What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We want to build Nekro with as much player feedback as possible - that means every person that contributes with ideas has helped design the game. With almost half of the features in the game having been honed and tailored to player feedback, we have truly made Nekro something special. Early access gives us the ability to make sure you as the player get exactly the game you wanted.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We are planning to release Nekro Q2 of 2015.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version will simply have more content, as all of the core mechanics are already in place. The game is very playable and polished as it stands.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game is 70% complete in its current state and features half the main campaign, a complete host of monsters to summon and Nekros to control.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We are still determining the best pricing model for when the game releases.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“The community has been and will continue to be a pivotal part of Nekro's development. Contributing to the game is as simple as making a post in our forums. If you provide constructive feedback, we will almost always listen and respond.”

I bought the game 2-pack cause dev said there will be coop multiplayer. Now he is talking about some life problems being excuse for not making coop (or even finishing the game)

Avoid like plague! Another worthless EA scam (yes a scam! I bought the game cause it said coop, and now I cannot even refund it and I dont get the content advertised to me which made me to buy the product, so it is a SCAM)

A cute game that quickly goes from easy to impossible. The first several levels can be beaten without unlocking any sins or minions. Then you need them...then you get the obelisk level where one faction will always win.

Unfortunately, you must also unlock a minion from a previous tier before getting the next...which can be rather annoying considering how useless some of them are. I rather like having a flying bat army, but I swear it's impossible to keep them alive once you start going up against humans with dynomite. The limited sins you have also makes it so you must specialize in only a-couple minions...meaning you can only use those few minions as you will not beable to maintain your max army for long.

Oh well, early access problems only, I hope. I'd like to see this game improve and play again in the future.

Not really a bad game, but I feel this game is really boring and tedious. I got stuck on some mission and I don't even want to go on. There are lots of better games out there.

On the plus side - the atmosphere, nice graphics, fine sound.
On the minus side - this game is really slow (you need to put some character points into speed stat just to move faster), some levels are very difficult without any hint - sudden difficulty jump

Overall I do not recommend this one, but if you can get it at about 1-2 $/E (take a look at different bundles out there) then you may give it a shot, maybe it would be fine for you.

devs had this game in a bundle and i bought 2 bundles. Then they had some key leak or something and now the other key wont work. Quite rudely they say that u can post the request for a key once and if u ask about it you will not get the replacement key. Its been 6 months and im still waiting for a key.
a lot of people have lost keys because of the devs

Early Access Review
Nekro is by far one of the most well built early access games so far. At 15 USD, I think it's worth a look into if you're looking for a fast paced fun little game. The game looks absolutely wonderful and whatever content they've published is so far very well done.

Now I saw this title in the Strategy tab so my opinions maybe coming from a different angle. I feel as though there isn't say too much depth in the actual strategy portion. From the screenshots it looks as though you play from a short of an RTS view however, in game it is much more a like to the overlord series. From the bottom of your screen you have a list of summons, AKA spells and actual summons. You use the spells as you might imagine and you plop down your minions using blood a reasource harvested from the enemy units. From what I've played, you can only issue very general orders to your minions, you can order them to attack and thats about it. I suppose there's some depth in the fact that you can say chain your minions and your own ablities. Playing as the support/healer caster type, I issue an attack or rather swarm order to my troops then throw down a healing potion at the enemy greatly enhancing the effect.

In the RPG vain, again the game is fairly simple at the time being. At the start of your campaign you lock into one of the currently three hero classes for the rest of the campaign. You can upgrade simple portions of your class such as the amount of damage, health and reasource caps after each mission. You can also gain item recipies which will allow you to equip some interesting items which can be used once per mission to great effect. I was a little dissappointed by the unit selection though. Over the course of missions you gain the oppritunity to unlock new minions, often there is a choice between two mutally exclusive types. However after about five missions into the game you start to run out of choices. The game doesn't seem to have the later minions done, so once you finish the first two branches the choice portion dissappears.
