Equip your ride with 5 different tuning specs (street, perf, dirt, raid, circuit) to adapt to different driving terrains. Choose from a wide range of perks to enhance your vehicle according to your driving style.

Continue the experience on iOS, Android tablets, and on the web. Track of your friends’ performance and fine tune your ride before taking it live to set new records, or send your crew on jobs while on-the-go to earn more XP and parts.

Appearently I have written too much, please click HERE or HERE(doc) for the full review

There is a summary at the end if you are too busy to see through the whole review.
And just a kindly reminder, there is no R-35 in the game yet.

Hate to say it, but if you are not a big fan of a free-roam racing game, don't buy it at this moment
Although I am not recommending this game, this doesn't mean I am 100% oppose this game, as you see I have thrown more than 100 hours in it

The Crew was a good game for people to driving around the states, it still is, but with tons of flaws atm.
Still, I should start on the good things frist as some of you may still interested in the game.

At first, It has a biggest map for a racing game I ever saw, even I have spent more then 100 hours in the game, I still have about 1/4 to 1/5 of the map is undiscovered.
If you only drive to explorer the map and not doing missions, it should take you at least 12 hours, as you can drive 3-4 hours in a starting car just driving a lap of the border.

The game also provide various terrain and enviroment, with landmarks for players to enjoy and explorer freely.
In some of the story mission, it will even provide some enviroment effect like fireworks or plane flying over your head which is quite stunning when you see it first time.

There are 5 specs for cars: Street, Dirt, Perf, Raid, Circuit
For Street, Dirt and Perf, there are parts to let you to customize the cars, like front bumper, hood, rear wing, etc.
Just be aware not all the car have all 5 spec.
The interior of the cars are quite detail and you are able to customize the color of it in most of the cars.

There are also different activity like skill challenge or limited period mission that may keep you playing.

Bad things
First of all, lack of cars, there are only 40+5(wreck) cars if you are not buying the season pass, also, there are no Audi, Toyota, Subaru, Mitsubishi, Honda, Hyundai, Vovle, VolksWagen and more.
And for each brands there are only 1-2 cars.

The handling are not realistic like GT series,it is acceptable but you may feel strange for the first few hours.

The things that can be driving through are also uncertain, you can drive through some fences in cities, and bounce off with others.

There are no technical tuning in this game, like suspension modification, angle of tires, etc.
The only thing you get is upgrading the equipment directly.

There is no rear mirror view when you are in interior mode

The mechanism of automatic transmission is flawed
In this game, as long as your speed are not droppping, it will not help you to shift to the lower the gear.
Which mean the system will keep you in 4th gear when you can actually can have a 5-8mph/s acceleration with 3rd gear, only thing you can do is release the accelerator to let the speed drop.

The difficulty of this game is very hard in different aspect and it is not adjustable.
First, the Rival AI's car can be insanely fast, they will not slow down by enviroment unless crash.
For some casual driver with the staring cars, it is very hard for them to catch up.
And with the auto catch-up system, even if you are good at driving and lead the whole race, you make one mistake and you will be overtake then lose.

You can invite other players to the mission to try to decrease the difficulty
But the problem is you will need to wait for the game to connect to a random session before you can invite players you don't know
And with a maximun 8 people session, there is very hard to find one who actually willing to play with you

About the police chase, first, the police is as fast as rival AI's car in missions.
They have a circle rader around them instead of a cone vision which should be able to block by buildings
The police heli can see through the tunnles
Most ridiculously is that if you go too far from the police cars, the police car can spawn anywhere near you, and sometime in front of you
This make you need to maintain a approximate distance that their rader cannot catch you but no police car will spawn
To escape it should be always as fast as possible, I don't know why they need to make this system so counterintuitive

There is some perk in the game which can actaully increase the handling, acceleration, speed, etc. in the game
Which mean even qith a same car, a LV50 player still have a big advantage compare to a LV1 player, if the LV1 player havn't bought any perk points using credit which can be obtain by paying real money.

Car level nearly mean everything, espically when doing story missions with others.
With my 1200 lv cars, I always outrun the guy who invited me to the coop mission in his/her first time attempt.
In my experience, the higher lv car you have, the higher position you will get in PVP.
And to get a car over 1000lv, you will first have to reach 50 lv at your charater
Which mean you will have a big disadvantage before you reach 50 lv

In this game there is a faction war system but meaningless

The stablity of the session can be very unstable
When you are in a crew, you select a mission and invite you crewmate, you can end up with your crew member playing the mission themselves and you get a forever loading screen
Similar things happend when you select public PVP lobby, you will be the only one who get into the lobby and your crewmate will continue finding a lobby.
Sometimes you crew member will not appear in your screen even when you are beside of him/her.

