What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Centration is on Early Access for two main reasons - the first, is so that we can build the game with the players feedback every step of the way - the community is every part of the process of creating Centration and making it an enjoyable gameplay experience as we are. The second is so that you can help financially support the project. We're all working on this part time as we can't afford to work on it full time, so every purchase helps us work on the game a little more.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“As long as it takes to create our perfect experience. We're working as hard as we can to get the game finished as soon as possible, but we refuse to rush, and most of team are working part-time at the moment.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“As the game grows, so will the early access version of Centration. The full version, when finished, will feature all of the features we plan to include in the game and will be a polished product; and until then, all bets are off!

We're dedicated to providing regular updates, and growing the game as quickly and properly as possible.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“At the moment, Centration is in its very early alpha stages, there's not much in way of gameplay and we're fleshing out the basics for every core feature before we move on. We don't want to haphazardly put gameplay into the game only to have it break and have to recreate it later on.

There's very little in terms of gameplay to do with Centration, and we would advise buyers who wish to purchase a game they can play and enjoy to move on and come back in a few months time. At this point, Centration has been in Early Access for quite some time, but progress is still steadily moving, and soon, we hope to have a lot more to show you.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The game will stay at its current pricing structure until release, at which point we will evaluate the worth of the final product and adjust accordingly.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We have two public branches for players to use. The default branch is updated once every month or few months, depending on progress, where we can deliver more stable updates and larger milestones. The development branch however is updated very regularly with new tests and features we're working on as we work on them. We encourage everyone who buys into early access to switch to the Development Branch and help the game grow; by reporting bugs to https://bug.centrationgame.com”

"While we're not prepared ot release any detailed information at this time, we're prepared to say that Centration is most certainly not dead." - Centration Dev Team, February 2014

And then nothing. Forums empty. Steam discussion empty.

Don't give these people any money.

I'll honestly say this about this entire failed project... Seeing as I can't seem to log into the forum I have no other place to vent this (I haven't had access to the official forum for years honestly so I suppose coding a basic website is also beyond this team.) So for the most part, Centration was born from Space Station 13, a wonderful game though lacking in certain areas, (UI, Lots of Lag, ect...) I funded this game and followed it with interest, taking part in failure after failure of "New" builds, all of which added little or no change. To be honest it took a year and a half before there was even a button to go back in menus... It gets better. The actual playable portion of this game consisted of a large metal "base" and characters that looked like "My First Poser Abomination". Still I held out hope that this would all eventual congeal into a real game. And now after two and a half years of following this, the creators admitted they lost half their team and now consist of twelve people...and oh golly gee whiz, if I had that money I'd sure give it back fellas, and some day you'll get free games from us... This was a scam and a ripoff, long story short. The creators should be ashamed of themselves, and I need my head examined for giving them money. So for future reference before you make another game, my sincere recommendation to the persons involved in this project is to actually make sure you have the skills and general ability to code a game, rather than bumbling like a bunch script-kiddies making lackluster doom WADS.

TLDR; move on, nothing but amateurs here.

I had high hopes for this game. I loved Space Station 13. The images I was shown tickled my fancy and I bought into it on Kickstarter. I went into this project as a supporter, thinking "Alright. I'll throw in my lot now, and it'll help support the game and in about a year we'll have a beta test for 3D Space Station 13! Alright! This sounds GREAT!"

It didn't happen. They started fundraiser after fundraiser, feeding on more and more generous donations from people who truly wanted to see this game get made. This was 2013. This is now 2016. I think there was a kickstarter -before- the one that I found, but honestly I don't care enough to look for it. The Kickstarter in question was run in July of 2013. We barely have a walking simulator, in 2016. You can walk around a couple of rooms. There's a couple tables with the props in the program so far. It's like a Dev Room, except a lot less polished. There's no mechanic to the program itself; There's no tech demo. You don't get to see what happens when the room depressurizes by opening it to space because you can't open it to space. You don't get to see what happens when you take off the floor tiles and expose the wires and pipes underneath because they don't exist. Apparently they had an actual team of people. Not a small team of three or four, but a team of 12+ people. I can't confirm that. But even with part time work, a -singular person- can put together more than what is offered here.

I don't normally ask for refunds on things. And even though I know I won't get my money back, I'm putting it here for all to see. I want my money back. Pretty sure I dropped 50 bucks on this damn thing for all the goodies it'd have when it released. It's not getting released. Development has stopped. They took our money, asked for more, and then ran away.

TL;DR? 10/10 Best Scam Simulator.
