*I recommend this game only if it goes on sale or gets a serious update*
As of right now I've put about 30+ hours into the game. (Offline play, that's why the hours don't match up.)
I purchased this game very early on at a reduced price around $10 or so and at that time it seemed tottally worth it. What was promised seemed awesome and backed by a developer I actually liked how could it go wrong? Well it sorta did and didn't. The game had serious bugs like:
Being wiped out within 1-10 minutes by a parasite
Being wiped out within 1-10 minutes by raiders
Save files being deleted
No basic tutorial (now in game)
Promised missing core features
No really settings
While I won't get into specifics a simple google search can easily confirm every one of these points. While some of the perforamce issues have been fixed, gameplay "bugs" still remain. It is incredibly frustrating to spend hours building a large base when within seconds, Because of derpy AI or crazy strong raiders/parasites/space debri, everything you built is gone with no real feeling of acomplishment and a feeling of being cheated by the game. Right now $20 is a crazy high price to sell this game at, especially when starting a new game could last a handfull of minutes to several hours after being cheated and killed. I really hope this game gets some serious gameplay options and core function updates soon. When the game changes significantly I'll update this review to hopefully something more positive.
But seriously Double Fine? $20?!
