With only 50 hours in this game, I'll base my review on what I've learned so far.
Loose ship cuz you didn't realize it needed to be stuck to Landing Gear while building
Create weird and complex structures
Die cuz you forgot to recharge energy
Take your first flight, loose the ship cuz you forgot thrusters somewhere
Redesign your ship to get more weird things on.
Make your first LARGE ship
Start dreaming of controlling your own Serenity, Enterprise or an Klingon Battlecruiser.
Play around with Rotors, Pistons, commmand blocks and more to make it even cooler....
Watch the tutorials :D .. The first hour I spend not understanding what to do at all! As the super tech guy I am ( I thought ) .. This was no prob to play. .. untill I actually started it.
Back on the tutorials to get the basic, then on youtube to watch some tips and tricks, and now ... now the game is just awsome.
I'm trying out new ways to build ships, trying my best to make copies of ships like X-Wing, Serenity and more.
Building a space station, and just make it bigger .. more complex way to utilize the station .. just to see where it takes me .. I love every aspect of it.
It does have bugs .. all games do .. This is an Early Alpha .. remember this.
The bugs that are in Creative mode is more as small hickups .. the funny glitch when you mine something, and suddenly you see through the whole asteriode for a second, then return to the mining again .. can be weird, fun and annoying .. all at once :D
In survival mode I've had one bigger issue .. and it was that my miningship sometimes just broke during flight .. or lost a container or reactor .. once I lost 5 thrusters ... but ... even as annoying this is, I recommend NOT using the autosave .. but rather save at your own so you can get back and redo if you crash or loose something due to a glitch.
I have only a few hours in multiplayer, so I will not comment much regarding this. The little I've played have been flawless. I would believe that some of the survival mode glitches might appear in MP survival aswell..
Total freedom in what you want to build, where to go, what to do.
Grahpics are pretty good. Lots and lots better than minecraft.. ( I know .. stop comparing it lol )
Lots and lots of mods to play around with.
You can have a singleplayer survival or creative mode save, and turn it into a LAN/MP world if wanted.
Devs are doing weekly updates, from new items/armor and more, to bugfixes and optmizing.
You get thrown into space, not much help there. ( unless you watch tutorials and youtube )
Glitches and bugs, but this is a part for ALL games...
Unless you KNOW what an item does, there's no helpscreen about the item. ( example: you have rotor, but unless you know what to do, you won't get it to work right... )
But!!! All in all. .. I'm very happy I got this game gifted to me. So far I have enjoyed my 50 hours into the game, an I know I will enjoy atleast the next 100 hours. Unless I have figured out how to use ALL things ingame, I will keep playing and playing.
I've already made a 10 player dedi server for me and my friends to play on :D
Go get it :D
