Assetto Corsa v1.9 - Porsche Pack 1 and Season Pass available!

Respecting what is now a very long tradition at Kunos Simulazioni, we are glad to introduce as part of our latest DLC a significant update to the overall build of Assetto Corsa. Reaching version 1.9, we welcome another piece of free bonus content, the brand new and recently unveiled Porsche Panamera G2 Turbo, the latest luxury saloon model manufactured by Porsche. As you can see it in the complete changelog below, the update continues the process of bringing general improvements to the core game in all areas, incorporating the precious feedback and suggestions of a community that is becoming larger day after day. One of the most relevant upgrades of this build involves the audio environment, taking advantage of the updating of FMod libraries:

the development team has reworked FMod interaction within the game, optimizing memory and CPU usage and improving the entire sfx engine, resulting in a much better sound environment and immersion.

If you wish to learn more about it, please visit the following URL:

In addition to the plethora of audio updates, other improvements extend to introducing the official Sparco licence with brand new driver suit and glove textures and a reworked texture assignment system, race ending, live Time Table leaderboard in the pits and other additions to the Lap Time board, splits and Anti-Wrecker protection in Multiplayer mode, updating all GT3 cars to tyre model 10, AI improvements and numerous other improvements across the entire game engine, including graphics as well as physics.

Assetto Corsa 1.9 welcomes the first of the three free bonus Porsche cars that will be released within 2016, introducing the Porsche Panamera Turbo, a car that with Porsche test and development driver Lars Kern at the wheel completed a lap around the 20.832-kilometre long Nürburgring Nordschleife in only seven minutes and 39 seconds. The new Porsche Panamera reconciles two contrasting characteristics more than ever before: the performance of a genuine sports car and the comfort of a luxury saloon. It is a Gran Turismo that has been rethought and realigned. The second generation of the Panamera is advancing to become a performance icon of the luxury class.

We are also glad to announce that the historic version of the Silverstone circuit is finally available as free bonus content for all Assetto Corsa users, a remarkable addition that will please all fans of historic content already available in Assetto Corsa. The classic Silverstone is a circuit that perfectly matches some of the new legendary Porsche cars included in the Porsche Pack Vol.1. The 1967 version of the track was used between 1952 and 1974, with the overall layout kept largely unaltered for nearly 38 years. This piece of motorsport history hosted fierce competition between racing heroes such as Graham Hill, Jack Brabham, Jim Clark, Jackie Stewart and Jackie Ickx.

Assetto Corsa 1.9 is available on PC Steam today, and on PS4 and XBox One in November. Please read the changelog to learn more about the overall list of updates.

We kindly inform those who might be interested in purchasing the Season Pass that it is available for purchase.

Those who purchase the Season Pass will receive 3 add-on packs (7 cars each) for a single discounted price. The packs include a total of 21 Porsche unique car models, featuring all of the new 2016 Porsche line-up from both the car maker's production and legendary motorsport departments.

I was a GTR, GTR2, GTR 2 Power and Glory mod, rFactor, rFactor 2 kind of guy. After watching the alpha previews of Assetto Corsa back in the day, I was skeptical about the sim. I had my rFactor 2 pride and was proud to be on rF2. After a considerable number of months later, I picked up Assetto Corsa... I kind of got tired of the slow development of rF2 and wanted to try something different. It took many hours of fine tuning my FFB and learning the good mods from the bad mods. The cars at first seemed so much easier to master than in rF2. After many updates later, Assetto Corsa improved the physics, optimized the graphics, and continued to develop new and different class cars; all of which has enhanced my experience with the sim.

Assetto Corsa is my go to racing sim. The sound can always use some improvement, but overall, the total experience is very pleasing. Furthermore, the modding community is HUGE, and there is always something new to try or fall in love with. Back in the day, the Lambo Miura was a fantastic mod, and then it became a part of the official car list. The mods such as the Mazda 787B continues to impress me, the Virtua Simulazoni cars, the IER cars, the Rally Legend Cars, and all the fantastic tracks make this sim almost priceless.

I have uninstalled all other racing games and now focus solely on Assetto Corsa. If I am not racing, then I am most likely cruising on Lake Louise or Nordschleife in the Miura, Countach, GT40, Shelby Cobra, RUF Yellowbird, and when I want to speed around Tokyo city on the c1 Shuto Expressway I drive the JDM pack cars. There is a little bit of heaven for everyone in Assetto Corsa, just my review...

If you are looking for a racing game like Gran Turismo or Forza, this might not be what you're looking for. If you're looking for automobile simulation software to use with a wheel (and possible a VR headset or triple monitors), this is one of the best options.

Great sim..... dont expect to get it right in the beginning, it will be frustrating. I play in offline mode, but definitely clocked more than 20 hours. Now i bought this a month back and ever since trying to get the mclaren p1 to lap nubergring nordoshleif in less than 7 min...... accomplished thats yesterday..... moral its going to take time, patience and HARDWARE OHHH YEAH!!! No keyboard business here you need a wheel. I bought a dfgt works flawlessly..... now upgeading to a g27 soon. Yeah its an old but great wheel and other options are crazy expensive in india..... not spending 800 usd on a wheel...... all said and done its great once you know the track and the CAR properly yes thats true every car feels different so kudos to kunos. WELL DONE ITALY

Jacko Rating
Assetto Corsa is a brilliant simulation racer with especially good attention to detail and controller/Force Feedback.
Let's breakdown the review into sections;

