Online Multiplayer & Fire In The Deep DLC Now Available

The next big update for Trials Fusion is here, and with it comes the addition of the single highest requested feature since Trials Fusion’s launch; Online Multiplayer. As well as talking about this awesome new feature, we’ll get into the change log and talk a little about what is coming up next in the game.

Trials Online Multiplayer has been a staple for many fans since its introduction in Trials Evolution and our team has been working insanely hard to create this new MP from the ground up in ways that do what they can to increase what you can do with Trials. Not only have we doubled the amount of playable lanes on PC and current-gen systems, but you now have the ability to host and spectate races, tournaments, or even seasons (if you have the patience to deal with all of the data entry).

Spectating isn’t all! Each player’s character will now appear on the closest lane. This is fairly huge in Trials where seeing where small moments of having your view obstructed can be the difference between absolute victory and taking a loss on your card.

Custom races? Oh yeah, we’ve got some tools to help create some insane custom matches. Alter gravity, speed, weight, set everyone on fire and more to help you create some crazy fun matches that rival the insanity of working next to ANBA. You like challenges? We’re sure you’ll soon find community tracks that can try the patience of you and up to 7 of your friends on Track Central.

The tools for creating amazing Online MP tracks will soon be available in the Editor, allowing for unlimited amounts of tracks to be created by the talented Trials community. Create, share and play your favorite Online MP tracks, and just like single player tracks, the studio favorites will find their way into Uplay Recommended for all players to enjoy.

Fire in the Deep! Amidst the infernal heat hidden deep below the Earth's surface, they excavate in secret; burrowing deeper underground through bubbling lava, seedy avenues and titanic rock-crushing machinery.

What secrets are hidden in the sweltering depths of the Earth? Some answers will need to be searched out on your own.

Introducing the largest content pack to date for Trials Fusion. Fire in the Deep adds a whole new career event, new tracks, editor pieces and far more!

  • Nine Classic Trials Tracks
    • 10 hidden audio logs to find
    • 27 new Track Challenges
      • Track Challenges range from secret locations to surprising mini-games, such as:
        • Hunters of Secrets
        • Missile Commander
        • Super Meat Trials
  • One new Skill Game "Circles of Hell"
  • One new FMX Track, "Manic Miner"
  • 2 new garage items
    • “Billy Gruff” helmet
    • New look for the TKO-Panda
  • Dozens of new Editor Objects, including:
    • Mammoth heavy-duty machinery
    • Dynamic lava
    • Genuinely epic train set

Trials Fusion Online MP is included in a free update for Trials Fusion, and Fire in the Deep is available for $4.99 for the DLC, or included in the $19.99 Season Pass, which includes our 3 previous DLC packs, as well as 2 more to come before March 2015. Both the DLC and Season Pass are available on the Trials Fusion Steam Store Page.

It's really sad to see what happened to this game. Trials Evolution was one of the best, if not the best, gaming experiences I've ever had. I had it on the 360 and poured so much time into it. It was the community that sucked me in. I played the singler player for a while before dabbling in the track creation, and only because I had a project in mind that I wanted to see completed. I never really meant to become a editor junkie, but one private multiplayer led to a friend request which led to more private multiplayer which led to more friend requests. Before I knew it, I had maxed out my friends list on Xbox Live, which was crazy considering I only had about 20 people as friends on there before Trials. There were people on Trials all the time, and it was usually only a matter of seconds after my Xbox went online before I was in a party with a crew of Trials players.

Trials to me was always about this community. Sure, I grinded out plats on all the single player tracks, but that was only because the community egged me on. Most of the time was spent either in the editor, working on something for friends to test in private mp, or testing out someone else's track in a different private mp session.

There always was a nagging desire to test out something new in the editor, even if it never saw the light of day. Trying to find ways around the glitchy physics was like a somewhat broken jigsaw puzzle. It was a blast to see something that found ways around the limitations in the engine and made things happen that got everyone excited. If there wasn't multiplayer on Trials, I would have never gone to the forums or dedicated time in the editor.

