About This Game
is a mystery survival horror set around a dark evil known as 'The Being' or 'The Soulrender'. Players must work together to gather a series of mysterious dolls and set the innocent souls within free, whilst attempting to survive the threat that lurks.
This project is still actively in development. When the time comes for those who have donated for the beta, this project will enter an Early Access stage for those to play the game as we continue to work on and improve it.
Faceless has a mysterious and open-for-interpretation story in which four survivors, known as The Wakeland Survivors, attempt find Daniel North. One of the Wakeland Survivors; Edward North, is his brother. He and his friends have joined forces to search for him. After finding evidence of his whereabouts and what he's doing, they go off and attempt to complete his work in Wakeland City. Wakeland City has been closed off under the NHI Act, it is one of four locations in which The Being resides. Dolls are located within these places in Wakeland City: Wakeland Forest, Wakeland Town, Hyde Street Station and Bear Valley Hospital. The Wakeland Survivors must take all these dolls to the ritual zones in each area to ensure their own survival. Optional items can be found to hear clues about Daniel.
Whilst you can play in the Dolls
gamemodes alone, there will also be a single-player Prologue and Epilogue to accompany the story. With the prologue featuring Sam A. Mowry as Elijah Grey
, and the epilogue following Daniel North's last known memories. Due to Faceless originally being designed as a multiplayer only game, it does not feature a full single-player campaign.
A tense and terrifying soundtrack follows the players on their descent into insanity. From the main menu to each pick-up of a doll, the audio design has been built to create a nerve-wracking and unnatural vibe that will put players on edge.
-No gravetalk or free roam spectate: dead players cannot relay information to living ones.
-Players start off completely alone and split from each other. The Being seperated them upon their arrival.
-Voice chat is proximal: players can only communicate within a certain distance.
-One to four player support: die together or die alone.
: The base-game mode in which an amount of dolls need to be collected and dropped off in a Ritual Zone in order to set the dolls alight and "free" the trapped souls from within the dolls. Once all dolls have been collected and burnt, the players will be able to successfully move onto the next area or escape. Players must work as a team to gather (and return) a collection of twisted dolls. As each doll is collected, The Being will become increasingly more difficult to escape in each encounter. This mysterious creature doesn’t just become faster – it’ll attempt to trap you and cut you off from the rest of the group.
: By popular demand: A versus game-mode of the Dolls gamemode, where up to five players can play and one is allocated to play as The Being.
: A gamemode that spans over three maps where you have no objective except to run and survive, at the end of each map is a safe-house to which it transitions over to the next map, the final map will be met with an permanent escape option.
: Inspired by the Trouble in Terrorist Town
game-mode for Garry's Mod
, everybody will look like human-esque figures, and more than four people can play, and one or more will be assigned as The Being. They have to kill as many people as they can without being caught, whilst survivors must attempt to either find an exit, or survive until the end of the round.
Faceless will be sold for £6.99/$9.99/€8.99
