First off, don't let the red thumb fool you.
This game's future is looking very cool and at it's current state (Build 14) it's very atmospheric and you can get lost in the world for hours. The weapons that I've tried so far feel fluent and the controls are pretty good. The only gripes I have with this game is what it has to offer at this moment, it's fun but it's early, I absolutely love this game but in later stages it probably will be better experience when there's more cities, vehicles, and just more stuff to explore and find out. Something else that kinda annoys me is that I play my games on a laptop
and with most to almost all the settings turned off or down at a 90 FOV rate I get about ~21 FPS even while near houses, barnes, and fields. And finally, the next isn't a complaint at all, and it's a good thing for most people but the world sizes are HUGE which makes it very boring to just walk around and do nothing while having no clue where anything is and I would love it if in future builds there was other NPC people such as bandits, other survivors, etc. who you could find walking or just riding a vehicle and they could give you directions or just open fire at you. Another thing that I should mention is the pop-ins, currently alot of zombies can just walk through stuff and will never stop following you no matter how far you go, I'm fine with all the things I've listed above considering it's alpha. Finally, (for real this time) a really cool feature about this games is just the buildings (cities, houses, etc.) themselves, they feel very alive and vibrant despite nobody being present in them. tl:dr:
this game is looking like it's going to be one of the best zombie survival games out there but it's early and while you can do alot already, don't expect it to be at it's best development stage the second you buy it.
