By far the toughest entry in the Trackmania 2 collection of games, but also very rewarding. The smooth drifing of Canyon is long gone. 99% of all braking you do on pavement will be in a straight line, or else your run will almost definitely be ruined. This is something you should know as you go into the game. It's not as easy to pick up and play as Canyon or Stadium

The crazy high speed tracks are still here, but dirt tracks are a fresh addition. A lot of them are actually pretty reasonable tracks, but that's not to say they aren't as much fun. At high speeds, keeping control on these can be a nervewracking experience. Stadium and (to a lesser extent) canyon both offer stretches of dirt, but this is a totally different beast altogether. It's a different game, but it's still ridiculous, it's still fun, and I still want just one more try before bed, mom.

It's difficult, it's unforgiving, it requires pixel-perfect accuracy, it's stressful trying to get the perfect time and I love it.
This time, in grassy green colours and nice, slow pace in comparison to Canyon's, or Sunrise's Island's Mach 2 my-eyes-are-rubbing-against-the-back-of-my-skull absurdness.

well I may only have 11.8h on steam on this game but I can ensure you I have a lot more hours of play on this game, I've been in the beta phases of canyon, shootmania and valley.

I'm a veteran in playing trackmania, I started with the first game ever: TM, next up all games in the series up untill now.

TM² is a really addictive game wich offers you a lot of diversity and creativity.

you can do whatever you want whenever you want, You don't ahve any obligations.

if you like to build maps or to drive maps that's up to you.
even for those who like to code things this game offers a whole sandbox in coding, Moviemaking, Map making, and racing, with a lot of different game modes.

also this is a game with a nice competive scene,

TM has always (as far as I remeber) had a competive part, it is considered as an eSport.

well I hope this will convince some to play the game as pretty much of us do :)

This game most certainly gets a lot of hate, but I feel personally like this is a worthy title for racing fans. However...

This game doesn't run very well AT ALL on lower-end gaming PCs. If you want a Trackmania game and you don't have a great PC, stick with Nations Forever.

Off-roading is much more difficult in this game in comparison to its counterparts. Using a controller rather than arrowkeys is strongly recommended for this particular game.

I have seen Trackmania getting a lot of hate from parents because their kid didn't like it. Trackmania is not the kind of game to just pick up for your kid. This game especially is very difficult at times and can lead to frustrated outbursts. Generally best for very experienced racing gamers or people who don't take anything too seriously.

Many parts of this particular installment seem unrefined and slightly sloppily assembled. Sound and music tend to cut out a lot especially. Custom-made tracks don't seem to have this problem quite as badly, but I would still recommend listening to music from another source while playing this game.

Overall, however, I would say this is a good game. Controls are basic and the gameplay is straightforward. The Vally setting is gorgeous and the track editor is fun to mess around with. Physics are closer to those of Canyon, except with looser steering and slightly more difficult drifting. Takes time to get use to the unique phsysics of this game, especially on the off-road parts, but you will eventually get the hang of it.

Trackmania has always been a unique racing series and really fun to play in my opinion. However, it has always been overshadowed by more mainstream racing games (Need for Speed, Forza, Gran Tursimo, etc.). Trackmania² Valley specifically though is the most realistic of the Trackmania² line, but this doesn't mean it's bad. It still has your insane tricks and high-speed action, but it feels much more sensible from Trackmania² Canyon and Stadium, and in my opinion, more fun. It's much more grippy then Canyon, but still has enough power to easily drift unlike Stadium. It's an arcade game in a nutshell, so if you (for some reason) hate arcades, then you might want to sway from this, but if you want to try something unique, I highly reccomend this. The main attraction I'd say in Valley (and basically all Trackmanias) is its track creator, which makes the game have huge replay value, as well as the community tracks.

Maybe my opinion is coloured by nostalgia but didn't the older trackmania games use to be a lot more fun? The key gameplay mechanic on these games is to retry the tracks repeatedly to find the perfect line through the course and beat set times. This is fun when the cars are easy to control but in this game when driving off road the handling is so twitchy you just have to fight to keep the car on the track and you can't think about improving your line. This increased difficulty means there is a significant number of tracks that I will never be able to play. Even despite that this just features race events and none of the other types of event from previous games. With that in mind the price tag is quite hefty for what you get. In my opinion the pinnacle of the series was Trackmania Sunrise eXtreme but good luck finding a copy of that and getting it to work on Windows 7 so my recommendation is to get Trackmania United, it is much better value. The only positive this has over United is that the graphics are better.

It's a ridiculously fun and ridiculously unrealistic racing game.

Hundreds of kilometres an hour driving on ridiculous and fun tracks. Also, it gets very addictive. Especially if you need to find that 00.00.01 seconds in a lap to get the gold!

Simply put - It's a fun game. There isn’t much not to like if you aren’t expecting a realistic driving simulator.
A fun addition to your game library.

I was playing Trackmania games since Trackmania Sunrise first came out in the United States, which was around 2006. I loved that game so much and Trackmania Valley did the same. Nadeo never seizes to amaze the world with their games. I highly recommend this game to anyone who is new to racing games.

FFS, UBi. Really? So my acceleration bindings have mysteriously disappeared. No problem, right? Just reassign it. Oops. There's bug there. Trying to reassign a key causes the program to crash so hard that only hitting the case power button can get you out (which also obviously causes Windows to shut down).

Head to Steam forums. See a thread where somebody is having issues. Solution is don't rebind keys. There's a bug at the moment. That thread was from February. *Looks at calender* May 31st.

Gee whiz, thanks Ubi. This is why you're so beloved. Thanks for this worthless POS I now own.

Why am I thanking you? You say this wasn't a gift? I paid money for this? Damn, you're right. I guess that makes me an idiot then.

A little disapointed with this game. Have been a fan of TM since way back in the day and this just feels like a ♥♥♥♥ty reboot. Menu layout is annoying and driving mechanics/physics are terrible. The tracks designs dont feel as polished compared to earlier versions of this game. I cant recommend this game, although if you are looking for a mildy entertaining time killer go for it!

I loved trackmania for many years, but with this new mania planet system they've had for a whie, it just frustrates the hell out of me. The amount of stuffing around just to get something done. I just want to join a quick match... gotta wait for mania planet to load.... wanna change my settings ... gotta pay planets, BUT my account isnt validated yet so I cant spend my planets. HOW THE HELL is it not validated?! I'm on steam, I bought it through steam and signed in with my mania planet login ages ago. How many gates of authentication do you bloody need!!!

Theres no quick easy way to get a validation code either, I gotta go digging through all my old emails to find it, OR gotta get a new one sent.

Stuff it. I should have never bought this game. Nadeo's current mania planet system is just added busy work when I just want to quickly and casually play their game. Won't be playing any more.

English:

I would prefer half a thumb up for TrackMania ² Valley, as it is not worth it if you have already played another Trackmania ² (as I Canyon). It differs only in the location (and that is even worse), so I think it's rude of Nadeo that they make it into three gameplay-equal cash investments (I'm obviously an idiot fell for it). However, for those who have still played no part of the series, it is recommended with 5 out of 10. Anyway, I would rather play Canyon: The reason is in the review of that game!

Deutsch:

Unplayable. It's stuck in an infinite loop of updates where the update NEVER takes and the games (all the TrackMania games) are unable to ever be played.