PVP sessions also contain connection problems
Sometimes when other player in your session have a unstable connection, the game will pause for 5 seconds
when the player have a really bad connection, you game can have more than 10 times pauses, which is extremely annoying
sometimes you can also getting left behind at the starting line when people already racing in front of you with about a hundred yards away

This is a nice racing game, and for some people it is still a masterpiece
but it is also nearly the worst racing online game ever, don't even know why they make the MMO feature as a selling point
The slogan of this game is "Never Drive Alone", but for me it is like "Never Drive Alone If You Want To Suffer"

Huge map for exploration
Many customization for some cars in some spec
Detail and customizable interior
Beautiful and various enviroment
Enviroment effects in story missions
Different activities that keep you playing

Lack of cars
No technical tuning
Handling/Physics are not realistic
Flaws in automatic transmission
No rear mirror
Difficulty is overall high and not adjustable
AI cars will not slow down by enviroment
Maximum 8 people session make players hard to crew up
Police chasing system is stupid and annoying
Perk system can provide unbalenced adventages
LV of cars nearly mean everything
Faction War system is totally unfair
Forced online with the server is unstable
Game statistics can be messed up by the game/server
Unstable connection among friends/crew member and to the sessions
PVP connection problem
Bad avatar system
Various Bugs

Too much uncertainty on the road

Recommend to buy it if you
Love free rome style racing game
Have friends to play together and can tolerate to any possible fail from the server
Love customize your cars and show off

Not Recommend to buy it if you
Cares more about realism of racing
Are a casual driver and consider this game as a single player racing game
Don't want to use tons of times to climb the ladder (Cars LV, PVP, Faction)
Want to drive cars that doesn't exsit in the game (find the list on the internet)
Want to race on 1:1 scale curcuit
Have a bad connection

I had high hopes for this game, I played the betas, followed the forums and pre-ordered it. Then I forced myself to like it and play it even after I was completely frustrated by everything I'm about to say.

Before the ugly : THE CREW is not a complete mess, there is the possibility of having a great amount of fun playing this game depending on what kinda of player you are. One thing it gets right is the map diversion. Every spot, every city or zone as they say, has it's own feeling and design, it's unique, and driving around the map with a friend is sure entertaining. but that's it. if you're not the person who enjoys cross country trips or american cars, there is not much for you here.

Entitled as "MMO CAR-PG" but you can't develop your character, not a single aspect. In theory, every player has the same exact character, solution? Let's hide other player's driver. and that's it. Let's say you play against remote controlled cars, for immersion's sake. you CAN'T call it an mmo, without character development, the best you'll get are perks, nothing really groundbreaking. but we have cars, don't we?

There are 30~40 cars and all of them seem unfinished, except for the first ones. because you know, "first impressions are always the most important". the first five cars have all the specs available, street, dirt, performance, raid and circuit. other cars usually have 2~3 specs only. so you wanna go crazy off road with that expensive car? too bad. also, most cars are American, so no luxury here. what's most stupid is the unbalanced performance cars have, the starter vehicles run faster then the most expensive car in the game.

But driving gets better as your car and player level increases, right? No. That's an excuse for the handling in the game. It doesn't get better. I have 1299 ( Max level ) cars and with assistance off, they just don't grip on the road as the default low level mustang does. With assistance on, it's just "drifting". The crew should have stayed as a street racing game only, the street tracks are okay, the handling on street is OK. but when it goes off-road becomes soap ( and not in a good 'Dirt game' way of soap ), on circuit the game just doesn't have enough decent physics to feel solid, and while climbing mountains with raid spec... I wish you good luck trying not to roll 900º in the air after hitting that small rock. this game is unpredictable thanks to it's physics, you never know how is your car going to react to crashes so expect for the worst and try avoiding collisions. worth adding : some elements break, some doesn't, and in this game this is not okay because when someone tries to cut their way trough some houses, the fences breaks. When you're doing the turn on a corner, well, the fence it very likely to be the most solid virtual object you'll ever find.

