About This Game

Every time we wake up on the other side we have a small chance of falling in to never ending dream. Honestly – which side is the true one? We wake up in our beds, but is it possible to remember second awakening?

You remember well what you have done in your dream, what happend, who was there and what was your goal or desire. Yes, but WHEN you have woke up? When you have crossed the barrier? How you have entered that world and why it often ends in some sort of tragedy, that pushes you out? The only thing that left are memories of dream. Shattered memories, Haunted Memories.

Now you have a chance to visit this haunted realm consciously, but you have to be warned. Remember – once entered, can’t be left. To the very end of your sanity, all six episodes of Haunted Memories are going to show you that sometimes darkness leads to light.

"Haunted Memories” series covers following episodes:

Well, I tried this out once when it first was released, and again the other day. each time, I was hoping it would be the kind of game to brag about. I mean, it looks cool and sounds like a great premise for a game, plus the first episode is free, so there really isn't any reason NOT to try it out. However, what I found both times was a lackluster game that left me disappointed.

Basically, you walk around a lot without much of anything going on. When you first start the game, you wake up face down in the dirt, disoriented and lost. You find a car running with nobody there. On the hood is a flashlight and your first clue that not all is right here. You also find a gas can that will be used later. After that, you actually enter the park itself, where you immediately see a shadowy figure through a flash of lightning, which then promptly disappears. You then begin the arduous task of searching the park in hope of finding out why you are there.

Sadly, from that moment on, the game is drudgery when you aren't dying due to stupid physics (such as getting stuck on a rock, jumping off of it, only to have the game tell you that you committed suicide, lol (for which you get a cheevo)) or being killed by the no longer shadowy creature. Dying, as far as I got into the game, means restarting from the beginning.

The graphics are also not top tier. In fact, they bleed together a lot making things indistinct. This may have been intentional on the developers part, but it doesn't really work. Also, where there aren't some lights or flashes of lightning from the storm persisting in the game, it is dark as hell, and your flashlight is probably the crappiest one known to man. I took a couple screenshots that show the same scene with and without the flashlight. The difference isn't notable enough for the flashlight to be worth your time. better to just stumble through the dark without it since it doesn't really light much up anyway, and eventually will die on you as well, lol.

All told, I give this game a 3 out of 10. There is some promise there, but it fails badly. You will want to love the game, but most likely will delete it in disappointment.

If youve never played a Slender game before, you might get a kick out of this. If you arent someone who enjoys walking around aimlessly for hours, trying to figure a game out or looking up a guide, DONT PLAY THIS GAME !!! Would definetly NOT recomend but as it is free, it cant do any harm. Worst case scenario : you find out you absoloutly hate this game and have wasted 2 hours of your life - ( If your already that bored that you played this game for 2 hours before you realized its pretty mediocre then.... You probably wouldnt have done anything better with that time anyway )

Well.... This game. I played, it looked interesting. Then, I jump on a rock, fell out of the world and died. Then I watched tv and slenderman killed me. I dont know why, but me and him have had beef ever since the first slender. That guy.

Also, the torch has the power of a candle in the rain.

10/10 ign.

Best game on steam.

9/11 was an inside job.

Wasted 4 mins of my life on this.
Then went to write to tell others how ♥♥♥♥ it is and received this message;

"You need to have used this product for at least 5 minutes before posting a review for it (4 minutes on record)."

So i had to sit in the menu for a whole 1 min just so i could tell others how ♥♥♥♥ this game is.
I made the ultimate sacrifice;

DON'T PLAY THIS ♥♥♥♥.

Well, to start this I will say that the gameplay is extremely slow and is a re-hashed slender game that isnt as creepy and does a poor job of creating a storyline followable by the player. In my experience of this game, it seems as if the developers were trying to experiment with how dark they could possibly make a game before it wasn't visible to the human eye, and simply added an agravating blue-ish glow so that it wasn't impossible to find the pathways around the map. In addition to this, the animation quality of the slenderman creature is honestly more poor than the original Slender: The Eight Pages which was free as well. To anyone who is reading this I highly recommend looking somewhere else for a good free horror game because this wasn't even fun in the least, let alone creepy or ambient. I know it looks promising in the trailer but I can assure you that this is not worth anyone's time.

