Hm. The software was good, but it's complicated. Nevertheless, it can be improved.

Meh. I suppose it's ok for free, but it's so difficult to come to this from Ableton 9. Very clunky, limited functionality.

Amazing collaborative recording studio, from far the best in its cloud category.

Since I started to record on Ohmstudio, I now feel lonely on other DAW's like Cubase or Logic ...
Fun and creativity guranteed !

PS: I just started to log in from steam but I have an account since almost 2 years there, so my stats won't show a lot of use from steam.

I want to note here and now that I have almost zero experience with audio related software, and as such this review should be viewed as a beginners opinion of the software.

Ohm Studio looks nice, and has a "slick" ui. The biggest issue I have with the ui would be that it can get complicated/ cluttered with stuff pretty fast. Overall though I think Ohm Studio does a good job with its introductory tutorial, and gives you a pretty decent idea of where to "start" using the software. Ohm Studio to me feels more focused on community projects, and the "fun" side of making music, than the "business" side, you will find alot of basic features and fun things to do with open projects that you can work on with strangers/ friends but you will find less "serious" or complicated features that more professional music/ audio tools incorporate.

Overall I like Ohm Studio, and think its a pretty good music software. The fact that its free is also a pretty big positive considering its good enough to charge for. The Majority of the above review is based on my initial opinion, I may be missing something important but overall I think I described Ohm studio accurately. You should give it a try, you may like it. Especially if your "good" at, well, pretty much any musical instrument.

This is a great concept, horrible execution. The interface is clunky, and over complicated. If you wanted to customize a little bit, edit and effect, change some preference, you have to navigate through a maze of inconsistant menus. The menus are terrible, they open up randomly across the screen, some times the tabs are on top, some times they are on the left. Maybe all the tabs are bunch up as a list of buttons at the bottom of the very tall irregular menu.

Moving away from menu design, it has a bad capture rate. It took me about 30 minutes to get my microphone working, and about another 30 to disconnect my mic and plug in my guitar amp. Other software, this change is as simple as swapping the plug on the hardware - nope too simple for Ohm Studio. When you can get it to record, the quality is bad. The audio comes in choppy and unclear. At first I thought I had a hardware problem, but a short recording with audacity proved that wrong.

Again, this is a great concept, share parts of your recordings with others who can finish them. This is a great idea, this just isn't the software to do that with. Unless they do several major updates to basically rebuild the whole thing from scratch, I will not be using it again any time soon.

Long story short, bad menu design, and poor recording quality.

Ohm Studio is by far the best and easiest recording software I've come across for windows so far, not that I've tried them all.

I would highly reccommend this for those who enjoy playing your music with others, as well as for the loners among us.

The only innovating this DAW has is collaberation troug internet. The Free edition hardly has any plugins so creating a song from scratch is impossible. The Pro version has some plugins but nothing worth mentioning.

I cant say I enjoyed using this app. It felt really clunky, and the whole social aspect feels like it really bogs down the functionality. Not impressed.

A bit confusing at first, but a very unique music development software. What makes this special is that you can work on the same songs together with people all over the country. For example, I can record a guitar part and then post it, then somebody can record drums from anywhere in the world and post it over it, then bass, keys, vocals, and so on. You never know what to expect, and there's an in-app chat that lets you talk with musicians anywhere. The community is very helpful, and because of it's endless creativity, i recommend Ohm Studio to musicians of all skill levels.