Progression is BROKEN, I had to try various missions at least three times due to disconnects that WIPED my progress, my statistics are currently like this " main missions complete : 167% ", and the rewards are ridiculously unbalanced. Let me explain this : I leveled from 1 to 50 in ONE DAY AND A HALF doing no more than 60 PvP matches, 10 or so story missions and some exploration. Yes, I reached maxed level on an MMO in basically a day. It gets better, I was being rewarded 16k bucks every time I finished first on a PvP match, and when you are disqualified because you couldn't get to the finish line in time, well, TAKE THESE 16K BUCKS ANYWAY. You just know they didn't really put any thought into the game's progression when all it takes from level 49 to 50 is 2 races in 10 minutes.

The customization feels incomplete, some categories are there with no parts to purchase for you car, get used to the "No part available in this category" message. the stickers are single color only and there isn't variety among those, expect to see everyone using the same 2 flame stickers or racing stripes. the real car performance parts are available with a grind of challenges after level 50 which is not very cool given the insane difficulty of some challenges, but don't worry, it doesn't matter how fast your car is...
AI CHEATS, it goes off track and spawns in front of you, It rams you constantly and the Catch-up is ridiculous. there are some gifs on Polygon's review of the crew if your interested.

The story is not good, you bounce trough one generic dialog to the next and I couldn't connect to any character of this game, I couldn't care less to be honest and not skipping cutscenes was a challenge at times. At the end of the main story you are rewarded with a mix of every CGI they made for the game, which felt very very lazy.

And I could go on, there is the server instability problem, the always online "DRM", the NAT problem that causes online atrocities, the lack of mirrors promised by launch, no weather system, the "crew joining different lobbies" bug, the "Hitting someone back at 20mp/h and flying like when hit by a giant on skyrim" bug, the "I regret the money I spent buying this game" case and the first time I actually emailed steam support to ask about their refund policy.

I'm frustrated. I just wish I could go back to those TDU2 Times.

+ Every area is unique and has it's own feeling.
+ Driving with friends can be fun

- A 2014 Racing game Lacking mirrors, promised by launch
- Server instability, constant disconnections
- Progress Wipes
- Incomplete customization
- Not a great amount of cars
- Unbalanced car performances

- Broken statistics system

- Buggy respawns
- Only 7 players on Screen

After nearly 40 hours of playing this, I have finally come to a decision about rating.
For. ♥♥♥♥s. Sake. Don't buy it if you're looking for a quality racing game.

Racing-MMO: Announced as an MMO Game. A single Session can only hold 8 Players. ALSO: Uses NAT-Connection system. A player who is not in your region won't be able to join your session. The Crew (Steam Worldwide)? ♥♥♥♥ off.

CARS: This game holds a breathtaking amount of 27 cars. And they are not even available in every spec. Test Drive Unlimited 2 had 130, for comparison. They also handle next to nothing realistic. Muscle cars have better grip than a BMW. RWD, FWD or AWD? No difference either.

ENVIRONMENT: Pretty neat. Animals. People. Cannot be touched but still a nice additon (That's Ubisoft Reflections for you there --> Driver:SF). The Map is huge and even after 40 hours of normal play time you wont even have it explored half-way. Environment is a huge plus here. Very good. 7.8/10 because there's too much undetailed water.

TUNING: Well, yes. Kind of. Better than Rivals. Worse than Most Wanted 2005. It's not bad compared to other recent racing games and you can tune your car just enough to be "individual". Severe Lack of stickers.

AI and Police: THE RUBBERBANDING IS REAL. Ivory Tower SERIOUSLY managed to make a rubberbanding system 1299 times WORSE than EA. It doesn't matter if it's a Crown Vic, F-150 or Corvette. Cop cars have astonishing speeds of up to 250mph (400kmh), weigh about 30 metric tons and can seemingly drive through traffic, other cop cars, YOU if they want to, and can make object in their way such as fences merely DISINTEGRATE. Also, if you're too far away, they just fly to you. Really ♥♥♥♥ing neat. It's impossible to outrun a bunch of Lexus Sedans with a high-end Ford GT. The cops either keep up with you for 20 minutes straight or magically stop chasing you after 10 seconds. Sometimes they jump. Sometimes they fall through the ground. But most importantly, a CROWN VICTORIA can just BRAKE and STOP in front of a HUMMER H1 WITHOUT TAKING DAMAGE AND SUCCESSFULLY STOPPING THE 4 TONS HAMMER IN UNDER A SECOND. Oh, and the cops bust you in like 3 seconds. If you're under 30mph, you're busted.

