also expect to get feedback from Early Access to further develop what you want in the game.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“At the moment, the game features the core mechanics that will be present in the game. Both Single Player and Multiplayer are available in basic form so that the community can give us further feedback on what areas to focus on.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Buying the game in Early Access means that you are giving us your money for a half finished game. We understand this and that is why the Early Access price is slightly less than the full priced game as extra incentive to purchase Recruits early and help us out with development.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We would like players to give us feedback of Recruits via our forums, comments, and reviews. We will read all of these and take them on board with our development of the game.”

Recruits - Development Status

Hello everybody from Steam community,

First of all, we ask the most sincere apologies about the lack of information and updates on the development of Recruits.

We would also like to announce that QUByte Interactive established a commitment to Commotion Games and will continue developing Recruits.

At this moment, we are doing a careful review in the game, collecting feedback and working together with Robert Dukes and Jason El-Massih, the game creators.

However, before we restart the development process, we are making a very important task: migrate the entire game UDK3 technology for Unreal 4 with the intention of keeping the game with the quality it deserves. In the near future, it migration will give you the opportunity to play on other platforms.

Our main focus today is the version of Steam for Windows. After that, we will go to other platforms.

To reward the patience of all players, we are offering you a small gift: a free Recruits OST (will be available here on Steam).

In addition, for all those who have already bought the Recruits, we are sending you a key of our game HTR+ Slot Car Simulation.

Unfortunately, we can not reward you with Steam version. So, we will send you to another online store. Please, send us an e-mail to and you will receive the key.

From now on, we will be here answering everybody and collecting feedbacks.

We believe in the potential and we enjoy Recruits. We want to continue the great work done by Commotion Games and deliver you an amazing game. You deserve it!

Thank you.
QUByte Team

Looked very promising, but the developers decided to abandon it at pretty much the first possible opportunity.
Also, as usual, Valve doesn't give a frak and is still selling this abandonware.

Update May 5, 2015:
A user named mcabral said on the forum that development is being continued 'from now' and that they (QUByte Interactive, a Brazilian game studio) will announce their 'partnership with Commotion Games'.

Running into groups with machine guns in hand in the new gen game charming inspired by war films of decade of 1980. The game is still in beta and naturally has either little problem, but playing it was a rewarding experience.

The game is very detailed, very beautiful, with a great song, a good graphic polishing and climate change and environments (rain or night for example) complete the experience.

In addition there are a variety of stages and vehicles that require you to adapt continuously. In some stages you should be Rambo or Bradock exploding everything you see ahead, in other quite James Bond.

The game is not yet ready, but despite the negative points (support for control is weird) already showed me that this will be a great game.

I can not wait to have it (full) in my hands.