General - This game provides a dozen different tracks with variations to these as extra tracks along with approx 60 cars depending on what DLC you have bought. Its a real racer with many different settings in order to create the perfect simulation experience for you. Hardcore racers can adjust things so its very difficult and beginers can tweak things down and turn on assists, a plethera of settings here. You have various styles of racing from flag to flag or time trials and a campaign for single players as well as mutli player options and online leaderboards to keep you occupied.
Graphics - Pretty slick but not as polished as perhaps Forza or Project Cars. The details are there it is just not as eye poppoing as some other titles. The tracks are to my knowledge a true to life depiction of the real ones and the cars are faithfully represented here.
Audio - I found the audio to be very good with respect to the engine noises as well as the ambient sounds such as tyre squeels and exhaust backfires etc. Music if you have it on is not bad but who cares when you are racing.
Gameplay - Here is where the game excells and this is the best and the closest thing to real life racing I have ever played. You will feel every bump, indent and parts of the tracks and the cars handle uniquely which means each one is a pleasure to master. The feedback you get is amazing and this game begs for a proper racing wheel although you can still play and win with a controller.
If you like real racing sims and prefer a detailed difficult racing game to a simcade then this game is for you.
Superb, addictive and realistic sums up this pearl of a game.
Race On!

This game is just amazing. The moment you get on the wheel you know everything feels right. I was impressed by Project Cars, had to buy a steering wheel to play it though, unplayable with gamepad. But Assetto Corsa is ages ahead of any street racing game. The tracks really do feel right, they are laser scanned, the cars feel right, the street feels right and it's totally playable with a gamepad too. The game engine graphics is amazing, you can play with really high grapchics and have a constant of 60 FPS. Congratulations to the dev team of Kunos Simulazioni. 10/10.

So now I have 600+ hours in this game I think I have put in more than enough hours to review this game in a fair light, kunos games calls assetto corsa (your racing simulator) and they aren’t wrong there, This is the best racing sim I have ever owned the gameplay is solid the feel of the cars and the FFB on the wheel is amazing.

Now I am a BIG drifting head to be honest most of the hours I have put in the game have been me drifting in the DriftJunkie servers =D so if you want this game for drifting I 1000% think you should get this game. And maybe we can tandem someday, The graphic are nice & sharp in all the right places for a sim… sure the graphics aren’t forza standard but then again we don’t own this game for the graphics we own it for the realism it brings to the table.

Let’s talk content as this is one place where kunos skimped out, assetto corsa has a small number of cars & tracks and even the career is small when you look at most other racing games. There are no leader-boards which feel is a MUST on any racing game. It’s almost like kunos sat down one day at a board meeting and said let’s forget about content we will just let the community build the game for us & they have. All you are is a couple of clicks away for endless tracks, cars & apps, even the community has made its own leader-boards (RSR LiveTiming) in my mind this is the only con this game has. But the endless pros far out way this one con.

Overall I give this game a SOLID 9.5/10 (FULLY RECOMMEND THIS GAME)

I used to think Need for Speed Shift 1 and 2 were real simulators (I was just a teen at that time)... until I got Assetto Corsa. At the time, this was the first game I purchased on Steam that cost more than €20.

This was a really tough game when I first started. But I thought then this game was the most accurate racing simulator I had ever played (some users will argue that's not the case though). So I bought a Logitech G27 so I could stop sucking. And now I do pretty good! I suggest you buy a steering wheel too!

I enjoy every second of the game: getting the feel of the different cars and beating my personal records on Nordschleife is what brings me back to Assetto Corsa again and again.

On the other hand, the graphics aren't that great compared to Project Cars (which I also own), the AI isn't perfect at all and the selection of cars is not huge. But the DLCs really do make up for it! My favorite DLC is definitely the Japanese Pack.

In conclusion: I really do recommend this game for those who want to try out racing simulators!

Ive been simracing for quite a few years untill the F1 & event league i was racing at finally closed. In that time ive came across multiple sims and major mods that had made their impact on the specific sim.
The genre evolved with time and became much more bigger and more popular in eSports.
AC for me is the perfect base for everyone who wants to get a bit more into racing games.
The available Cars & Tracks are making AC a good game to pick up for a car enthusiast, while the in deepth setup possibilities, simulations & physics are making it a full sim.
Its also one of the best looking Sims out there while still beeing less performance eating than pCars.
The Leagues are still growing since a lot of the big and known leagues are still counting on rF1 or their iRacing series.
But i honestly think that AC will become one of the must have Sims for league or eSports SimRacing.

Love this game, it gives me so much. Everytime I`m stressed I start the game make two turns on the Nordschleife and I`m happy again. It also feels so real, it always remembers me on a real trackday on the Nürbugring :-)
A good wheel and a propper chair is recommendet to realy get the feeling that this SIM gives.

Bought it 3 times and refunded 3 times. Every time i installed it had glitches in menu, everywhere buttons without any labels, non responsive UI, game didnt want to start the free practice sessions because there was no button to start! It might be good if it actually worked..

10/10 this is the kind of game that is exactly like dust_ii. Whether you're rushing long A as fast as possible, or trying the tricky corners of rushing lower to mid.

This game is all about speed and rushing, none of that slow play stuff.

Understeer Simulator.

Honestly, all the cars have been set up for people who prefer that driving style. And unless you have a good understanding of how to (re)build a car around your preferences, this game will fit you with something very much outbalanced.

Tracks and car models, however, are nicely done. Sound could use some refinements and so does optimalisation.