In-Game-Money: Not enough. There's just not enough. Everything is overpriced, the game is almost dragging you towards its microtransactions. 40000 Crew Credits for 6$. You're not even able to buy a car with these 6$. 40000 is nothing. You can buy 4 good vinyls with that. Stickers.

Connectivity: As I mentioned before, terrible. NAT-based. Lag Simulator 2014.

Servers: Ubisoft.

Graphics: Meh. Acceptable. Textures not too great, and I'm not talking about the world. Your characters jacket looks like it's from Just Cause 2. No mirror reflections in first person mode. Alternate graphics in first person mode, increasing SSAO. Could cause frame drop on older graphics cards. Framerate absolutely awful and completely unjustified. Distant textures --> Assassins Creed: Unity. Texture filtering? Not really.

This game is unfinished. Additional updated content that was PROMISED but didnt COME, COMES ONLY for Season Pass owners. What the actual ♥♥♥♥?

IGNs 6/10 is completely justified.
Polygons 4.5/10 is still justified.
My rating below based on my listed points in this review:

MMO-Aspects: 4/10
Cars: 6/10
Environment: 9/10
Tuning: 6/10
AI and Police: 2/10
Online Features: 3/10
Graphics: 6/10
Overall: 5.1/10

This game is in the Top 3 Worst Releases Of 2014 in my opinion.
Hint: They are all Ubisoft.
Goodnight, I've wasted enough time with this garbage.

So, in a "too long, didn't read" kind of format, I'd say this game is not the BEST, but it definitely isn't the WORST. I'd give it a solid 7/10 just based on the fact that it has a very addicting leveling system (one that doesn't last long enough sadly) and a very beautiful open world to drive around in. I'd highly suggest this game only if you have friends to play and screw around with. It just isn't the same alone.

So, here we go.
I can see alot bad recommendations about it, but in my opinion its a great game. Lets start with a big map, i dont have seen so big map without loading points before, map is minilized version of real life Michigan, New York, Florida and California. There are also alot of cars with awesome classes and tuning, from stock to circuit, 5 classes in total. There are cars, pickup trucks and so on. (Season pass gives even more) Map is quite living, with citizens walking in cities and animals living in wild, trains move, aircraft, alot of traffic vehicles, emergency vehicles on duty and so on. Story is quite interesting, but little, but after finishing it, there are also alot of skills to do... and then awards (Each class of awards done gives you special nr plate). There are also landmarks, what locate an historical building or place with quick review of it from real life, i really liked to do these. (242 on total) Cars have standalone levels to 1299, you unlock parts doing missions or skills, and then there is player level, up to 50. Snow mountains, where it gives your car more slippery, and fun to drift... also alot of racetracks and interesting places from real life US states, Salt lake drag strip and so on... Cop chases are quite hard. Also each state has its own 20 car wrecks to collect, to get an hidden car for free.
So... bad things about this game, you might meet some players in your session at each state.
Crew invitation is still glitching around sometime, wont let somebody join... and PVP takes forever load, so... basically you drive alone... also friends i have in uplay, i never dont have seen them in my session, if only joined my crew.
8 / 10.

The Crew is a beautiful playground of speed and precision, incredibly fun ande very new car is a learning curve.

Pretty interesting storyline
Specs are always fun to change to and thro
Great fun when you start a Crew with your mates
Police A.I. are very smart but not intensly hard to get away from
Opponent A.I. is also very smart and sometimes make crashes that a normal human would do
Customization is amazing
Car selection is unique
Skills are fun to compete in
Faction missions are a great way to pass time
Great PvP system

Sometimes hard to see your friends when you join their session
Few glitches here and there, NOT HARDLY as bad as Unity or Far Cry 3

Counter arguments:
"Auto catch-up" It is true that this is done by A.I. and Police however without it the game would be incredibly easy and it is not as bad as it is in NFS
"Micro-Transactions" These are optional and there are no parts you can't get without Micro-Transaction, all parts can be bought with "Bucks"
"Customization isn't as good as Underground 2" Well boo hoo you found a game with better customization so you can use it in your review, I guess every other Racing Arcade is terrible if it doesn't have the customization of Underground 2
"Cars handle like soap" The Crew does bring a new handling feel to your library of games but they do this so it is different to your general simulation game, they want you to learn the handling and perfect so it can give you an advantage over players so it's not the case of "Better car, Better driver"
"Can't play offline" It's a MMO, shut the ♥♥♥♥ up
"Uplay" Uplay isn't as bad as Origin and all you need to do is boot up Uplay to open The Crew, infact it's probably better on Uplay as you can use "Units" to get in game items, all you have to do to get "Units" is unclok achievments!

