Assetto Corsa features an advanced DirectX 11 graphics engine that recreates an immersive environment, dynamic lighthing and realistic materials and surfaces. The advanced physics engine is being designed to provide a very realistic driving experience, including features and aspects of real cars, never seen on any other racing simulator such as tyre flat spots, heat cycles including graining and blistering, very advanced aerodynamic simulation with active movable aerodynamics parts controlled in real time by telemetry input channels, hybrid systems with kers and energy recovery simulation. Extremely detailed with single player and multiplayer options, exclusive licensed cars reproduced with the best accuracy possible, thanks to the official cooperation of Car Manufacturers.
ASSETTO CORSA has been developed at the KUNOS Simulazioni R&D office, located just inside the international racing circuit of Vallelunga, allowing the team to develop the game with the cooperation of real world racing drivers and racing teams.

The circuits have been developed using Laser scan technology, in order to guarantee the highest level of accuracy possible in reproducing real world motor racing environments.
Monza, Silverstone, Imola, Mugello, Spa, Brands Hatch and many more tracks, including the historical reproduction of Monza, that brings again to life the legendary Sopraelevata, the high-speed oval where races were staged until 1961.

The Assetto Corsa physics engine is all new, using practical knowledge acquired from working closely with the elite of motorsport in order to engineer the best possible accuracy of physics and tactility of feeling.
A physics engine like this begs to be used with officially licensed contents: Abarth, Audi, BMW, Classic Team Lotus, Ferrari, KTM, Lamborghini, Lotus cars, McLaren, Mercedes, Scuderia Glickenhaus, Pagani, Tatuus and many more!

Enjoy ASSETTO CORSA using any kind of game device: keyboard, joypad, joystick, steering wheels including any kind of professional device and the most common motion systems.

Assetto Corsa includes a career mode, a list of special and unique events and challenges, as well as a fully customizable, single player and multiplayer modes featuring quick races, race weekends including free practice session, qualifying session and race. Drag races, drift challenges and much more! Four driving assist profiles (gamer, racer, pro, plus a fully-customizable profile) allow any kind of player to enjoy the simulation at their desired level.
Advanced setup options and telemetry for data analysis; dynamic simulation of the tyre rubber deposited on track, depending on the car laps; an adjustable time of the day mode, featuring sun position calculated in realtime, depending by geographical coordinates of the track and by the sun curve according to time and date, in order to get the same light conditions of the real tracks!

Assetto Corsa will allow for considerable customisation and modification, in order to satisfy the expectations of professional simracers, gamers who prefer to approach the driving experience more progressively, and hobbyists who just like to reproduce and share their cars and tracks, taking advantage of the same editing tools developed and used by the developers of the game.

It's missing some of the most basic features that others have had for over 10 years, Kunos is constantly messing with it, the physics are dreadful, the AI is still too stupid to have a decent race with, the sounds are terrible and require mods to make it sound good, some of the cars are copy pasta (for example, the Mercedes AMG GT3 is just the SLS AMG GT3 underneath), and it has very little base content which requires mods to make it feel like it has some substance to it.

On top of that, Stefano Casillo and teh people who work for him have zero ability to take any kind of criticism, construcive or not, and the fanboys who defend all this crap are some of the most idiotic people I've ever seen.

It's billed as "Your Driving Simulator", but it sure as hell isn't mine. At least the first 3 letters of the title let you know what this game is.

AC has good graphics though.

*honest review*

I have been banned from the steam community for AC because I spoke my mind when I was angry about the prices of DLC and this new 'trend' of releasing games with paid for content.

The game is OK.
Has a lot of bugs.
Lots of modifications can be made from files online.
Lots of hate on the community.
This is probably neck and neck with Project Cars, maybe a little behind.

Assetto Corsa is a good game, after 8 hours of configuring the graphics and tweaking the controls, I was no longer eligible for a refund by the time I realized what it actually was like once I had it set up to my liking. Something other games usually have standard.

I tried getting my 49$ or however much back (December 2014) but as you read above was not elegible. I have 200+ hours on AC so far.

I will not buy any of the additional content. [/spoiler]

I play Assetto Corsa for the mods and fun stuff like Volvo Racing Trucks and Rainbow Road from Mario Cart.

I play Project Cars when I want to 'go for a drive'.

