Buy HST Buffer Add-On

About This Content

During 1987, eight High Speed Train power cars were converted for use as 'Driving Vehicles' alongside the Class 91 locomotives during trials on the East Coast Main Line. The power cars were fitted with buffers and ‘Time Division Multiplex’ equipment that allowed them to directly control a Class 91. They were moved over to the ECML where they were used on workings with Class 89 and then Class 91 locomotives from London to Leeds.

Please note, the East Coast Main Line route add-on (available separately) is required to play the scenarios included with this loco add-on. This locomotive is not Quick Drive compatible.

Can't recommend this as it's been broken for years without a fix. The cabview is broken, so that the windows do not display the outside, which I believe is quite an easy fix, espcially for the devs.. And it requires the EU Classis Asset Pack to display in game AT ALL, since it just installs to where the normal HST are, and then adds the buffers as child objects. But if you don't have the asset pack it has nothing to apply these child objects to, soooo it doesn't work.

If you do already have that pack, it's a bit more considerable, since you will get a fair few more skins for the HST, including non-buffered Virgin examples, but I think these still suffer from the cab view bug.

If you can stomach having a worthless cab view, and you already have the EU Asset pack, it's good for having at this price especially on sale. But not really. Idk.

Not a recommended purchase until the cab view/wiper problem is rectified. There are fixes out there on the World Wide Web, but should be fixed as a paid product.

The cab is broken, so it's best left for AI. No quickdrive consists. Buy it if you are mentally deranged.

I have used this loco with the AP ECML Scenarios in the Grand Central livery and it works great! The drivers view works fine and the loco just generally look great!