Ignore the haters, they're just angry with Ubisoft for Watch Dogs, The Crew isn't nearly as glitchy as Ubisofts current failures and continues to be a great and fun game.

I give it a 8.9 out of 10.

So...... you like to drive huh?

Thats what this game has to offer. Its truly not some entirely new racing experience. Its midnight club, burnout, need for speed, all rolled into a new game, The Crew.

Many people have criticized this game for its sub-par graphics, arcade like driving/physics, and it not being a true "MMO". And while that may be true in many cases, you also must take into account for the scale of this game. No other game truly allows you to drive from Miami to LA in one sitting all the while seeing every different biome along the way. It's fulfilling to be able to go from a small town, to the mountains, to main roads, and then to main cities.

I will admit that this game is far from completely polished but that does not mean its fun and enjoyable. I have around 50 hours right now and while around 25 of that was the main story, the rest has been me farming the skill missions and overall, trying to explore the massive world of The Crew.

So in the end, yes you might not be getting a perfect game, but its still one to remember, and it will continue to get better with patches, dlcs, etc etc.

The Crew is one of those racing games that you just have to play even if it has Ubisoft's name on it. Let's get all of the BS rumors out of the way by saying UBISOFT DID NOT DEVELOP THIS GAME!!!! Ivory Tower developed this game with the ability of having 60 FPS at the start and yes it does have micro transactions but earning in-game cash is super easy. This game isn't tanted with Ubisoft's bad pc port mojo. This is a super stable game and I occasionaly experience a crash once or twice a day.

So gameplay, how is it? Well the gameplay is well how any Need for Speed from Underground 2 through Carbon but with a twist. This game has RPG elements thats similar to Need for Speed World but is not purposly asking you to empty your wallets into a pay wall. It is open world and the world is really huge. It is close to 50 in-game miles and it will take you a long time to get you there. You have a level (50 is a max) in which you level up by doing story missions (yes it has a story), skill challenges, PvP events, and faction missions. The story missions is what it is labeled as, missions that's part of the story. The skill challenges offer a way to gain car parts (more on that later) and get some experience for doing it. There is also a leaderboard so you can compete against a person's ghost and see if you can get to the top of the leaderboard. PvP events are what it is labeled. You go against other players and you can choose to fight for your faction or just free-for-all. Faction missions are where you get a lot of money, faction experience in which that adds everyday you login, and some chunk of experience. They also have one hour long races and one that goes up to 4 hours

What are these car parts you mentioned above? Well those car parts give your car a level as well ranging from 0-1299. The car parts consist of a motorcore, air system, diff, tires, weight reduction, and more. There are five classes of cars and each car class is different to each other: There is Street, Dirt, Performance, Raid, and Circuit. Street is your step above stock. Dirt is something you would see from a World Rally Championship. Performance is your step above Street but is almost stripped out. Raid is something you see from the Dakar Rally and yes they have trophy trucks. Circuit is something you see from Grand Touring ot 24 Hour Le Mons racing. The car is completely stripped down with weight saving and high performance in mind with the ability to take corners.

Well since this is a driving game, how are the physics? The physics can be odd but if you work around them, you can win a lot of the races. Drafting is a thing so use it when you can. The cars will tend to bounce off of things like bumper cars and it focuses a little on drifting.

Hows the car customization? It is what you would expect from a Need for Speed Most Wanted and Carbon game. You can customize the interior with your choices of aluminum, carbon fiber, mixed aluminum, and mixed carbon fiber. You cannot place stickers anywhere you want to though. They have presets which look cool IMO.

Car selection? How big is it? Well IMO it is small but it will slowly expand with DLC. The car list consists of 58 total cars but at least they have trucks.

