Impression after 2 hours and sorry for my english :)

There's a ridiculous story involving two sides who constantly get into asinine arguments. These fights spiral into an all-out war, where both sides draw swords, conjure magic and do everything in their power to take over the other team's base.
Players get to choose between 3 classes - a warrior, cleric and mage. As you can imagine, each of these occupations have their own abilities and attributes.
The warrior, is best for brute strength tactics. The moves mostly revolve around close-quarters fighting.
On the other hand, there's the mage, who uses magic to throw spells and summon hurricanes. This class is good at long-range combat, but is vulnerable up close. Somewhere in between is the cleric, who can be used to erect ladders and other useful objects.
Fortunately, the game offers enough variety to keep the simple objectives interesting even when you're completing them for the 20th time.
For starters, you rank up as you take out enemies and secure towers. Those ranks allow better and more effective gear to be equipped.
You start out without the option to wear much of anything, but victory in combat grants you in-game currency called "happy coins" that you can then spend placing bets on a spinning wheel and maybe winning prizes if you're lucky.
You can also spend currency to upgrade the gear that you've already acquired and would like to keep using. If you feel like you’re wasting too much time trying to find worthwhile booty in battle or by gambling on the prize wheel, you can also invest in “happy tickets”.
Tickets allow you to quickly obtain a bundle of weapons, accessories, or one of several types of armor. Purchasing a bundle of each of the five available types will set you back more than half your tickets, and then you’ll still need to level up those weapons by spending coins earned in combat.

Every match plays out in largely the same way. Everybody starts out at level one, but with a few kills, your character will quickly gain levels and start to unlock new abilities and a larger health bar.
The idea is to capture several checkpoints across the map, that way players will respawn closer to the opposing base.
From there you're only one battle away from storming the enemy castle and becoming the victors. If you aren't successful at capturing the other team's base, then a winner will be decided at the end of fifteen minutes.

An problem is whether players will actually care to fight the same wars for very long. After spending a number of hours fighting for supremacy, I to get sick of the game's sameness. It's competitive enough to be addictive, but not deep enough to keep your attention for very long. It's the kind of thing I might return to every month or two, when there's absolutely nothing else to play.

It is, after all, a game you don't have to pay for. Happy Wars is a simple multiplayer action game.
While it is ripe with problems. You won't find anything original here, but the fast-paced action is both chaotic and addictive. Unfortunately, though Happy Wars has the potential to be a fantastic experience that is well worth your time and perhaps even your money.

Sorry for my bad english. This is my review account, because the low playtime.

As much as I want to love this game(believe me, I do), I really can't recommend this game to anyone because of the atrocious matchmaking and rather repetetive gameplay/modes. It is a mediocre port locked at 30fps. There is no communication in lobbies or in matches, except for the small commands in matches, which do not really matter at all because they are constantly spammed, making them serve barely any purpose at all.

The visual style is both charming and gorgeous, and the gameplay is fun and addicting, but it is all the other negative factors that pulls my verdict for the game down.

There are no official servers or support for community servers, the game is 100% peer to peer. You are often tossed in matches with people from the other side of the globe, then kicked out in the middle of the match because either A. The match was ended because there are too few players to actually countinue(everyone else has been disconnected), or B. You have lost connection to the other peers.

EDIT: A small point that I left out was the microtransactions present in Happy Wars. Certain items are pay2win only, but most of the items are available through luck and grinding, as expected for a f2p title. The happy tickets (Happy War's premium currency) can be used to get easier access to equipment or to make progress on certain quest. For some, premium players might seem overpowered for some, but it all depends on how well you play, not just you, but you and your team.

EDIT: In Happy Wars, each basic class possesses one archtype (advanced class), which are unlocked through the various quests in the game. The quests consist of for the most part of "doing this" or "kill x amount of that", again, more grinding. As I mentioned earlier, Happy Tickets can be used to make progress on certain quests, giving premium players easier access to the archtypes.

The community is also rather dull and the developers are barely communicating/and or listening to the players. I expressed my thoughts on the lack of servers a while back and ended up getting my comment removed.

+Gorgeous visual style
+Good soundtrack
+Addictive and fun gameplay

-Horrible matchmaking
-Locked framerate(locked at 30)
-Lack of communication both in matches and in lobbies
-The game gets somewhat repetetive after X amount of hours
-No sign of the developers actually communicating with the players
-Somewhat p2w

EDIT: For those who are rating this review down, please leave a comment and tell me why, I want to hear your opinions. General feedback is also much appreciated.

I really enjoy this game! It is funny, creative, and can be very competitive. I watched my roommate play this game 24/7, and spend his entire paycheck on this game, not regretting it. I cannot believe how addicting this game can be.

I love being the Cleric, and going to their castle, and just breaching it before they even realize they lost.

-Worth spending time on
-Items are very fun to obtain
-Customizing your character can be hella funny
-Very diverse classes
-Small game requirements
-Takes up barely a Gb

-Connections are terrible
-Lack of team communications
-Team isn't always the best (on the other hand, it's rare to find a terrible team)
-Constant disconnecting and performing "illegal actions"

I would recommend this game to anyone who likes to willingly spend time with their friends, and have a little competition involved.

I would very happily give this game a 9/10 and after writing this review, go back to playing it

The matchmaking is simply the worst. Novice players get paired up with high leveled players who smack you down with one hit.