What can I say about this game, from launch it's had amazing car handling physics, I play with a G25 and find the FFB is great straight out of the box, however after tweeking it a little it feels even better, the response you get back through the wheel from the car, what its doing at the front and the rear you can feel it all.

The car models and textures are top notch, Kunos show their passion for this game and motor racing in general with the amount of detail they capture with each vehicle, and are constantly updating even the smallest details to ensure authenticity.

The graphics are amazing with great performance, and just for example, I'm not running this on a beast of a PC by any means, I have an AMD FX 8350 @ 4.5Ghz and an MSI R9 290 Gaming 4G and I have everything on ultra with smoke on normal and get a solid 60 fps with vsynch turned on, without it I average around the 120fps mark, you're results may vary.

The car sounds are so addictive in a way that it should be made illegal, with accurate engine and transmission sounds and exhaust pops and burbling it just adds to the immersion even moreso, and with the most recent Japanese pack and addtion of some iconic turbo charged cars the sounds get even more impressive, take the GT-R Nismo for a spin around the Nordschleife and you'll know what I mean!

That brings me to the tracks, they are simply stunning, with laser scanning technology you feel all the bumps and dips, they are all in the right places and they look great even with little time to take in the views, but the offer great opportunities for some lovely screenshots.

As for gameplay in general, I've had a few races on single player mode but not for quite a while so I can't really comment on the current state of the AI as I've not tested it.
For me this game is all about racing online which is amazing.
Now I'm sure many of you know the issues that plague online public lobbies, the 1st corner pile ups, the rearenders, the rammers who knock you off just becuase they can't pass you, and those who just generally want to ruin it for everyone else, well there are a few tools which combat that.
Firstly there are servers which run a player minorating system to help combat this, simply if you race on one of these servers and race inappropriately your rating will decrease resulting in you being denied entry to servers running this system, great stuff..!
Secondly there is system currently in beta testing but live for public use which arranges races every hour or so which you can register for via an ingame app, attend the race and then afterwards you get a rating and points issued to your profile based on your performance, very similar to another major online only racing simulator, I'm sure you know which one I mean, a quick google and you'll find the details.

Lastly that brings me onto what is possibly the best bit about Assetto Corsa, the community.
It is amazing and in different areas, now just going back to public online racing.
I've been playing racing games on the PC since the mid 90's and I know all too well from when I first ventured online just how bad public online races can be, but within Assetto Corsa even on servers without tools to combat this I've had MANY close clean races with other people, they just simply seem to want to race which is good enough for me.
Mods, mods, mods, there are so many quality mods out there it is amazing what the community continually bring forward for this game, cars, tracks, skins, textures and apps and most of these are of a very high quality with some standouts which are a must have, it adds to the game in so many ways, it is amazing.

I'll also just add a few comments about the DLC, and this is simply going to be that all Dream Packs and the most recent Japanese Pack are amazing value for money, when compared to what other racing game developers are charging for their add on content, what Kunos offer is such great value for money and in my opinion a must have for anyone who is a sim racer and owns Assetto Corsa.

Overall rating for this game 10/10, this is, in my opinion, the best current racing simulator out there..!

Ignore my "time played" stats - I have reinstalled this game again within the last few days and I play offline.

I have played just about every decent PC driving/racing game since Geoff Crammonds GP4 and, until recently, I thought GTR2 was the most enjoyable driving/racing experience. AC is now King of the Simulators (the only game I have not tried is iRacing so that may be more of a simulation but it is too expensive and I play offline).

The moment I fired up AC and took my first drive I knew it was going to be sensational. I prefer the more natural graphics of AC than the hollywood style of PCars and you can not even compare RF2 or any other top tier racing game. I purchased a Thrustmaster T150 and, after some tweaking and advice from the internet regarding setup, I was in virtual heaven. I read comments stating that other users just enjoyed hotlapping and I thought that can't be much fun but it is a joy to choose a car and track combination and spend long hours trying to beat your personal best times. As an offfline player I was concerned about the reported AI behaviour but it clearly beats the manic AI drivers in PCars and is at least as good as R3E AI. Admittedly the AI in RF2 is probably still the best but unfortunately the graphics are not good enough to tempt me to play it for long periods of time.

Excellent graphics (with PP enhancements)
Superb driving physics
Very good AI racing
Superb mod support (tracks, vehicles, sounds, apps, setups, graphics)
Ability to create custom championships

I honestly can't think of any

In summary I have enjoyed this game so much that I deleted my PCars, RF2 (demo) and R3E (another excellent game but requires constant internet connection to play) as well as GTR2, RACE 07 and F1 2012. I could have kept these games on my hard drive but I know that i will be dedicating all of my time to AC so I deleted the other titles.