Then I gave my Xbox to someone, originally just to borrow while I moved. I had planned on taking it back, but for one reason or another I didn't. I gave up Trials cold turkey and the community faded away for me. I quit just as the first DLC was coming out, whatever time that was, and only came back into Trials when I saw Fusion on Steam. I was so excited to get back into it. I hopped on the pre-release beta as soon as I could.

The magic formula is gone though. Maybe it will come back, but it was such a simple formula that I couldn't believe they would screw it up: Sharing creations with friends and constantly challenging yourself to improve. The second part is still there, but what constituted the heart of the game to me is gone. The leaderboard chasers can still enjoy this, but I never cared about that. If you can't play this game with friends, then there's no point in it for me anymore. I tried making a few tracks, but that was lacking too. Most of the fun in the editor never actually made it to the public, either because it was too stupid or glitchy to release or because it was just fragments of ideas that popped into existence for a single attempt and then was discarded.

I tried to keep hope that Redlynx would fix things, but that has proved pointless so far. I'm partly upset with myself for falling for the pre-release trap. Even companies that you expect to make gold can produce plastic. You'll hear lots of words about the future of Fusion and how everything is going to be fine, but actions speak louder than words. Bringing out paid DLC before even finishing the features (multiplayer) advertised when I bought the game was the final knife in the back. Everytime I see Fusion in my library I wish it was worth playing, but until Redlynx brings in private mp again I won't touch it. Even if they do, I wonder if I'll have any interest left for it.

Edit: So multiplayer is out, but it wasn't worth the wait for me. Just a revamped version of supercross, which I don't care about. All of the great tracks that have been created so far can't be played in mp because they aren't supercross. Supercross tracks take more time and effort to make well than a regular track takes, so I don't expect to see many really good supercross tracks. I would much rather play some well-crafted single player maps in ghost mode mp than supercross tracks, but it looks like that won't happen for fusion.

In response to the question "So the lack of private multiplayer is what makes this game not recommendable?
What about the rest of the game?"
Yes, the rest of the game, in my opinion, is the same as or worse than Trials Evolution, so I would recommend get that instead. Community content keeps this game afloat, so not being able to enjoy community content with friends, supercross content aside, and not being able to get proper level creation feedback through private mp testing sessions is important.

This game's alright... I'm not at all alright while playing it, but I still love it. After the rage wears off, the game gives you a good sense of accomplishment when you finally get that 0 fault gold medal run, especially on later (hard) stages.

While Trials Fusion is a streamlined trials game (it is much, much easier than Evolution), there is still a good amount of hard tracks in the base game, and a few of them only the most persistent players will be able to "gold medal" (while others will rage quit out of the game and write a review...). There are 8 zones in the base game, and each one has 6 to 10 tracks in it (8 on average), that number is significantly increased with the season pass, which adds 6 new zones. Right now, 9/10/2014, the season pass only offers 3 zones, with 3 more on the way before May 2015. The game also includes a track editor, so you can create your own tracks, and you can easily access and play tracks built by other people online (which are pretty impressive from what I've seen/played).

Now I'm not a big fan of Ubisoft's PC releases, because I usually get hit by poor optimization issues that plague a lot of their games at release, this game's performance however, pleasantly surprised me and put a big fat smile on my face, after the stutter fest that was Trials Evolution Gold Edition, I wasn't very hopeful going into this one. The game runs perfectly smooth maxed out on my machine, and the only stutter I got was on a graphically intensive track, while I had 2 video streams running in the background, after trying the same track without flash videos hogging my cpu, the stutter went away, and the game ran buttery smooth again.

For reference, my PC specs are:

i7 920 @3Ghz
gtx660ti 2gb
8gb ram
win7 64bit

It's worth mentioning that the game has a pretty good, yet weird sense of humor, for example whenever you finish a track, something funny and dumb is sure to happen, like the rider falling of his bike after he crosses the finish line, landing in the water and racing a cruise ship, or when you cross a finish line that's on top of a 2 story hut, the door closes behind you, and the hut starts flying off like a rocket. I also really enjoy the AI commentary (I guess you can call them the narrators), and the biker's yells and woohoos remind me of Homer Simpson.

This game is a steal even at full price, and on a decent sale it should be a no-brainer if you played and liked previous Trials games, but I'm sure 2D platformer game enthusiasts would love it as well. As for the score, I'm giving it a 9/10.