Okkeh, so I was looking for Mr. Slender when his ♥♥♥♥♥♥ ass sibling showed up and leik, he smells a lot. so -1

I guess he is supposed to kill you, but since I am super good at games- thats not what happened.. BASICALLY
1. OH LOOK A FENCE *jumps on it*- ded
2. *opens door*- ded
3. OH I AM JUST GONNA WALK DOWN FROM THIS STONE- ded
4. OH LOOK THE MONSTER *tries to hug it*- wait.. no ded?

and the only achievement I got was "suicider"..

I really don't want to waste another minute of my life on this game, but feel the need to write this review and perhaps fritter another couple of them away.
My advice - DON'T INSTALL THIS GAME. The question of why you ever got sucked in will haunt you eternally if you ignore me.

Wasted Potential
Well, the trailer is amazing, the graphics are beautiful... but oh my goodness, that poor, poor dead horse that indie developers keep beating with the Slenderman rehash. I strongly recommend, unless it is core to the game, remove that thing, or change it. It's no longer freaky or scary or entertaining, just obnoxious. It worked once, for a poorly made jump-scare game, but Haunted Memories has so much protential. I'm not recommending this game, but I do hope to see you continue to work on it, replace the Slenderman with something else, and give it a bit more depth than "don't-look-at-the-Slender-monster-or-game-over." How about since you have no way to defend ourselves, we do need to hide, like a stealth game? A single, devastating monster that we need to avoid, roaming the game is not a bad idea, it is just so difficult to see past the fact that your primary monster is Slenderman, and the threat to the player character is merely looking at it.

This is my very first bad review on steam.
I never gave a bad review because i liked all the games i played so far, but this one... i dont think so.

I really wanted to like this game, i really REALLY did! it looked like it could have been a really great horror game. It had so much potential!

But it just didnt turn out to be the good horror game that it looked it.

There were too many glitches, i couldnt progress through the game, it was dark and the flashlight didnt help because it was so crappy, the storyline was crappy because i had no idea what was going on, i did not wanted to see slenderman in this type of game because i wanted something else chasing me, and also episode 2 is out but you cant download it and there has been no signs of them working on the other episodes, and it was very laggy for my computer.

This game turned out to be crappy, if you dont mind wandering around in a glitchy world for endless hours then go right ahead, but me...im gonna uninstall this game!

There were some postive stuff in the game (not much though)
The graphics were good....yes thats it just the graphics...nothing else postive about this game!

Now if you excuse me, i have a game to uninstall >:)

Really incredibly boring game. I played a few minutes and saw the antagonist of the game and was not impressed. Later, when the monster transformed I just beat the crap out of it with a crowbar. Spent a few more minutes following the breadcrumb trail of clues and found myself wondering who made such a crap horror game. Very cliche slenderman-like creature and the atmoshpere is so poorly done. 1/10

After trying out "Cry of Fear", another horror fps mod, I was extremely dissapointed by this game. While I know it's free and all that, this game is completely unplayable. The game looks like you're drunk or something the entire time because the screen is ridiculously blurry and keeps shifting around. The controller support is awful, and the gameplay was a little spooky (not much) but what was there died after I wandered around for like a half hour just trying to figure out what to do and being 100% clueless. After that I just gave up and deleted it off of my computer.

+ Atmosphere is awesome, on edge following feeling.
+ Surprisingly good graphics and smoothness while play, no lag.
+ Large playable area with lots of place to explore.

-No clear objective (would confuse some)
-Slenderman is already following you from start (died 3 minutes in while looking around car)
-Brightness of the flashlight makes it hard to read signs and reduces' visibility when against a wall.

Overall: 8.

This was a great game, staying true to the horror placing taking after Slender (Parsec). Really liked the graphics and bloom/shadowing.

Keep up the excellent work.

Spelling errors should immediately point out the lack of care taken to ensure quality.

I have to say that i found this title to be a fresh take on horror crawler games. From the visual effects to the physics of the game to the FEEL of the game play. Nicely done. Not sure how this game got so many bad reviews but i believe it might have something to do with people not wanting a game that is a divergence from the norm. I look for the different and outlandish. I love this game and look for more from this publisher. Although it takes a comp with some highend hardware to fully appreciate the game it was worth the extra $$$ to get this gem running.