I do not play online and I am not particularly interested in night driving or even driving in the rain. Assetto Corsa caters for my personal preferrences and concentrates on getting the basics right - the excellent feeling of driving and racing high powered cars in exotic locations. I am 51 years old but I feel like I am rediscovering my passion for sim racing after all these years - buy this game you will not regret it for one minute.

The best racing sim. The wheel feels fairly natural and the game constantly gets better. The community is perpetually adding car and track mods and with Automation, one can design an engine there, and upload it to modded cars here. That is amazing. There is not another game that matches its presence of style. While unfinished, there isn't another game that seems as flawless as this.

Recent improvements are programming for the Occulus Rift, (and probably other Virtual Reality gear, {there is a nice selection of pre-programmed wheel arrangements already}), not to mention the artificial intelligence of the cpu opponents that has evolved to seem more like a real race experience. More camera angles to fit to your gaming setup than before, and in-game apps to improve the gameplay that until utilized, you'd hardly even notice was needed. There is much more done and in the works that I'm surely not remembering.

The only addition I'd want is to have an option to tweak cars like forza or project cars where there are more options to alter the vehicle to suite ones' wishes. That stuff feels a little like fluff though, (other game versions.) Assetto Corsa cars feel more authentic from the start, and some can be modified more than others. The cars seem so distinct from each other by how they drive alone, it makes perfect sence why some cars have been chosen to be in the line-up. More variety is almost always welcome, as long as it doesn't take away from the quality, which isn't lacking here.

Impossible to play coming from Arcade games thinking you won't ever spin out like NFS or Forza, keep dreaming if you think so. You will need dedication, practice, a wheel (for sure, this game is impossible with keyboard or controller), and a decent PC. Mod support on this game is quite good, graphics are pretty, physics are quite realistic, a decent enough selection of cars in the standard game. There's DLC as well if you can't get enough of Assetto Corsa. If you take your time to learn it you will enjoy this game for sure. I'll give my own score allthough I haven't played it a lot and I'm probably the worst driver ever.

7.5/10, would spin out again.

Assetto Corsa is probably one of the best, if not THE best circuit racing simulator out there right now. If you have a good wheel and want to feel like you're actually racing exotic racecars on a track, this game is the best one out there.

-Great Graphics
-Good Variety of cars
-Mod support
-Great community
-Playing Online

-Bad AI
-Buggy (Couldn't play single player for a good month because of a bug)
-Not enough content for the price
-Could be better optimized

I have to leave a review for this game. At first I was so frustrated about how tough it is to drive the cars so I decided to get a refund. For about a day, I did a lot of research to see if there is any other racing games out there worth considering, I ended up considering to buy Project cars or to re-buy assetto corsa. After watching a lot of reviews on YouTube comparing these two games I decided to re-buy assetto corsa, due to the positive reviews, and I absolutely don't regret that now. Yes, it takes patience and yes it requires practice but it's worth it all! After take the Pagani Zonda for a spin on the Spa, I finally understood what the experts are talking about when they speak about treating the car with tough love and drive it like you hate it, cause if you don't, the car will "bite" and you find yourself of the track within seconds
All in all, a very great game, that's absolutely worth recommending!

Very realistic.
Very beautiful.
Active devs.
Great mods.
Many tracks and cars to choose from. Each will take you days to master.

Wheel not required, but you can't really enjoy this one on a keyboard. I tried.
No global leaderboards? What century is this? (Mod available though)

The #1 racing sim in the world. No question.

Assetto Corsa is the best racing title I've played to date. It compelled me to buy a racing wheel and rig, and has opened the doors to Sim Racing for me. I'm not very good yet, but the depth, variety, and rewards have me coming back at least once a week for a taste.

I've spent a lot of time playing Assetto Corsa and it is without a doubt my favorite modern racing sim. There's not a lot I can say that hasn't been said already, but I do want to add that Kunos, the developer, has proved they are very committed to the long-term development of this game. Regular updates and upgrade and DLC packs make this game continually fresh, and the mod support is staggering. There's great sim racing communities around it. It really is a great sim, and I wholeheartedly recommend it.