Final thoughts? Well I am enjoying the game. I am enjoying every bit of time I have put into the game. I would recommend everyone getting the Season Pass since they are going to add more cars. January 2015 is going to be their first DLC which should be an interesting one. I did wish they have given us the ability to move around the stickers rather than give us presets and working mirrors in the cockpit (yes a working cockpit). This game I believe will set a new standard on the illegal arcade street racing genre that was leaving a sour taste in my mouth because of the way Need for Speed has been going and from the look of things, it isnt going to get any better. You just have to play this game to know what I feel about this game. I have been dying to play a game thats open world with similar car customization as Need for Speed Most Wanted and Carbon but isn't trying to make your wallets screem and this is the answer my friends.

Jacko Rating
The Crew is the first MMO to do something different and use cars and driving instead of the usual aray of fantasy characters.
It is an enjoyable mix of arcade/sim style racing with the added online benefits - namely being able to join and crew up with as many as 7 of your mates to race and cruise all over the USA.
Strengths are definately the enjoyment you get out of messing about with your friends whilst in your hotted up car, the graphics are good for next gen but for the PC it could be better, 60 FPS on PC runs smooth enough, the sound effects from the cars are nice and beefy and last but not least the size of the map and drivable area is absolutely massive.
The weaknesses are - its gets a bit laggy from time to time, there are not nearly enough visable players online making it not really feel like a MMO (at least not yet), not enough races on offer and the button mapping system is frustraiting when trying to really customize it.
The final verdict after 42 hours of playing time is despite its flaws it is an addictive driving game especially when cruising around with mates but no substitute for a real racer (wait for Project Cars). This is well worth your money if you intend to play with friends online and like a massive map of the USA to drive around but if you want a hardcore racer to post times and compete against mates then this will only annoy you.
Pretty Good Game but could have been much better.

Overall, the game is fun but it is pretty basic. The story is nothing new but it's nice to have one that isn't crap. The amount of cars is almost embarrasing(at around 35-45) and the "specs" don't count as new cars like they want you to think. The sound of the cars are alright but the radio is absolute crap, better off turning it off and making an itunes or youtube playlist of actual good songs. The graphics are alright but pretty bad for how it runs(not too bad for an ubisoft title, if you play far cry 4 on low at 1080p 30fps, you will most likely play on medium at 1080p 25fps in high vegitation, detailed areas, 45 in cities with a good traffic flow, and 60 in bland, emptyish areas). In the end, the story is bland but decent, the cars are good in general, the graphics are disappointing but not as bad as most games(*cough*watchdogs).

In short -

9/10 the other 1 is uplay.

In long -

I grew up with racing since 2002 need for speed, burnout, midnight club and other racing titles. This game is great open world, cars, customization, huge US map, online with friends and other small pieces which puts together this great racing title. There are a few hicups of course such as not able to see players on the map or can't invite friends to the crew, i fixed this by port fowarding 3000 and 3001 ports and it works beautifully. i can get 8 players in my game, find PVP matches, invite friends into the crew easily and flawlessly. There are specs, liveries, rims and other customization missing but according to the devs at Ivory Tower they're still under devolepment and wouldn't wanna rush things. Fine i'm alright since there's so much to do already, you can tell by my gameplay hours. I played the whole story missions until the end solo because I was to lazy to port forward and it wasn't boring 1 bit.

- Great variety of cars but not as many ( Not an issue for me )
- Huge US map to explore
- Faction missions and clans
- Customization is superb
- Lots and lots of things to do like really..
- Not the greatest story but its good that it makes you wanna progress through the story and explore the map of US

- Players having issues to connect to friends crew or PVP matches ( I easily solved it by port fowarding )

P.S. - I can't really find anything bad about this game, honestly. It's a awesome racing title 9/10

Many people asked me about this game , in my opinion , The crew is wonderful game. There are some advantages and disadvantages , there are a lot of cars, big world and great multiplayer. But on the other hand there are short story. This game was made for good multiplayer. The crew is better than NFS WORLD and , I think, if you like races , you should try to play in this game. :)

After 180hrs of gameplay and 4-5hrs of waiting till maintenance end, gonna say that this game is definetely worth playing. Id also say that it is the best racing game in years imo. There are still annoying bugs left, 1 month after release, like achievements that do not trigger completed, constantly resetting odometer and couple more, but i have a hope that this will be fixed soon.
See you on the road, driver.

