This game punishes you on the last level for no reason, and this ruins what is otherwise a fun game. You can have 20 lives left and then hit the last level and just get crushed, forcing you to restart. You then spend another 20-40 minutes to reach the boss level, and then get destroyed without any hint about why. In any other game in this genre, if your strategy is good enough for 19 levels? It would be good for the 20th.

But in this game? No, ♥♥♥♥ your strategy. Start over.

This time, plan your entire strategy for that 20th level stomp.

And then if you're like me? You'll end up looking at strategies/guides before starting the level again, to make sure you don't get killed at the end for no reason. Then you start copy and pasting a strat to 'win'. At that point the game just become a 'linear instruction following' simulator, all because it decided to have an impossible last level on every map.

This game saved me soooo many time from dying in Programming class.
Its a tower defence game, with: a cute art style, semi-decent music, fantastic gameplay, branching tower upgrades that are actually worth the gold, and an overall sort of 'not serious' atmosphere about it.
And heros. Don't forget to slect one ok? They make or break games.

There is a lot of content here for 9 bucks and its well worth it.

Hey dudes. Thanks for being there in class when I needed a distraction.

Good grief, I had 90% the mobile version and just realize I've logged 206 hours on the Steam version over an embarassingly short time period.

It's happy. I don't know how else to put it. I loath phone/tablet gaming, so I found myself flicking rapidly from one title to the next, downloading, playing, deleting... I tripped over KR (the kids at Ironhide made it free once the sequals came out), and it's the first mobile game that I didn't delete... purchased :Frontiers and :Origins also.

it's quick enough to just plop down and play for a bit, but has enough tactical depth to make you want to *continue* playing for more bits. I adore the art style (the "Minish Cap" Esque art was the first draw for me, to be honest. HAH! "Draw"... see what I did there?). The cheerful little cartoon world is a place I'd like to visit... hell, I wrote a review here:

I fell in love with this game in 2010 on my iPod touch 4th Gen. I was wandering around on steam and stumbled upon it and was shocked.

I have to say the game feels amazing. Whereas PopCap failed to put Plants Vs. Zombies in a good Steam game, Kingdom Rush fits well. I have encountered no problems or bugs so far. Overall this is amazing and fun. It reminds me why I fell in love with this game in the first place. The simple, yet strategic, thought provoking game is one of a kind. I would buy the 2nd and 3rd games in this Kingdom Rush Series if they were to come on Steam.

Easily one of the best Tower Defense games ever produced. It's smooth, imaginative, challenging, complicated and fun. It's main strong point is its strategy with simple paths but formidable foes coming from several directions. Your defenses are intricate and diverse with one of the best upgrade systems I've ever used. There's tons of movie references in the clever and well produced voice-overs and the little extras on some levels make it more enjoyable. Colorful graphics, well-designed and challenging levels. The game is also pretty big, and it will take you a while to get through everything. I highly recommend this game.

You'd think fixing tower positions would take something away and yet Kingdom Rush proves challenging and enjoyable.

A classic. I played the online version a couple of years ago and now I am replaying it on steam. If you like tower defense games (and even if you don't like them), this is a must have.

An extremely fun TD game. Probably the best one on Steam.

The graphics look great.
The theme is fun.
The levels are well built.
The upgrades are interesting and varied.
The achievements are about secrets and overall gameplay, not "Grind this bs level 25 times" or something impossible.
The trading cards are usually worth 0,13€ or so.

BUT THERE IS ONE MASSIVE FLAW:
You don't have a fast forward button due to the engine being shoddy. Due to that the playtime will be padded out with some bs waiting for enemies that will undoubtedly die.

Overall
8.5/10
(Every game starts off at a 5/10 and the grade rises/lowers with the pros and cons that are present in the game)
