About This Game

Perfection. is a simple, soothing puzzle game about cutting shapes to fit into outlines. There are an infinite number of puzzles, each randomly generated to be unique and interesting.

Its gameplay is very minimalistic and very forgiving; there is no time limit, and you can cut as many times as you want and undo as many times as you want until you get each shape right. Or, you can challenge yourself to clear the shape in front of you in as few cuts as possible. Whether you get it perfect or not, once a shape is completed, it's gone forever. There's no commitment to replay any level, because there will always be a new one for you to try.

The game's soundtrack is a beautiful synthesized soundscape, composed by Omni-Psyence and available on Bandcamp for free.

I can't quite place what exactly it is, but there is something immensely dislikeable about Perfection.

Maybe it's the lack of any foreseeable goal, leaving you endlessly cutting through random shapes for no other reason than to get to the next one. Without and end game, scoring system, or any other tool with which to gauge progression it makes me feel like my time is being wasted, abused as if I'm some sort of labrat for a bizarre visualization test.

Or it could just be that slicing up random shapes into a different random shapes is just very, very, very work. It's also tediously finicky in this instance, occasionally accepting a shape that's far from the outline you're aiming for, and other times requiring you finely chip away at it bit by bit until it matches up. For a game seemingly aiming to create a zen like relaxation with no penalties and a clean, uncluttered graphical design, I found myself getting shockingly annoyed with each passing moment I spent with the game (so much so that I had to turn it off after only 20 minutes or so).

Basically what I'm getting at here is Perfection is anything but. It's presentation is aesthetically pleasing from a minimalistic standpoint, and its sound design is suitable atmospheric, but I found it impossible to gleam any bit of satisfaction or enjoyment from the game no matter how hard I tried. The harder I did so, the more I began to hate having ever decided to try in the first place.

Perfection is a simple puzzle game but will you want to play it ? Perfection essiantly a puzzle game where you get an outline and a shape and you try to cut it in a way that fits the outline. So is Perfection a good game ? No its not. The game is quite boring to say the least. The game randomizes the shapes but it quickly runs out and you see the same shapes over and over again and it gets tiresome soon. The game is quite fun for a few minutes but after that it gets boring fast. Overall If you get this game super cheap you can buy it for a quick play but you shouldnt play if youre looking for a bigger game. This game should have had levels instead of random shapes. Overall there isnt alot i can say about Perfection But i suggest you dont buy it unless you get it cheap. I give Perfection a 3/10

AHAHAHA.

AHAHA.

This game was so painfully broken, it's ridiculous. I load it up and I usually get a black screen, and a couple of white boxes containing the word/letters 'Res'. Sometimes there's more. There's definitely things in the darkness, but I can't see them. Managed to get into the game but it was horrible and quite literally unplayable.

I checked my requirements and everything was okay.

In short, ouch. No bueno.

Perfection... it was not for me. I could see people enjoying it, especially at that price. For me its lacking tho. The one thing I loved was the soothing music, excellent choice for a puzzle game.

I wouldn't recommend it, but I won't say it's a bad game either.

Do you like to do handicrafts? Do you especially like cutting paper? But the scissors are too heavy? Well then perhaps this game could be something for you!

Perfection. Is a game about cutting the right lines to create a figure just like the outlining figure.

I do like puzzle games, but this game just lacks creativity. I'm sure a game like this has never been done before, just because the idea is too simple.

Only buy this game if you are a 100% puzzle lover and tried most of the other puzzle games on Steam.

Most definitely wasn't Perfection.

From the looks of the trailer it seemed as if it had potential at the least.
I imagined a stage by stage levelling system with a certain amount of levels in each stage, increasingly getting harder as you progressed. I thought this was going to be one of my next puzzle games that I can sit and have a think about and come back to every now and then until I finally got to the end of the last stage…

…well, nope.

There literally is no structure to it at all. It’s just random level after random level. I am assuming with no end, which makes it boring. It seemed a unique concept and I was really looking forward to seeing how it played out. But it’s just done terribly, I’m afraid. Like a lot of the other reviews say, it just gets boring after 5 minutes. Because in the trailer, that literally is all you are getting. Some structure to it would have made this a lot better in my opinion, but what it is now is just… horrible.

The HUD, if it even qualifies to be considered one, is rather poo. After like 5 minutes of trying to figure what the hell it was, it just seems to be three difficulty levels. 1) Cut, 2) Cut and rotate and 3) Cut, rotate and resize. Which just changes what you can do with the shape. No menu or anything, that’s it.

The music isn’t bad, it’s fairly decent but it doesn’t make up for this games lack of content or structure. This would be ok if you are just looking for some mindless… not even sure I can say ‘mindless fun’ actually, it’s not fun at all after the first 2 minutes of playing around on it. If you are looking for some mindless pointlessness, There you go, much better, then boy is this the game for you!

TL;DR : No structure, no fun, poo HUD and definitely not worth your time. Unless you are just looking for some mindless pointlessness or 2 minutes (at the most) of fun.

