What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Early Access allows SNOW to reach its audience sooner and improve the core game through community feedback.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“SNOW will remain in Early Access until it reaches Open Beta stage. At that point SNOW will be nearly feature complete with all intended content and gameplay available to the users.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version of SNOW will be a more complete experience having player progression, competitive game modes and a fully-featured multiplayer experience.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

SNOW is currently in an Alpha state. This means that many core features are still in development and the game's controls and core gameplay have not been completed. SNOW will be entering Closed Beta in March 2015.

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“When SNOW leaves Early Access and enters Open Beta it will become free-to-play.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“SNOW's community feedback is a key component to SNOW's development. Especially in this early state, understanding what features the community wants in SNOW will shape it's long-term development.”

SNOW Closed Beta, March 2015

We are extremely excited to announce that SNOW will be entering Closed Beta this March!

http://youtu.be/OkyLl6-mYYk
On March 10th, the Closed Beta will be available to Early Access players only. On March 28th, the mountain will be open to everyone else who signs up for the Closed Beta.

Those who have already joined SNOW’s Early Access on Steam don't need to sign up for the Closed Beta and will get automatic access more than two weeks before the rest of the players. We wanted to make sure our Early Access backers are the first people to try out this next major update as a token of our appreciation for all the support they have shown us throughout the earliest stages of SNOW’s development.

We will also reward all players who participate in the Closed Beta with an exclusive Sean Pettit Red Bull helmet. This is the actual custom helmet that freeskier Sean Pettit wears on the mountain and this is the only time to get it. It won’t be available for purchase after the Closed Beta, so sign up to make sure you get yours!

This game used to be good.

But then they had a new engine update and they killed the physics and fun of the game.
Not to mention the fact that they added microtransactions.

Went from awesome to awful pretty quick.

I haven't touched this since I bought it a year ago. then it was,, sort of playable. now it's not playable. I loaded it up was met with a [press any key] screen... no keys or buttons wörked. quit reload. wörks, ok , no controller support??? ,, ok load mountain.. aaand.. it's 1 jump. also nothing happends after the jump.
As far as I can see, this game is trying so hard to look like windows 8, fails, instead tries to be a console game complete with cinematic 30FPS ,, and fails to even support contoller?

My advice is this, If you ever wanted to un-kickstart a project that's developed backwards. this is the game for you.

This game IS NOT SSX.

It's really hard to lock on to the rails, and make a trick on the kickers. But that's the same in real life.
If it's not hard, there's no achievement.

If you just want to play a casual game don't buy this.
If you want to feel that joy when you make a trick you've imagined multiple times, buy it.

I snowboard 100+ days per year, but this game is just great.
I definitly think this game won't be fun if you don't go to the parks in real life.

I heard about this game back in early 2014. I had a couple of friends who told me that I shouldn't dive head first into an ever-progressing early access ski simulator. I believe that I have around 10+ hours already, which I know doesn't seem like a lot, but that's quite a few trips down the slopes in this beautiful game. I also tested some of the boundaries, and I was impressed that there are a plethora of ways to go down the mountain in every location.

Brilliant game and I look forward to its future.