Fair matchmaking = 0

This game has a very large issue, in the pvp match ups. They will match up players, with full sets of very op gear, with new players, who have very poor gear. It makes the game unplayable, as a new player. Definatly don't play this game, until they implement a better system.

English Review
This game is quite fun and easy. Good graphics, games pit system, the characters look cool. When initiating a play you can play Tutorial, then it Single Player. Expen-level damage quickly when fighting enemies and use spells that are really perfect and their quantity. You can control your troops, but also nepriatelia, or PC are also strong. The only thing I dislike is that the figures could be higher and could be a game for the Multiplayer.
My rating 7/10.

Slovak Review
Moje hodnotenie 7/10.

Really great game and despite the simple design and graphics style, the game is actually very tactical and the different classes all offer a different way of playing all of which are needed to win a battle. Overall it is a really fun, enjoyable game that will never get old due to its easy to learn difficult to master style and the need for teamwork to be successful. Also since its free there is no reason not to get it right now.

Completely unbalanced and broken damage system. For some reason or another the ai can stun a player with every little touch while the player is barely allowed to do damage even when using an over powered weapon and slashing at the enemy's back. I haven't been able to find half the maps in game that are shown which just ticks me off. Another issue is some of the skills are supposed to have a duration, half the time those just stop instantly for no reason and leave the player open to attack. By no reason I mean no reason, didn't get hit, didn't fall off a ledge, didn't hit a wall, nothing. The only way to win is to flat out zerg rush in and sometimes that only backfires because some things on the feild like the bombs don't go at the enemy. Infact they seem to have some delay that the ai can use to kick the bombs at you WITHOUT a delay. Now for the good, when you do zerg rush and win it gets addictive. That's the only good thing I can think of. The weapons and customization are nice but they aren't exactly enough for me to sing praises. The worst part though, for me, is the delay on the start! Even though my online connection is always 4 or 5 bars, I spawn in last and I have to wait additional time before I can leave the castle. People who spawn in after me are allowed to go but I can't until every other player and the ai has gotten a 30 secod head start on me. The only way I can reccomend this game is if you are as persistent as I am and I am PERSISTENT!

When I launched the game... I had tons of connection problems and network errors.
When I finally got in game I couldn't finish tutorial.
So it took me 1 hour of my total gameplay to finish the tutorial , just beacuse I was exploring.
When I finally got in the multiplayer.
Then I died.
It was my best funeral ever.
Thank you "Happy Wars" !

Keep getting disconnected while entering a game, halfway through the game and at the start of the game. Many others are also having this issue and there are no solutions online. The game is also plainly ported over to PC without adding basic functions such as TEXT CHAT.

Oh look! It's as broken, ugly and unbalanced as it was on the Xbox 360! What's that?! *happy wars character whispers in ear* It doesn't support Windows XP either! It's a real shame, it had so much promise but the fact that it's free-to-play makes it worse, microtransactions like the £30 starter pack etc.
Sorry but no, good premise but poorly executed in my opinion.
3/10 (purely because it's free and isn't 100% evil and broken, it's also mildly entertaining I'll grant it that)

This game is fairly decent, especially on the Steam release.

In my opinion, at least, this version I see better. It may be downgraded, sure, but in reality, after playing this version for a while, I really don't see shelling out $60/yr just to play this game. Sure, there are other great titles on the Xbox, but most also have an emphasis on multiplayer. Since becoming a regular on the PC gaming community, I have seen the $60 for XBLG as not worth an investment.

In terms of gameplay, it is relatively unchanged. Despite coming from a downgraded version of the Xbox release, the same formula carries on from the Xbox version, but with it, the same flaws. One major flaw is the lack of alternative gamemodes. The developers would at least have done their best to incorporate a basic free-for-all/team deathmatch gamemode (which everybody knows everybody likes).

Another major flaw is that some of the elements in this game indeed work on paper, but in practical terms, there are elements that stand out from the rest. These elements can bias gameplay toward certain play styles, but again, on matches with the ideal amount of participants, things like this make little to no difference.

Diving in to game-specific details, the primary objective is to siege the enemy's fort before the enemy does the like to you. You have two general options in this case: a full-scale rush, or a stealth trial. Stealth, however, is a bit of a mess. Even if you happen to get lucky from the skilled players not knowing you are behind enemy lines (or even the rest of the conditions are in your favor), the AI are self-conscious and can easily tell you are in their grounds. Despite this, the AI are relatively weak and are pretty easy to kill. But especially with lack of communication (even in this version) and an inability to fully hide yourself, it makes stealth almost a non-option. There are times where players have succeeded in such a risk, but again, these kinds of stuff are more luck-based than skill-based.

Overall, besides the many execution failures in this game, this game is nevertheless a good experience. For those who have the Xbox version, it is indeed a worthwhile move to get this version and try it out. But accounting for the minor and little number of major flaws this game has, I wouldn't necessarily recommend this game to respect those who would rant from me, but at the same time, I woudn't say this is something to stay away from. However, because Steam requires it, my final score is the only deciding factor in my recommendation.

Like I said, many features in the Xbox version are not present in this version, though I doubt any sort of dramatic addition on the Xbox will make it worth it for me to shell out another year of XBLG.

Happy Wars PC gets a 7.1 out of 10, and being above 7 gets my recommendation.
