About the Game

The Mk2e coaches date from the period 1972-74, and were constructed for the West Coast main line electrification which saw significant acceleration in train services to compete with motorways and air travel.

Cleared for 100mph running, they are fully air conditioned. Although they weren’t built with air suspension – like the later Mark III, the coaches run significantly quieter than the earlier designs.

Included Scenario:

• Assisting Cross Country - Towards the end of workings the class 47s were not always as reliable as they should be. In this scenario assist a failed train from Didcot to Reading, starting at Hinksey.
• Tractor Tour - Railtours are quite common on the rail network, both diesel and steam. Take a doubled headed ‘Tractor’ tour from Paddington to Oxford.
• Deltic Swansong - Your job today is to work one of the last of the Deltic hauled express trains from Newcastle to York, but all may not quite go to plan!