3 major problems they need to fix, which without them makes the game unless

1) Xbox 360 controller support is ♥♥♥♥

I had to custom map all of the buttons on my wired xbox 360 controller to be able to use it, since it doesnt recognize the controler itself.. and since it doesnt recognize it, the steering is VERY touchy. very close to being unplayable

2) Uplay connectivity ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

Feel like playing for more than a 30 minute session? to bad! you will lose connection to the Uplay server every 30 minutes, if you are lucky to survive a 15 minute session

3) Game crash galore

Did you accidently pull the cord on your controller, then bye bye The Crew, because it causes the came to crash. which makes complete sense (sarcasm)

If they fix the bugs, then sure. its a nice game. Until then, i want my $60 back.

I pre-ordered the gold edition of this game back in november and I was really looking forward to this, because of all the stuff that they promissed in the trailers... and maybe I was just naive to believe them.

I will start with the bad things, because they are the most important.
first thing first, before the game released they where talking alot about customization and how you could make your car look different from the others, they told about both car parts and a "proper vinyl editor", so I was really disappointed then I started the game for the first time, to find out that there was no such thing as a proper vinyl editor, the only vinyls (or "stickers" as they call them in the game) was some different once made by the devs and you cant even change the color on them.
I'm so disappointed about all this talk, about customization and then you cant do s**t then you enter the game and its not just the vinyl editor that is missing, there isnt that many car parts either and some cars cant even get car parts.
its sick that need for speed underground 2, have a more advanced customization system than this game and I know that this isnt need for speed, but that a game from 2004 is better at that point, is insane.

after all that, there is still a bad thing or two, then I finally manage to get into a pvp lobby about a week after release, I was going to be disappointed again. the people I was playing with chose "Street Racers" which I didnt have a good car for because I havent used it since the first missions in the story mode, but that isnt the problem here, the problem is that my car was a nissan 370z with a car rating at 300 (which is low) and I got to drive against players with much better cars than me and with the highest car ratings you can get and ofcause I finished at one of the last and I also had to recive a shi**y rating online because of a unfair match and I see this everytime I enter pvp lobbys and its not fair at all and it also happens when I win, im driving perf as my main class and I have also tried to take players out that was way slower than me D:

but now to the god things :D the game is fun both to drive around and exploring the gigantic map and to play the missions alone and with others and even after you have completed the story line there is still things to do, there is alot of collectibles and skill challenges to complete and try unlocking more and better parts for your car.
the map is really beautiful and there is alot of famous landmarks from all over america.

I like this in many ways but there is still alot of things that is missing and thats why I would have given this a neutral rating if I could.

This game is fine. I don't know why all of the whiny PC gamers are the only people to write reviews. Some of the reviews had me worried about buying it, but the worry is all hype. Some people don't have the slightest clue what it takes to develop a game. Just because you learned a few Java functions doesn't make you a developer. Games don't just appear from magic.

Now to the review. This game is an arcade style of racing. If you are a fan of Need for Speed, Midnight Club, Burnout, etc. (I know some of you can barely remember those titles), you will love this game. If you want a simulator style racing game, go play Forza. The servers are a bit haywire right now, but that's normal for an AAA title (BF4 anyone?). The waypoint GPS is one of the best I've ever seen, although sometimes the GPS takes you off road to get to hardball, but I figure it's trying to get you there as fast as possible. The rearview mirror isn’t functional (NASCAR 98 anyone?). I don't know why they didn't implement that. Maybe it will come in the future. The Gold Edition is definitely worth every penny. You get some cool cars off the bat and more to come with the season pass. If you are too cheap to buy the season pass, you still have some good cars to choose from. The guys complaining about having to buy the season pass to get free cars, refer to the "games don't appear from magic" statement. I don't get why you think everything should be free in life. Maybe your liberal parents should've taught you better.

You crash a lot if you are going 200 MPH. But you are soon back on your feet, or tires I guess. The damage to your car in free roam goes away after some drive time. The servers stutter some, but not bad at all. It seems to happen more when I go to LA or LV, but these are two of the biggest cities in the game. Overall this game is worth it. The graphics aren't the best, the mechanics are arcade style, and the driving is fun. That's all you need. Plus it's a MMO! It’s styled just like AC games. So if you know how to navigate that map, you are good to go. Hopefully this curbed some of the worries you might have from reading the nit picking, "I want my cake and I want to eat it too", reviews. It's a fine game... I can't praise it any more than I already have.