It's good for only a little bit. All you have to do is make the perfect cut in order to make the perfect shape. THAT'S IT. Luckily the game is cheap. The game isn't for everybody though I mean some people might like it. I DO think the idea of the game was quite interesting for the most part. I see that it's just a game you chillout to and that it is made to do one simple objective, but its not my cup of tea. I play it once in awhile, but not for too long.

The game itself despite having great music is rather too simple to be engaging and lacks an engaging HUD. Furthermore, it appears at first to be a well designed game and after a while of playing i have deduced that it is a bad port of a mobile game. On a phone this game would be good but on PC? No.

8/10 Music
6/10 Gameplay
2/10 Port Success
10/10 Feeling of Being Cheated

If Zen Bound were in 2D and randomly generated, this is probably what you'd get. An endless procession of shapes wanting to be sliced down to fit a puzzle-piece shape in as few moves as possible for "perfection". Has a couple of alternate modes involving scaling and rotation too.

Very soothing, but probably not to everyone's tastes.

Well, this is first time that I do NOT want to recommend a game.

In fact, this game looks like "iSlash" in iOS that seem to be fun so why I downward my thumb? Because I can't play it and when I looked for help from developer, he just said that my GPU is not compatability with a game so he can't do anything about this, I have to play it on other machines.

Seriously?? Is this what developer supposed to do?

Not only for me, if you look through entire forum of this game you will find out many people with same problem like me and developer blamed that it's player's fault to use insuitable GPU rather than his fault for not moving his gluteus muscle (Buttock) and start solving problem like release new patch or whatever that other developers did.

However, this game has a good music that I spent 1 hour for listening. I'm glad I got this game from bundle not from buy at full price. Truthfully, DO NOT buy this game until developer fixed bug.

It's ironic that Perfection is anything but perfect. In fact, all you do is cut up a shape so that it fits between a certain border. Sounds lame ? Oh, it definitely is.
It might be cheap, but it's not worth it. A fun game for mobile devices maybe, but not for us PC users.

This game has potential. I'd play and finish this game if it had levels, but it hasn't. It's very boring now. Also Achievements would've probably made it a lot more fun.

Perfection is a minimalistic puzzle game. The main premise is that you can cut portions of an irregular object off in order to make it fit inside the outline provided. Scoring is based on how many "cuts" it took as well as how it fits inside the outline when all is said and done. With that being said, scoring doesn't really matter as far as I can tell, because there is no actual goal to the game. It is basically a way of gauging your performance before moving on to the next puzzle.

I recommend this game as long as you know what you are getting. It is an audio and visual treat, but it is a minimalistic game, so don't expect much more than what you see in the trailer. $3 may be a little steep, but I managed to pick this game up for pennies on the dollar during a bundle, and I got my worth out of it.

Verdict: 8.9/10 Just because there actually is not much to do inside of the game, but the game that is there is well executed.

In Perfection you get random shapes you must cut in to a smaller shape. There aren't things like scores or anything. And after 5 shapes it's get boring. I recommend to go and cut some vegetables with a kitchen knife for dinner instead of playing this game.

Polished flash game. You cut things carefully. They don't bleed. Overall well done, and fairly priced. But nonetheless too simplistic to enjoy for longer than about 5 minutes.

I played this game... And... Let me just tell you a story.
I was playing perfection. The first few levels were actually kinda fun! It was like a super crappy puzzle game that was just kinda good for the first two or three levels. I then got to the levels where you have to start rotating the object... It was probably the most painful and miserable moment of my whole life... I felt blood dripping from my fingers. It was all over my keyboard. I then took a knife and started to chop at my moniter... I just couldn`t simply turn off my moniter becasue I knew when i went ahead and turned it back on, Perfection would be there. To fix this problem. I took a magnet and shoved it inside my tower, onto my harddrive destroying it and any evidence of me ever playing Perfection. I then made this new steam account. It was tempting to go back on the store and buy that stupid game again. I tried to stop myself. I even considered suicide. But nothing could stop me. It was like being addicted to herione. I started playing I only made it 14 minutes before I collapsed on the floor. An ambulance came to save me after my neigbours saw that I never came out of my house for at least 4 weeks. I was just on the floor twitching. They managed to bring me back to life. All I had to do was play a small amount of Perfection every day to create a antibody to this thing that they call a game. Just recently I went one day without playing Perfection. It was very painful. I could feel my skin rolling up and rotting as if I was dead but still alive. If you see me now, I don`t even look human. All I look like is a pile of flesh. My heart seemed to have stopped the day I started playing perfection. I`m DEAD INSIDE! But still some sort of living being on the outside.

If you don`t want to be like me, never lay your eyes on this game. Don`t even consider buying. Look at the page and turn away. This is a warning. I`m Sorry to all the people that have already bought the game. DON`T BUY THIS GAME! And thanks for reading :D

Do I recommand this game ? No, don't buy it, even for 1 cent. All the game can be seen in the trailer, and it is poor. There are many (free) Flash games with the exact same gameplay and better graphics not to bother about this one. The gameplay is not even perfect (for a so simple game) mostly because the cursor is way too big and the icons are not intuitive.

This is a nice mind game, it makes you think, "So if i cut it here, then i can match it there, so it will fit there!" That's great brain practice. It's only 3 dollars, so, it's just something to do if youre bored, plus its brain practice..woo!
