Reviews

“If you haven’t played Men Of War before, then this is a rich and rewarding place to start. And you really should play something in this series if you have the faintest whiff of interest in RTS, because it is one of the great masterworks. To not play it is to waste your life.”
Rock, Paper, Shotgun

“With a substantial graphical upgrade, a bunch of new units and a fleshed out multiplayer component (as well as skirmishes, finally), every fan is bound to get hours upon hours of fun, visceral and emergent gameplay. In case you haven't had contact with an Assault Squad game and you're an RTS gamer, you will not be disappointed. That's a recommendation right there.”
Mouse N Joypad

“Accidentally discovering something awesome will soon become a four-word summary of my time with Assault Squad 2. [...] I love Assault Squad 2, but it was not an easy romance. Its brutal difficulty spikes and hands-off approach to training should serve as a warning to all but the most grizzled of armchair generals: this game is war, and war is hell.”

More than 1000 hours! That should be enough as a proof of Love.

Pro: very many ways in the editor. Yes builds itself your own small or large Scenario.
With the right mods you have a huge selection of Units: for example: Hungary, Romania, Italy, etc.
Plays orginal faithful models of Tanks.
Uniforms, Faces, Names, Weapons , Sounds, Textures and Inventory and more can be adapted to your own choice.

Make your own maps / mods and upload them.
The community is great and nice. People here like to present you answer every question.
The Workshop will provide you a lot of material like: maps, mods, units

Negative: It eats my life. The Woman screams and wants more time with me. Map/Mission Projecte can end in a lot of work and time.

Check it out yourself in! I highly recommend it !!!

If you have played men of war series this game is for you.

And if you played Soldiers Heroes of World War 2; Face of war or just very similar game like these you will probably like this.

This game is similar to Arma series but everything is in strategy. For example of realism and unreplaylebility once you lose battle in the same load you can load it back and then your squad may survive your enemy attack or maybe even to contra attack after attack. You can win whole game with one soldier if you are ,,very lucky,, (i mean very ... very lucky..)

All explosions, flying parts can hurt or kill your units... Blast waves can throw your soldiers away and knock them out too so me careful in this game!!!

About soldiers/vehicles/buildings:
1.They have inventories (not whole squad i mean all your squad members have their own inventories)
2.All dead bodies, cars can be looted if you need something.
3.All vehicles can be repaired and used for yourself. (Yes you can steal enemy cars, tanks and ect. )
4.All vehicles have their parts, some of them can be very easily destroyable and some of them not. In this game you dont care about health you care about your strategy and luck of avoid enemy shells and bullets...
5.All vehicles can be destroyed and lose their parts. (Parts can flew off to difrent locations)
6.If you loose part i mean its not broken but you totaly lost it... You can you can't glue it and fix it like this.
7.Mostly of buildings can as cover (if its not wooden becouse wood isnt very good protection)
8.Yes you can go in buildings. (you can hide in it and you can do ambushes form it)
9. Buildings can be destroyed and you can make holes in them too.

My verdict about this game:
1) Stay away
2) Only recommended when on sale
3) Recommended
4) Highly recommended
5) This is a must play

Pretty much perfect in every way, one of the best RTS games I've ever played. The attention to detail is amazing.
Shells can pierce multiple armoured targets...
Infantry have multiple hitboxes, able to lose their helmet or even rifle if sent flying by an explosion
Infantry can search other infantrys corpses, taking their weapons, helmets and even bandages (or dynamite from a armoured vehicle)...
Tanks dont have health bars, they have damage modelling, so a panzer IV wont take out a churchill, unlike CoH...
Units are made in favour of realism rather than balance, if it was bad in real life, its bad here...
Surprisingly active multiplayer community...
Great freedom in what your units can physically do, you can send your men into an allys tank if one of his crew died, for example...
You can take control of a single unit/vehicle at any time, controlling how it moves, where it fires, what it does. You can cook a grenade, conduct a charge, take control a single man with a flamethrower, scorching the enemy trenchlines, angle your tank armour so enemy rounds bounce off, aim for weak spots of enemy tanks, etc...
Your tank crew can escape a inoperable vehicle, and blow it up with dynamite to prevent it being stolen, (Or even used in a last ditch effort to take your enemy with you)
You can decrew and steal enemy vehicles, even towing their anti tank guns against them...

If you can think of it, you can probably do it.

This is my first review of any game that I have ever written about on steam. My motivation is simple, I had read a lot of negative reviews concerning this MOWAS 2 and those reviews had kept me from buying the game for about 4 months. I am unsure if the game has been patched since those negative reviews were written but in my opinion they are for the most part very unfair as to the current state of the game. This game is excellent. I would suggest that currently it's an 8.8 game and possibly a 9! There is always room for any game with improvement but the depth of game play in this game is a wargamers dream. I'm an older gamer, really, a lot older. When i was a kid I spent countless hours playing with armies full of toy plastic soldiers. The rts games that have kept me hooked in years gone by are the total war series, blitzkreig, combat mission, and yes even a fun fling with COH with a few good mods to carry it. This game is equal to the very best war RTS thats on the market. In many ways it is superior. The depth of this game may be the reason many dislike it. Perhaps some floks get bogged down with the micro management of the game?? I happen to love and appreciate the options. Graphically the game is excellent, strategically it is almost perfect. Online experinece has not proven to me to be the nightmare other reviews gave it and for the most part has been fun and humiliating as I am on a sharp learning curve, and eating one loss after another... It is still excellent and better than COH. The mods for the game are brilliant and easily available thru steam workshop.( Sir Hinkel's work is brilliant no matter what he produces!) The price of the game currently is a steal at 11$ Canadian for all content included.( 75% off sale) Get this game NOW before Jan. 4th, I do not believe you will be disappointed. Perhaps I'll see you on the battle field and you can add to my pride sucking defeats LOL! Seriously I cannot reccomend this rts war game highly enough. I hope this balances some of the unfair and negative press that players have spammed upon steam.

Much better than Company of Heroes 2.
And it supports Windows 10 perfectly.