Best car sim out there. Handling is spot on, and content is accurate. Lots of mods available... this is a driving sim done right.

My only gripe is that there is no weather (rain for example) or night racing. Thankfully the good outweighs this bad ;)

A great all around package, boasting some of the best road cars around, flashy yet crisp graphics, and a very good looking UI compared to the competitors. It's not the top simulation on the market, but it is a great stepping stone for those looking to move beyond simcade games into something more realistic. While playable with a contrroller, you definitely want a full force feedback wheel to get the most out of this one. Below I will go over the pros and cons in a bit more detail:

Pros -the graphics look fantastic, and it isn't too demanding on your PC to get a beautiful looking race environment
- the physics, while not mind blowing, are more than sufficient to provide decent racing, and fun driving, particularly the road cars. Definitely leaps and bounds above what gran Turismo, Forza and PCars are doing in this department
-the car selection is great. While other games have done race cars to death, Assetto Corsa has the best selection of road cars around, from Ferraris to Mustangs and everything in between. It also has race cars, but the road cars really stand out, and with the above average physics and great graphics, it really makes for a truly immersive experience
-the laser scanned tracks are extremely detailed and stunning to look at, really bringing the experience together
-BEST.DRIFTING.ANYWHERE......yes, you can drift here. Yes, it is awesome
-Force feedback isn't the best on the market by any means, but it gives you a good idea of what your car is doing and will help you master the art of controlling it. Still, above average and better than most everything other than GSCE and RFactor 2
-Updates. Kunos is always updating and improving Assetto Corsa, along with releasing more content. We are on Tire Model 7, and have had 3 dlc packs, free content, and have more being relesed all the time. Japan pack today!!!
-The mods. This title has a great modding community behind it, many modders carried over from RFactor, who put out tons of quality content. The mods work great here, and much of the time are indistinguishable from stock content

Cons -The sounds are far from perfect, and a greater range is needed (a bit bland, need to work on the highs and lows for the growls and whines of real cars). UPDATE: The Japan pack is a step in the right direction, and with a high quality set of headphones, they actually have quite decent range
-The AI started off as some of the worst anywhere, slow and stupid. They have since greatly improved, but they still need a good bit of work. Sometimes they are randomly aggressive, but can end up in a train, "racing" single file if your unlucky. It's hard to find a good match for your skill level, 98% I beat them on most tracks, 100% and I rarely see them beyond lap 3
-The online competition. I can't really fault Kunos for this, but while better than the Gran Turismo/Forza crowd, you still do get a lot of noobs and wreckers. I think it's mostly because, as I mentioned before, Assetto Corsa is used as a stepping stone from racing games to true simulations. Maybe I am just spoiled from iRacing and RFactor 2 Leagues, but I am yet to have a race where half the field is still racing by lap 5. It could really do with a skill matching/ranked racing system.

As you see, the pros far outweigh the cons, and Assetto Corsa is a worthy purchase for any sim racer or car afficianado. With a sense of realism foreign to most gamers, it will have you kicking the backend around corners and fighting to gain each second. It still is far from perfect, and I still prefer RFactor 2 physics, and iRacing's competitive racing, but to just hop in a dream car like a Ferrari 458 or Corvette Stingray and tear up the track, Assetto Corsa reigns supreme. And with the constant inprovements, updates and new content being released all the times, who knows what the future of this title holds. A solid 8/10 from me.

Best racing game I've played! I have a Logitech G27 FFB wheel, and it feels amazing! Also has proper triple monitor support at any angle / distance you like with the in game calibration app. Not as pretty lighting / reflections and effects as Project Cars, but it feels and drives more real to me, which I think is most important. The next best racing sim I've played is GTR2, which is also amazing!

The physics, the attention to detail, the graphics, the modding support, the totally customizable UI with drag & drop apps, the amazing Force Feedback and the best Rift experience in my opinion make this game no-brainer to buy.

This game made great improvements from the release,Kunos team literally took care of Assetto Corsa untill today, and they are keeping it updated with new contents, fixes and various improvements.
About the game: yeah it is the best simulator that i ever played, tracks based on real lenght, cars have an optimal physics and the graphics it's pretty good. If you have a good steering wheel (that's a "must have" for a game like that in my opinion) you can feel a perfect sim racing/driving experience without any problems.
The game also allows free mods, like tracks, cars, sweetfx and stuff like these.
That's so.
Enjoy your ride