This game is my go to time killer, it's not for everyone though.
You should NOT buy this game IF you don't like spending hours trying to perfect a level, or use 30 minutes on a level and then have the game tell you that you took too long.

Although this game is so rewarding when you pull off that insanely difficult jump, or when you beat everyones high score. This is a time waster, if you make it through to the extreme maps, then I'd say good luck.

The difficulty of the game ranges from beginner, easy, normal, hard, extreme. When you are on the beginner maps you'll blast through the levels, although when you move up, it'll of course get harder - a lot harder.

The game has 1 big bug which could put you off buying it though. It's that low fps cause a slowmotion effect, which renders the game more or less unplayable. A solution is to lower the settings, but i'd just like to include this.

The DLC that's out so far (3 out of 6 planned) they're all worth picking up IF you like the game. I'd say they're more difficult than the other maps, but not by much. In each DLC you get atleast 9 new trails. I think you'd have to be a person that wants to get the best medal on everything to justify the 5€ price tag though.

I personally love this game when I need to take a break from everything. It's calming and frustrating in a weird sort of way.

Trials Fusion is a work of beauty.

I may not be an aficionado, having only spent ~100 hours playing the original. Mostly by myself, but often with friends, loving every second of it. I've probably crashed 100,000 times, but I have a few accomplishments in the more extreme trials that I'm proud of.

If that describes your love of the game, then you will like this one too. I've read that some people have problems with framerates, but I have not. The video options allow for a lot of tweaking to match your video card's capabilities it seems. I have 18 hours clocked on Trials Fusion at the time of writing this review.

Please take time to read the whole review...

Don't get me wrong, by itself Trials Fusion is awesome. Great graphics, great scenery and overall it has a great feel to it. However, as a person who dedicated over 120 hours into Trials Evolution Gold Edition, I must say that Fusion is pretty underwhelming compared to it.

First of all, there are significantly fewer levels in this game than there are in TEGE. It took me at least 20 hours to get the medal tally required to unlock the platinum medals. It only took me 4 hours to do that in this game. It definitely felt like a step backwards in content.

This leads to the next point - Ubisoft decided that in order for us to get more levels, we'd have to fork out money for a season pass. That's right, they took our beloved Trials franchise and decided to include DLC in it. It definitely feels like a dog move against us.

Lastly, they decided to leave out the most essential feature when they released this game - online multiplayer! And only this year they decide they're finally going to release it? Pretty crap if you ask me.

Final verdict - If you have played Trials Evolution Gold Edition for a while and feel like playing some new, different levels, buy this game when it's on sale, as if you ignore all of its flaws it's a pretty good game.
If you have never played a trials game before, buy Trials Evolution Gold Edition as it is a lot more funt o play than this game.

I've always liked Trials. I'm sure other Trials fans will like this one as well, there's a few downsides to it though.

Major issues in this Trials game:
- Horrible framerate issues. If your machine runs BF4 on high graphics without stuttering, there's no guarantee this won't lag either. Sometimes bad machines perform just as good as good machines on this one. This is #1 issue of Trials Fusion.
- No online multiplayer, only local play. Many people are complaining about this and to be honest, I don't really care much - but it's still worth mentioning.
- The game's average difficulty is (in my opinion) higher than the other games, the real difficult tracks are only low in quantities though.

Despite these issues, I still recommend the game because it's fun, after all. The devs are working on the problems and there are updates from time to time, so the game might have improved by the time you read this.

What a move ubisoft. Now, I was going to rate this as a good game, until I learned that they had not put in multiplayer yet, It would not be a big deal IF they hadn't promised it in release trailers. Alongside that, already 3 DLC packs released? And no multiplayer? Wow, way to go ubisoft. What's also shame about this game is it uses the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ ripoff service "UPlay" to play the promised multiplayer and earn really useless achevements for singleplayer.

Yet again, WAY TO GO UBISOFT!

Edit: They finally put in multiplayer, but its buggy as ♥♥♥♥ and probably had absolutely no effort put into it, I can't even get a simple connection to my friend who plays it, even using multiple third party softwares to try to get it to work.
